Sheercover Makeup- Leeza Gibbons

I've been watching this infomercial, and I finally decided to try this makeup, I usually don't order from infomercials. Anyway the deal was order in x-amount of time and get the makeup for 29.95 which is still alot of money but I thought I'd try it. On the phone ordering I find out I can only get it for that price if I join the club where you get the makeup for the next 3 months being billed 29.95 each month!! I said I didn't want that then he said it would be the regular cost of 39.95. He also preceeded to take the next 20 minutes trying to get me to order vitamins and be a member of the Wal-mart club. I was so through by the time I got off the phone. Long story, long, has anyone used this makeup before? What did you think?

I broke out from the make-up and even after I cancelled it by phone and e-mail ...the company kept sending packages to me and billing me. Even after refusing delivery ...they would bill me for the delivery charge ($7.95)! I had continued to write them and even reported them to the Better Business Bureau. I honestly have never had more trouble with a company....I've never reported anyone before or after them.

If you want to try it, I think either HSN or QVC has it. They are much easier to deal with than the company, from what it sounds like.

I got sucked into this, I really loved the makeup, but the kits just kept coming and I wasn't even half way done with the stuff I had. It got very frustrating so I cancelled my plan. I was paying something like $69 every three months or something like that. WAY too much for makeup imo.

That's really too bad to hear that this company is doing this to people. A lot of informercials give you great prices if you join thier club's and I've always done it. But I've always been able to space out the amount of time the I get the make-up or product that I ordered. I'm surprised that they didn't even offer that to you.
Oh well, what can you do. Sounds like you've done all that you can. I use Bare Minerals and love it, if that helps at all.

I've heard of Bare Minerals too, I was wondering about that. Anyway, I hope that I don't have a problem with this, they were just so pushy. I even asked him why can't I go ahead and try the product first before I commit to regular deliveries and he said oh, we are trying to save you money by doing it this way. I said thanks for your thoughtful consideration but, no thanks. Then he proceeded to try and sell me on everything else. What losers. I hope I don't break out from the stuff. Oh well, I'll tell ya I'm won't be so quick next time. Although on the QVC channel I was watching when I was bored one day and to my surprise, I think Suzanne Sommers has some of the cutest clothes. Really cute stuff, as if she isn't rich enough. Her clothes were really cute though and I was tempted to order some of her stuff.

If you buy this makeup on Ebay, you can pick and choose the items that you want, and there is no pressure. I think Bare Minerals is Color ID, and it is the same makeup as Bare Escentuals. I like the makeup, but I don't find the coverage that sheer.

Suzanne Sommers is on HSN. I think some of her clothes are cute (some are rather odd), but VERY pricey!

I have Sheer Cover and I like it. I ordered off the website and had no problems at all with discontinuing the club. I also have Bare Minerals. In my opinion, Sheer Cover provides better coverage. I have dry skin and Sheer Cover also does not seem to dry my skin as much as Bare Minerals. I actually just started using Bare Minerals again after discontinuing it a while back, and my skin is really broke out bad. I'm not sure if it is the Bare Minerals or all the fun size Butterfingers I've been eating since Halloween.

Sorry about the Suzanne Sommers mix-up. Her clothes are pricey, but still cute. I didn't know Sheer cover had a website, I ordered off of the t.v., I hope I don't have any problem with stopping the order as someone stated earlier, that's a lot of money for the product. I may look into the Ebay option if I like the makeup, and then just get what I need for a smaller price. Anyway, we'll see what happens. Thanks guys for all the responses.

Also wanted to mention that I received an order before cancelling my membership. I sent it back and did receive a full refund, less postage because I had opened it, within 1-2 months.

Hi! I recommended going through Ebay, QVC, or Sephora (an online make-up site). That way you don't have the headache of clubs. I know they seem like bargins, but in the long run you pay more and have enough make up to last 5 life times.

I never used Sheercover, but do wear Bare Escentuals (BE). I ordered a whole kit from Sephora which includes: 2 different shades of foundation, Mineral Veil (the powder that gives you a soft finish) Warmth (works like a bronzer), 2 brushes for application, a cleanser (which I didn't like much) and a DVD that demostrates how to apply. I think it was like $150 value I got for $69 and it last for a long time. I truly love Mineral Makeup, it looks like natural skin, but better.

Kelly I think you broke out because you switch makeup brands. I did that once, switch from BE to another line then broke out. Never broke out before then.

Georgia, I hope that is all it was. I'm in my 40s and have never had a problem with breakouts, so it is driving me crazy.
