Shameless, self-absorbed post (and a question)

Hi Everyone:

I am officially announcing my upcoming wedding! After almost 10 years together, we are going on a cruise Apr 7-14 and will be married, just the two of us and my 13yo son. Not sure how to link properly so here is the URL to see my dress - http://www.alfredangelo.com/index.c...tegoryID/6eb1ddbe-45d0-4d16-93d6-ca5ded5c84d6

I really want to focus on my upper body so I feel and look fabulous and strong! I promised myself no stress about weight loss for this special day, although I believe it will continue to come through my hard work. Currently I am doing cardio/weight circuits 2-3 times per week (faves are cardio and weights, LIC, SJP Hi/Lo circuit)and cardio only 1-2 times per week (faves KPC, Crunch Cardio Salsa, LIS, LIC cardio blast premix.

Any suggestions are helpful. I am totally excited!

Wendy,

What a happy, fun plan! Just chiming in to say congratulations -- AND, your dress is beautiful!!

Best wishes,
Allison

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Wish I ran away to get married...but Nooooooo! Went the traditional routex( .

The dress is gorgeous!!!! I'd wear it in a heart beat!

As for looking your best, I'd keep doing what you enjoy and focus on eating as healthy as possible. The cleaner, the better. I think that will make the biggest difference in your definition.

Many congrats! Asorbed posts like this are welcome :) Your dress is stunning. I bet you will be gorgeous!

I agree with the trying to eat fairly cleanly and also try to balance your cardio and weights. I would probably gravitate towards endurance weight workouts like ME, PH, MIS as well as the circuit you are talking about. Good luck and keep us posted!

Mazel Tov!! Oh my that dress!! How to get in shape for your wedding? (to steal that ol' Cathe video line). Well: starve, freak out (stress burns calories) and don't exhale until after you say I do. That's how they did it old style.

I am thinking more cardio, high rep weights, less food. And of course get a fake tan because with that dress it will look fabulous. And face it, tans make you look more defined.

Good luck and all the best.

Julie

Oh heck, I'd be excited to just wear that dress! How gorgeous! To have a cruise included and a wedding?! Congrats! I'm sure you'll look stunning. No additional tips - except to enjoy!!!!

I just wanted to say congratulations on the upcoming wedding. The dress is very pretty also. I wish I was married the traditional way so I could have worn a dress but we got married by the justice of the peace. Both in the Army and far from family. Oh well, we are doing splendid and have two beautiful kids so what else could I ask for! You'll have to post some pictures for us when you come back!

thanks to all of you!!

Imafitnessfreak - I heard from so many friends that they wished they had done something private and that is what led us to do it this way. Not exactly eloping since everyone knows about it. We will still throw a party later in the year - great excuse to wear my dress again! Interestingly, those I thought would be upset about our private ceremony were not AT ALL (grandparents), and the last person on earth I thought would be bothered was, in fact, quite sad not to be included (my dad).

Armywife - We got an awesome military/government rate for this cruise as my fiance is in the Air National Guard here in MA and also a civilian employee of DOD. Look for military rates through a good travel agent and maybe you can renew your vows at sea one day!

One last question - would it do me good to add another upper body workout to my current rotation or am I doing enough with the circuits 3 times per week?

Wendy

I would maybe knock out one circuit and do a full body like ME once a week. You could even do just a cardio day, a full body day, and a circuit day...or alternate this in with your routine just to give variety. Have fun!

Congratulations! You might want to try Cathe's How To Shape Up For Your Wedding or whatever it's called.
