Saturday's Damage Controllers!!!

Good Morning Girls!:)

I have some nice UB DOMS from yesterdays workouts. I did Disc #5 and then decided to do MMA Boxing. It was a good workout but not as tough as I thought it was going to be. I had to keep reminding myself that not everything needs to make me gasp for air! Between the little bit of Insanity I did do and the CC runs Im always doing, I am always gasping for air! So I think it was weird for me to do something that was in between. Left my UB nice and sore though.

Todays workout is gonna be a run and a HIIT workout again, probably 40-20. Im also leaning towards doing Disc 6 to get it out of the way. I dont have any plans today so why not?

Laura** How did STS treat you yesterday? I am thinking I may be using heavier weights this time around because I am always sore. I love it though because I like knowing I worked out the day before!

Lori:: yes you are right. you don't need to kill yourself every time you work out! remember that! lol I love MMA: boxing. I think it's my fave of the MMA's. As I posted y'day, I am not a fan of Fusion. Kickboxing was a goodie though.

Laura:: I love Core Cardio Circuit! It is uber intense and nearly kills me but it's awesome isn't it!? :D You know what move I can't do? It's from MMA: Fusion...I think it's the first move in the first drill in that work out. I forget what they are called but you go down into plank, scissor your legs and come up into a kick. I have absolutely no balance on that one so I almost fall over every time I come up and try to kick! :rolleyes:

Jacque:: Glad work is improving for you. How is your back? Thanks re the job/co-workers. Very sweet of you to say.

Not quite sure what work out I will be doing today. When I figure it out, I'll let you all know! LOL

We got a 30% off coupon from Kohl's so we went shopping last night. I bought Joey new clothes that were on the clearance racks so they were cheap already and then got another 30% taken off the price! I got myself a pretty new pair of work outs sneakers, DH bought a couple pairs of jeans and I got myself a DYSON ANIMAL VACUUM! I am soooooo excited! If you have been on FB this morning you probably know this by now since I posted about it as soon as we got home! LOL Can't wait to use it today! I may finally win the battle against the DOG HAIR!!!!!!!:D:D:D

Happy Saturday Girls :)

I have BFBM on tap this morning, and DS has convinced me to go hiking with afternoon too. I think the temps are fairly mild today to it should be nice.

Sad times around here though with one of out local firls missing in Haiti. She was on a humanitarian mission with her college and staying at the Hotel Montana when the earthquake hit. Everyone is hoping and praying for some good news but as the days go by it becomes more hopeless. It's terribly sad and I just can't get this poor family off my mind :(

Lori: Those are some hefty workout plans for today! Have fun ;)

Wendy: Yay for the new vacuum! Those are supposed to be really good. You'll have to report how it works. Did you ever think you'd be so excited to do housework?

Hi Ladies,

So glad its Saturday. I've been MIA all week since I had to start back to work and a had a super busy schedule. STS has been keeping me busy and I am really enjoying it. I did HIIT 30/30 for the first time this week and loved it. Today will be Back and Shoulders, and Cardio Core Circuit. I've changed the STS rotation slightly by putting the leg workout in the middle. So its, upper, legs, upper instead of upper, upper, legs.

My sleep problems finally got the best of me and I went to the dr. I told him that not only was I not sleeping, but I'm very irritable and yelling at my family for minor things. Kind of like I'm pms'ing all the time. I think I'm so irritable because I'm not sleeping. He had a different diagnosis, depression. He said irritability and insomnia are indications of depression. He did some hormone level testing to appease me since I thought it could be pre-menopause which I wouldn't notice the normal signs of since I had a hysterectomy. That was not the case. I've been prescribed an anti-depressant that is used off-label as a sleep aid. I'm kind of afraid to take them and haven't taken one yet. Although I fell asleep fine last night, I was awake for about 3 hours during the night.:mad:

DS1 called DH yesterday morning at 6:30am, which would be 5:30am DS time. It sounds like he may have been evicted and he wants to come home. I knew he didn't have the money for his Jan rent since I was out there - he didn't aske me for money, but I told him I couldn't help him. If he needed money he needed to call his dad. I'm sure it was very difficult for my son to call and say he wanted to come home since I know he wants to be near his girls. He has not been able to find work and has run out of money. I talked to him yesterday and he sold his furniture and packed everything else in his jeep. He is leaving Oregon today and should be here tomorrow sometime.

Now you know how my week was. I'm going to try to read our past weeks thread and get caught up.

Back to report. Todays workout went as planned. I did 5 miles on the TM, then 40/20 and STS disc 6. I also cleaned my floors before doing this. Its only 1'ish now and I have the rest of the day to do whatever...but I don't know what I want to do:eek:

Wendy** Nope, I never read about your shopping spree on FB:) Don't even get me started on the dog fur! Its driving me crazy! Its everywhere in my house! I use to get away with sweeping the bedrooms and bathrooms once every 2 days but now I have to do it everyday. When I woke up earlier I could see that DS's bedroom door was wide open...which only meant one thing....the dog had found his way to DS's bed. Sure enough, he was out cold. Instead of lugging the vacuum upstairs I used one of those rolly sticky things and it took 5 peices to get all the fur off:confused: Ugh! As if I don't have enough to do around here already!

Jen** That is very sad! I think there are two people from here in Hati as well but they are fine. Im not sure if they have made it home yet or not though. Traffic as certainly picked up at the airport b/c of it. Its so werid b/c we live in such an isane unsafe world but yet when disaster strikes we realize how many good people there are!

Diana** You must have been surprised when the Dr said he thought you were depressed. Most people don't know they are depressed when they are. I guess they are other signs other then feeling and looking depressed. See...I would take whatever a dr gave me...LOL Im not one bit afraid of pills! hehe! So your son is moving back? How do you guys feel about that? Are you going to let him stay for as long as he wants???

Quick question...when doing calve raises does anyone else feel it under their glute? I start burning right in that area.....I guess its o.k as long as something is burning! Must get some lunch!

Heya Ladies !

Slow movin' for me today - had a headache y'day and this AM so was taking pills and icing earlier. Got up and it feels OK - sat down and did my bills and balanced the bank accts for the first time in - oh man - it was 3 months ! :eek: DH was up early and cutting the mistletoe out of our front yard tree ! :eek: What got into him today I wonder? :rolleyes:

I skipped last 2 days of workouts due to hockey and the headache so have finished 1 week of the STS/SC rotation. Today will be Wk2 - think it is C&B? I'm gonna just chug along and may end up taking more than 1 rest day per week unless I can get into some lunch time workouts or perhaps the cardio could be done in the AM? No way will I be able to do STS in the AM.

Lori - way to kick butt on the workouts today ! I'll never keep up to your energy (but I keep on thinking some day . . . :rolleyes:) What did you end up doing with all your 'free' time? I don't get sore in the glute when doing calf raises - wonder if you are tightening them when you do the raises? That might cause it. Not a bad thing . . . extra benefit actually ! ;)

Wendy - You guys are talking Jillian to much now cuz I love those workouts but am destined to do STS/SC ! :p Sounds like a great shopping trip for you. I've also heard that Animal vacuum cleaner is a good one. Almost got one last year but decided not to spend the $. Do tell how it works in case we get another puppy. It would actually be good for my bird's feathers too. Enjoy Jillian.

Jen - a hike sounds like fun ! Looks like we got sunshine today ! May go help DH with the tree just to get a little vitty "D". We are in for a rainy next couple of weeks so may not have the chance for a while. So sorry to hear of the local girl who is missing. That was one hotel I heard fell completely to the ground but there were numerous people found so I'll keep my fingers crossed for the family too. We had one from not too far away and she and her family are all safe. The DH is a doctor so they are hanging around to help out. Hope you had fun with Jillian too ! ;)

Diana - sorry it has been so busy for you. Also about the drs diagnosis. I kinda felt like that last year for quite a while but have been doing better in the last couple of months. I think mine was menopause related. Have had a few nights recently where I woke for a few hours but not consistently like it was happening for me previously. Have you ever tried taking a couple of Melatonin caps before bed? I have used it for the past few years when I'd go a few nights without much sleep. It usually gets me a good night's sleep. Also warm baths before bedtime . . . Hope you figure it out. It has been very busy for you lately and sometimes the stress hormones can getcha badly. I'm with you on not taking pills unless I have to.

Well I need to get off this computer and get going.

Went to book the hotel room but in trying online it seems full. Before I called to check I thought I'd see what your plans are.

Are you flying in on Fri AM and leaving Sun afternoon so we'll only need Fri & Sat nites?

I'll be trying to check with you through all avenues, here, FB, Email so hopefully we make contact soon. I'm getting nervous that we may be late if we don't book soon as SD is a great vacation place and the trip is near Easter.
 
Hi Ladies,

Back to report my workout is done! I did disc 5 (back and triceps) and Core Cardio Circuit. I need to work on a couple of the ab exercises in this w/o. I added in a bit of my own ab work to make up for it. At any rate, I'm a sweaty mess.

DH has relatives that flew in from Boston this morning. The rest of my family is at MIL's with the relatives. I opted to stay home and finish my workout. I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of an empty house.

On to complete my to do list for today!
