HI, good morning.How are you? Haydee I hope you and your dh enjoy botcamp today.I have done yet the gaunlet.In the afternoon I am going to do the upper body premix of ME and 1 hour in my static bike.Have a great weekend.:).Yesterday I have bought whey protein for protein shakes.Do you drink protein shakes? How can I use the proteins?

Mariángeles, great minds think alike...I'm doing the Gauntlet this morning as well...but that'll be it for me for the day...hats off to you for being able to do ME upper AND ride an hour on your bike! Whew!!! Hope everyone has a fantastic day today. :)

Mariángeles, quite a workout you've got planned there for today! I use protein powder in my pancakes, just add a few tablespoons in the batter. Also if I have oatmeal in the morning, I'll throw a little in there, especially after a weight training session or if I know I won't get enough in my regular food.

Annette, I understand your frustration. I have a very sensitive stomach myself, and it gets really bloated easily(in the evening I can look like I'm 6 months pregnant if I don't really watch what I eat). It can feel extremely frustrating after all those hard workouts! And I don't consider myself fat either, 5'4 and about 112 pounds, so it's not about the amount of food. What I've noticed besides certain foods just not agreeing with me is that if I combine very different kinds of foods, it gets worse. I'm still experimenting with a lot of stuff, so let me know if you come up with anything that seems to work good for you! I agree seeing a doctor is a good idea, too.

Anyway, for me it was Imax Extreme and abs from PUB today. Those pikes are tough, but I really feel worked in the core after! It took me a long time before I could even do them, but now they're almost my favourite core exercise.

Good morning ladies....

Mariángeles, like Maria I use protein powder in my oatmeal and I also use it in a fruit smoothie that I make in a blender with about 2 cups of fruit, 3/4 cup of soymilk, 1T of ground flaxseed and then a scoop of the protein powder...it tastes great!

Today it is raining here and I am doing a 30K (18.6 mile) trail run at one of the lakes. Not real happy about the rain but last time I did a run in the rain I did very well...I'll post back later and let you know how I did! Have agreat Saturday...:)...Carole
 
Hi Everyone,
I don't have enough time to squeeze in a workout this morning-I slept in till 8 x( Oh well, it felt really good:) Hopefully I will have time to squeeze in a workout later today - if so I think I will do Kristin Kagen's Step This Way for a change of pace.

What brand of protein powder do you buy? Is it only at health food stores? Also, do you notice a difference when you use it versus when you don't? Just curious

Afternoon all,

I always take a protein shake with soy milk, ground flax seed, a banana and instant coffee before my run. And a shake after my strength training. Have no idea why I do it differently:) Must be the woman in me:)

Today son no 1 and I ran 10K over 1 minute faster than last weeks 9K. I was really flying the first 40 minutes. Son no. 1 was even complaining I was running too fast, kids these days:) Trying to catch up with me he almost fell in a muddy pool with rain water :) :) so funny. Then in the last 1K we were both really struggling, not just with our legs, but with a very strong head wind as well. My son's cap flew of and he was muttering about having to run the distance twice cause he had to go back and try catch his cap:) :) Do you have any idea how hard it is to run and shake all over from laughter:) :) By the time we had to run up the overpass, we normally accellerate but today we both couldn't do it. My son thought he was going faster but he was still beside me:) :) By the time we got to the top our legs were nearly crumbling underneath us and we were holding on to eachother. We were pathetic:) :) But we had such fun:)

Got to make a tiramisu now, having dinner at a friends house and I'll bring desert. I deserve extra today.

Good morning,

This morning I did BodyMax Step and Circuits, followed by SH Triceps, Biceps & Abs. This completes the SH series for this week. I'm trying to think what to do next week; probably the pyramids and one or both of the strength workouts from the BB series. Don't know yet.

I love the SH series, but don't like how much time they take. It makes it hard to put them in a rotation every week, because they crowd out the time I have to do the other workouts.

Carole, 30km!?!? When is this marathon you're training for? Is it your first? And if you're speaking in metric, are you...gasp...in Canada??

Dutchie, I really admire the way you run with your son. You sound like a pretty cool mom.

Weighing in on the protein shake: my favourite was always vanilla soymilk, blueberries, banana, pure juice frozen concentrate, and ground flax seed. No protein powders added, but I suppose that could be done.

Hi again.I want to say thank you for all the answers about the proteins shakes.All your answers are very useful.I have done yet my ME upper body.Later, while I see the television, I will do my hour of static bike. I have to be ready for the hardcore.Thank you very much again.

Thanks Maria, I am probably going to call the doctor on Monday. I took a rest day today, and I am not going to eat very much, the only thing that makes me feel ok is sugar,SIGH!! Go figure the one thing I have been avoiding makes my tummy feel ok.:+ :( I felt really really bad last night and even went to bed without doing the dishes(which I never do), got my hair cut this morning and feel ok so far, but all I have eaten is sugar candy.

Hello Ladies

I use protein powder in my smoothies too. Now I use "flavorless" soy, since I'm using the vita-mix for veggie drinks too. This morning I had a drink containing:

one apple
half a banana
half a small beet
one small parsnip
handful of spinach
one small carott
wheat grass powder
soy powder
flaxseed

Believe it or not it tasted delicious! Really sweeet. I love my vita-mix.
Actually lately I've been developping these very strong emotions toward the elliptical trainer too. Today I just couldn't get off of it. 45 min hr up to 176. So instead of the planned 30 min abs I only did PUB abs, the whole nine yards. Somebody help me with these machines!:) :) :)
 
Sandra...no actually this marathon will be my 12th. It is Jan 1st. thanks for asking..:) The 30K went very well, even with rain. I got 1st overall female! Very,very hard and MUDDY course...:)..no I live in Northern Cal and there are many metric runs here. 5K, 10K, 30K and 50K's...I prefer miles myself.

Sounds like the workouts went well....and the shakes do sound very good!! ....Carole
 
Going to try to start posting my workouts here too_On Saturday I did Gauntlet and pyramid upper chest and triceps. After doing Gauntlet as an intense cardio workout I am planning a strength workout only for Sunday. I am hoping to do Pyramid Lower Body, Pyramid biceps and an ab workout.
 
Welcome, I think this is very motivating to post the workouts you are going to do that day.This Saturday I have done the gaunlet too.This terminator workout deserve five stars .I usually do it in the weekend.I have done the ME upper body too.Pyramids lower body is hard especially the exercises with the stability ball.Have fun. :)
