S&H on the way!

I have been doing the PS series for several weeks now. Just ordered the S&H series on Tuesday night. I CAN'T WAIT until they get here!
I plan to start using the recipes I found here on the forum for protein smoothies/shakes, etc. and only doing 2 cardios per week. Boy, I'm getting entirely too serious about this fitness stuff! Can anybody tell me how much harder S&H legs is compared to PS Legs? Thanks.
Lisa

You are going to LOVE S&H Lisa :)
I don't think "harder" is quite the right word, I think S&H Legs is more "intense!" The extremely slow pace of the workout is just more intense than any of the other equally as wonderful Cathe leg workouts.
For instance, the slower pace of the static lunges will allow you to really feel EVERY muscle involved, you lower on a 2 count, and push up on a slow 6 count, and you can really feel your muscles responding. Also for me, plie squats have always been an easier exercise, but the slower pace has really turned up the volume for my inner thighs!
The first day I did S&H Legs, I remember saying, "okay~not so tough, I got through it without a whimper!" But the next morning!!!!! The front of my legs were SCREAMING at me! :)
It's intense :) But I think you'll love it!
Donna
p.s. and wait until you experience S&H Chest-Back (WOW)~I'm a big girl, but my chest was shaking like a chauaua (sp?)
as Cathe would say,"tough stuff!" :)

Two things I absolutely ADORE about both PS legs and S&H Legs -- Cathe lets you have a longer rest inbetween sets (as opposed to Leaner Legs, which I do but dread). With S&H, there's a minute rest. I wouldn't say it's harder than PS Legs, just different.

There's something actually "soothing" and calming about S&H Legs and the rest of the S&H series. And Cathe is at her charming best. You don't feel "spent" or out of breath after doing S&H, even though you've worked hard.

Enjoy!

Fun, Lisa!

Both of those series are wonderful. You are going to love S&H! There is not a section of all three tapes that I don't care for. It all is put together sooo well. GREAT workout. Customer service is so good, I wouldn't be surprised if you have them by this weekend, but if not, it will be worth the wait. LET US KNOW!! :7

RE: 2 days of cardio?

Well, I guess I simply thought that 2 cardios plus the S&H series once per week would help me eventually (over the course of 8 or 9 months) lose this last 12 lbs. I'm not in a big hurry. Fitting in 5 workouts per week between work, family, and household, etc. is already hard to accomplish. How many cardios do you think per week is necessary? I can certainly use the advice. Thanks, Lisa

RE: 2 days of cardio?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound judgemental or anything, I was just curious. I can certainly understand the time constraints though! I think the general concensus on cardio is 2-3 per week minimum. So your'e on track. S/H is tough and burns major calories, plus your'e building muscle which will raise your resting metabolic rate anyway.

Enjoy S/H!

RE: 2 days of cardio?

Hi Marnie,
I think you had a real good point. I should try to shoot for 3 cardios per week. Maybe they will be kinda short cardios (25-30 min) but that's probably better than only two.
And I didn't think you were being judmental, I am always open for suggestions from the educated crowd here. Getting the suggestions/opinions from others will help me reach my goals.
So glad the weekend is here!!!!

RE: 2 days of cardio?

Lisa,
I love thise series! I keep reaching for it instead of mixing up my rotation. My favorite is Legs and shoulders. Cathe looks so fit in this one, makes me want muscles soooooo bad! I can't tell if it is easier than PS but it is definitely easier than LL! This is why I love it, being apple shaped with legs that shrink unless I work on them, this slow and heavy pace has kept them just the right size without killing me with endurance type squatting. I like LL, but I can't promise to do it every week like this one. Hope you enjoy it too!
