Today is DM for me.

Carol- Sometimes my feet forget when I raise my step height to 8", and they will jusmp only 6"...not a pretty sight.;-)

Lara- that you were able to fit a workout in was an accomplishment:)

Vicki- I liked your response to Tess's thread on ironing....I would do the same thing :7

Michelle: I can't tell you how many times I've done that with the step also! Yup, not a pretty sight at all!

I am soooo sore this morning after teaching my three classes yesterday! My butt is like the worst it's ever been. Of course I have them doing explosive squats and lunges this week, so, um, that would mean I did them three times yesterday and ouchie!!! So, studying is going to be extra fun today as I have been sitting at the computer for 10 minutes and I want to cry right now from a** pain. Even though I should probably rest today, I feel like I want to do some sort of workout just for my brain function ( it always helps me focus better, do you agree?) It's raining outside, so, no walking today, but maybe the elliptical or treadmill? I don't think my legs or butt are up to any stepping today!

Anyway, eating has been pretty clean lately. Ever since I gave up those protein bars 6 weeks ago I have noticed a difference. I guess those extra calories were not doing me any good.

Yesterday in class one of my students commented on how great my arems looked!!! So, the hard work is paying off I guess...Only thing is that because I had been carrying around the extra 125 pounds for so long ( about 12 years) I still have some extra skin when I lift my arms. I have worked so hard these last 6 years and my arms do look pretty good, but I know the skin is there and it makes me crazy. I am seriously considering having it removed, but the scar is pretty big. I had consulted with a doctor 2 years ago who told me to keep working out to see how much improvement I could get first, but who also agreed that the skin doesn't really go with who I am and what I'm about now. So, I have been discussing it with DH and will be seeing a doctor in NYC that I found who specializes in ths kind of surgery. We'll see. It's like the last reminder of where I used to be and I would love to have it gone. No amount of weight lifting is going to help it at this point. Oh well, just thought I'd share since it's kind of on my mind right now.

Okay, enough procrastinating, off to get the second cup of coffee and then hitting the books.

Good Morning Ladies!

Today was GS legs except for the floor work and then B&G floor work. I ran out of time, but will do KPC abs this aft. I am teaching "summer fun" for 4 year olds this week and today is Wacky Wednesday, so we are wearing our clothes backwards. I haad to wear some baggie shorts to be able to wear them inside out and backwards!!:)

Vicki--You should be so proud of your accomplishment!! What an inspriration you are to others!!

What kind of workout schedule are you ladies planning for the days before the RT?? DO you do easier workouts or the same?

Gin - I will be doing GS Legs to day, too - I also have my karate class to go to after that
Vicki - you are so inspirational - you go girl - I always seem to want to do some kind of workout even if I am sore for that seems to take the soreness away - working out always makes me feel better mentally also!

Michelle - I can hardly believe the difference betwen an 8" and 6" step. I usually do the 8", but every six months or so, when my knees are kind of hurting I do go down to a 6" it is more knee friendly. It doesn't make my knees ache at all. Who would have thought that 2" would make a difference. I do get a better cardio workout on an 8" though

Godd morning girls. Hope everyone is doing great. yesterday I was supposed to do GS BBS but my upper body was still sore from GS C&T. I know they are different muscles, but I felt like I needed a day of rest in between because everything was tight...so I will do BBS tonight.

Vicki - what a workout! You deserve a break today my friend....or maybe just do something light, stretches and such. :)

Michelle - I always do step with either just the platform or 6". I've never done 8". I'd have to invest in some additional life insurance before I'd even attempt it. :)

Gin & Cheryl - don't you just love the gym styles? Since I've been using them I don't want to use anything else!

Just got back from shopping for the RT on my lunch hour. I didn't really find anything. I did pick up some new socks. Yay socks!! ;-)

LOL Melissa. I just got some new socks for the RT too.

Vickie, I know what you mean about that underarm skin. After years of being overweight, and now being of a certain age, I know the bat wings will never go away. I'm too old to consider the surgery. Actually, at 52, I'm finally becoming comfortable with my bod. It will never be slim and trim, but I have some muscle definition and sure look better than at least 70% of the woman I see in my age group.

Kim, I really enjoyed the few times I could run with a friend. It always seemed to go faster.

Tess, I love the GS workouts too.

Cheryl and Michelle, another 8" here who just has to drop to 6 sometimes.

I woke up with a terrible headache and had to call in sick. It was midafternoon when I discovered my DH had used decaf coffee for the last 2 or 3 days. Talk about a habit. As soon as I had a cup of the real stuff, I felt human again. I ended up doing PLB. I have one more day to workout this week. We leave for my SIL's on Friday afternoon. I hope to get a couple days of stepping while there, but will pretty much have a rest week and a half right before the RT. I hope it doesn't hurt.

I jot up at 4 this morning and did S& H back and bis and abs. I am just now starting to get sore from my yesterdays leg workout:D

Hey Tess! Michelle pointed me over here from a different forum (thank you again Michelle). I didn't realize there was a daily check-in - very cool! I did Rhythmic Step tonight, and tomorrow I'm going to do either KickMax, or maybe GS BSB. Sometimes I have one idea of what I'd like to do in the morning, but then it changes by the time I'm ready after work... A friend of mine is coming over to try out Cathe for the first time. Oh which one to do...

Got to go get the burritos out of the oven - have a great night everybody!

Hello everyone. I just got home from Bikram Yoga and wanted to say hi.

I bought a bunch of new stuff for the road trip. Yeah new socks! I also had to buy tops and bottoms because I am embarrassed to be seen in the old stuff. I do need to buy a couple more bras though.

I'm looking forward to the road trip but I'm terrified at the same time. I am worried that 3 Cathe workouts in one day will kill me :)

RE: Plastic surgery. This is such a personal decision. We all to live in our own bodies and look at ourselves in the mirror each day. I have lost about 85 pounds and do have some skin issues but right now surgery isn't for me. BUT, never say never. I may decide to have something done in the future. I am open to the possibility.

Hello.

I added some extra cardio and weight work today b/c I was feeling stronger today (and I am getting ready for a wedding). I did IMAX 1 and B&G Leg Blast premix this morning. Tonight I did the cardio portion of KPC and L&G. I am pretty sure that I am not losing anything b/c I have had a few glasses of wine the past few days to unwind from all of the craziness!!

Michelle...Yes, I feel like any day I can fit in a workout is an accomplishment lately:) I hope you enjoyed DM. I love that one!!

Vicki...Yes, I agree--Working out helps my mind so much!!! I am not as functional if I am not able to work out. How great that you are receiving compliments on your arms!!! You hard work has paid off in big ways!!


Gin...I hope you had a wonderful "Wacky Wednesday"!!! I plan to work out a lot the next week and a half (b/f I leave for my vacation/wedding). I am really worried though. I know I won't be able to keep up my workout routine when I am at the beach getting married. I am also going to Chicago right b/f the RT. I want to keep up my endurance for the RT!!! I hope I can find some way to fit it all in!!!

Melissa...I don't know what I will be wearing to the RT either, but I always like buying new workout socks!!!

Robin...I am with you!! I hope a week and a half off doesn't hurt too much b/f the RT!! I think I will re-visit PLB sometime this week. I have had it for so long (and do PUB all the time), but have only done PLB one time. It is a good one!

Randi...I hope you went to bed after you posted!! 4 am?!?! I don't think I could do anything that early!!!

Ivory...Glad you checked in tonight. I am glad I am not the only late night responder:) I am glad you were able to find lots of things for the RT!!
