Roadtrippers- Saturday 3/31

I did a number on myself yesterday and have the sore buns to prove it!}( So today will be LIC upperbody circuit and later a workout on the elliptical. Tomorrow is my long run of 12 miles. I have a half marathon that's really a very tough course in the beginning of May so I'm giving myself an extra long time to prepare and getting in lots of longer runs.

I'll also be going on a nice long motorcycle run with DH today:7

ShellyC

Shelly,

It is so great that you are a marathon runner! I have never been much of a runner - so I admire runners! I have arthritis in my left hip(diagnosed last March) - I will need a hip replacement - I just do not know when. I do not have any pain with it. I just have limited outward movement with it. So, I cannot run at all - I still do some plyometircs, because I love them so much.

I did All Body Attack this morning and I will be doing Absolutely Kickboxing tonight with Kimberly Spreen (these are the new CIA workouts). Tomorrow morning I will be doing Drill Max!

I hope you have a nice weekend. You have some great posts. It sill be great to meet you in August.

Cheryl

Good morning Roadtrippers!

Today is the last day of the March rotation. Today I will be doing Muscle Endurance.Tomorrow is a rest day/ or yoga?

ShellyC have fun on your 12 mil.run tomorrow! WOW!!

I am happy if I can run 3 mil.:) without getting out of breath!

Cheryl how many hours to you work out? All I do are Cathe's rotations.

Are you guys workout more since you are going on the RT.?

Have a great day everybody!
Hallo to everyone who follows today!

Belinda

Hello all!
Well, last night I went out with my girlfriends, I didn't do too bad with the eating...a cocktail and a couple glasses of wine...a small steak w/ yummy swiss chard, although I did have dessert :-(
But, I figure we don't get a girl's night out very often, so it's not too bad.
My stepson is here for the weekend, so we're going to the movies tonight to see "Meet the Robinsons". I will try to stay away from the popcorn and candy...so much temptation!!!
I'm going to do PLB today and a segment from coremax. The floor work in PLB always makes my legs shake!
Have a great day everyone!

Hi trippers. I'm at work and have a few minutes to spare before lunch and thought I'd check in.

ShellyC, I'm another who admires long distance runners. I used to run exclusively, when I was much younger, and even then rarely made it past 6 miles. Now that I'm older, it's hard an my joints. Have fun on the motorcycle ride. My DH has 2 British sports cars that we love riding around in on nice summer days. It hasn't been warm enough here yet to get them out of the garage.

Cheryl, yikes, a hip replacement? Not any time soon I hope.

Belinda, I haven't changed my workouts at all. August is still too far away. Besides, I don't have enough time to fit any more in right now.

Today calls for a 30 min. run. If it is raining when I get home, I'll do a step workout instead. Probably Amy Bento, since that one is new and exciting for me.

Have a wonderful day all.

Hi everyone!!
Today I subbed for another step instructor at the gym. I always get nervous doing step classes because the cueing is so different from PIYO. I even had a nightmare about it last night. Oh well, at least everyone was sweaty when they left.

Shelly C: I hope you have a great motorcycle ride. People around here are finally starting to take theirs out. I am so impressed with the 12 mile run!!!!

Cheryl-Drill Max is one of my favorites from the new series. Have you done any of the premixes?

Belinda-I don't know as I will be exercising more in terms of time, but I definitely want to be more focused, if that makes any sense. Some times I feel like I am just throwing workouts together, so I am going to try to follow more rotations before the road trip. Which reminds me, tomorrow is April 1 so Cathe will be posting a new rotation.:) :)

Robin-I hope the sun is shining for you when you get home so you can go on your run. There is nothing like running outside!!

Josie-I would love to know how the movie is. My kids are dying to see that one.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Beth:)

Belinda - My workout time really depends. I workout every morning and usually five nights a week. I like to do cardio in the morning and weight training at night. Sometimes at night I will do a little cardio before weight training to get me warmed up and sweaty. It ends up being about 70 minutes in the morning and 70 minutes at night. I will not change any of my workouts before the Road Trip. Today I am doing things out of the ordinary. Since I just got the CIA workouts, I am doing them to see how I like them. I do not follow anyones rotations. I pick out all of my own.

Robin - I do not know when I will need a hip replacement. The doctor told me that I had advnaced arthritis - but could not believe that I have no pain. He said anyone else would have been in to see him over ten years ago with how my hip looks. He attributes the no pain with my exercise. He told me to keep as active as possible and just not do something that hurts. He thinks it was caused from an injury since my right hip is fine.

Josie - Have fun at the movies and try to stay away from the candy and popcorn which is very hard to do! Let us know how you enjoyed the movie.

Beth - It is great that you are an aerobic instructor. Are you certified to do kickbox also? How many hours a week do you teach classes? How long have you taught?

Cheryl

Cheryl,
I just started teaching about 5 months ago. I do one PIYO class a week. They are adding another one in May. I sub for other step instructors as they have been actually cancelling step classes instead of adding more. Now we are down to 3 step classes a week:-( I don't have my kickboxing cert. but I would like to get that one and Body Pump next. I don't teach that much because a lot of the classes are during the day and I try to leave my days open so I can sub at elementary schools.

What kind of cardio do you do in the morning? You are so dedicated. I bet your doctor was amazed at how well you have been doing! I really think exercise is so beneficial for so many things!!My mom has high blood pressure, but she started exercising a lot and she was able to go off some of her meds. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Beth

Wow, some of you are workout maniacs. I'm lucky if I get in a hour a day/5 days a week. I shoot for 6, but life happens to get in the way sometimes. As for workouts between now and the road Trip, I too am trying to focus on better workouts abd better eating.Trying to push harder and become stronger, not because I'm afreaid of what the workouts will be like on the Road Trip, but just so I can be comfortable with myself and my endurance.

This morning I did one of the itread workouts. I really liked it and plan to use it to hopefully improve on my jog/running capabilities. All of you long distance runners amaze me. Keep up the good work. Will try to get to personals later this weekend. I have to work tomorrow so I'm trying to get all my cleaning and laundry done today.

jean

Sheryl and Beth - I will certainly let you all know how the movie was. It looks pretty funny from the previews I've seen, so hopefully it will be a movie that we all can enjoy. I'll let you know!!! And maybe I'll just have a little popcorn...no butter}(
Josie

Hello again roadtrippers! Got some yard work done after my workout this morning. DH and I are about to go out on the bikes but I thought I'd check in here first for a bit :)

Jean- Be proud of what you can accomplish... you work out much more than 95% of the population :) I love the iTreads!! They really push you to accomplish more than you think you can.

Cheryl- Wow, on top of all the kids and your busy life you have this issue with arthritis in your hip? It's good that you have no pain at least even though your range of motion is limited. Hip replacement surgery has come a long way in recent years. Patients are up and around the next day the prospect of recovered function is a good one.
(I'm an RN btw)

Belinda- Since I'm already a crazy workout addict it would be a tad difficult to do more in my case;-) Actually, one area I really do need to work on is flexibility or I'll embarrass myself at the roadtrip! ME is a great workout... the bicep section is a challenge in particular.

Robin- Have a great run today! Alot of running can be hard on old joints which is why I rarely run on consecutive days and incorporate alot of cross training.

Josie- Sounds like you had a terrific girlfriend night! Those are indeed special:) The PLB floor section makes me shake too!

Beth- I bet you gave your students their money's worth and likely worried over it for nothing! Okay, I gotta ask since I'm an ignorant home exerciser.... what is PIYO?

Everyone have a great afternoon!

ShellyC

Hi everyone. I checking in - a moment to myself. The kids and their dad are out at the hardware store to pick up some more wood so they can work on their treehouse. :) This means some time to myself. I was supposed to work out right now, but decided to check in and then I'll see what kind of time I have left. And if not, I will start tomorrow as a new day (and month!). Does that sound noncommital our what?!

Shelly- Enjoy your motorcycle ride and enjoy your run tomorrow too! Sounds like you have a great plan in place for that marathon. Mentally and physically, it must be beneficial to plan in advance.

I never really liked running until I got a treadmill because I couldn't pace myself. The treadmill was great for me and I would just love to run and zone out! My hips and knees began yelling at me, so I got an eliptical to do my "going no-where but still running" cardio sessions. My husband can't stand the stationary machines and would rather be out biking. That's too hard when I was taking care of the kids, dealing with weather, temperature, and traffic. I like the bubble I've created in my workout space. It works great for me!

Cheryl- Physically fit people always amaze doctors! That's great that you don't have pain with your condition. Keep up what you are doing, it obviously is working. I personally would like to get up earlier to do part of my workout. Always the best way to start your day! As far as working out at night- I find when I do cardio it takes me a while to get to sleep and then, I don't sleep as soundly. I thought it would work the other way. Maybe I'm not working hard enough? How about you? I checked out your pic trail- you have a great looking family (large one too!) Not sure how you do it, but Kodos to you!

Belinda- I personally will do more workouts- and be more consistent. I'm "on" for a long time, then I take a break - not really intentionally, but it ends up by being a vacation! Then I curse myself when I start up again and get into it. I guess I need a plan B and plan C to go with the plan A when I can't get my workout in because of things that are going on! Tomorrow I think I'm dong Muscle Max with eliptical.

Robin- I need to plan more like you- do something else when my first plan doesn't work! I checked out your pic-trail too- very nice pictures.:) The cars are beautiful. We will have to live vicariously through Shelly right now.

Josie- I think that you're right about girls night out once in a while. I hope the movie is good. My kids are wanting to see it too. The last time I went to a movie, I popped gum in my mouth before I got out of my car, and then put a fresh one in when the movie started. That helped me get through the munchies. The kids love the popcorn - it's part of their experience, but then they get out of the movie and say "I think that I ate too much popcorn. I'm just having a salad for dinner tonight!" I'm et too dehydrated the next day when I endulge. Those companies know how to make something that's hard to put down. Plus, our movie theater has free refills!

Beth- how often to you teach class? Do you just sub? Being in front of the class instead in the class must be hard! Sounds like you worked them if they left sweaty. I agree with you on Drill max! It is one of my favorites!

Have a great day- and remember, not only is it Palm Sunday tomorrow, but it is April Fools' day to those that have kids (young and older). I am on the lookout! My kids have been scheming and I know it! I won't get hit by the spray of water from the black electical tape on the black sink sprayer again when I make morning coffee!

Julia

Not sure what I will do for a workout today. I am thinking about pulling out RS, but the music really drives me crazy on that one. However, I am kinda in the mood for all step and I haven't pulled that one out in a while (due to the music), I love the stepping though.

Grocery shopping is on tap for today, and I might work a bit in the yard.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi Everyone ~ I hope you are having a NICE WEEKEND :)

I'm doing much of nothing, my kids are with their Dad this weekend, so it's been pretty quiet around here.

Yesterday was a major workout day....Don't ask me where I got all the energy!!!

Took a break and picked my son up from work, came home and had (2) slices of Pizza...YUM :(

Hi everybody!
I missed posting yesterday (and my workout) due to craziness at work. I work in an animal hospital and the food recalls have us going crazy! Today I did intervals 1-5 of IMAX 2 and BC upper & lower body & core premixes. It was a good workout for me. My big plans for the weekend is going to a baby shower tomorrow (yuck).

ShellyC-Hope you had a nice bike ride. I have a couple of friends who ride and I am always jealous of them.

Belinda-I am not working out more; just following my intermediate rotation and hopefully will be worked up to a real Cathe rotation before August.

Josie-I can never go to a movie without getting buttered popcorn:-(
When I did PLB the first time I thought "this isn't as bad as I thought" until I got to the floorwork!

Julia-Thanks for the April Fool's Day reminder. I always forget and get "fooled":D

Hope you all have a great day!

Kara

Hi Roadtrippers.

Shelly....hope you can rest your buns a bit...:)

Cheryl/cmoroney...this Body Attack sounds interesting.

Belinda...have fun with ME. I don't think I am working out any more because of the RT...I am just OCD...

Robin...my thoughts have always been that running is definitely not for everyone, and yes it is hard on the joints. But some of us runners are just crazy...enjoy your step workout.

Josie...I agree about the floorwork in PLB...have fun at the show.

Beth...sounds like your step class was a success.

Jean...I use ITreads and iClimbs on my Elliptical, I like those workouts alot.

Julia...so you have some April fools tricksters in your house!

Jenn...that does sound like a tough workout. Have fun at Kohl's....I think we are getting one soon.

Kara...I bet in your line of work this recall is making things really tough. I feel so bad about these people loosing their animals...Good workout! I will admit, I feel the same about baby showers...

I did SJP using my Elliptical for the stepping and Hi/Lo...for some reason that workout always has a "fun" factor to me.

I am looking forward to a Veggie Gourmet pizza from Round Table for dinner....yum...:)

Hey roadtrippers!

Today is a rest day for me. I have some DOMS from yesterdays B&G. I plan on BM2 double upper body premix tomorrow. I'm thinking that Cathe's April rotation looks good, so maybe I'll do that. I don't run, so i'll substitute another cardio.

Jean, I'm like you. I do 5-6 days/week for about 1 to 1hr15min.

Cheryl, you're amazing! WO twice/day!

I am going to the movies tonight so see Premonition and Yes, I will be getting popcorn. http://bestsmileys.com/eating1/4.gif

I'm back really quick- I got in a workout on my eliptical- 1.05 hour and stretch max 1. It felt great! Monster salad for dinner! Yumm.

And yes, I have pranksters in our home. But hopefully, I will be prepared. Kids are getting their beds short sheeted tomorrow night among other things. Just when they think the day of fooling is over.. hmmmm not quite!

Julia

Massive Easter Egg hunt and egg coloring with the monsters today. After not taking a rest day for over a month I kind of did today. Did Bryan Kest yoga, Fluidity and Katami Bar. Ate really bad yesterday. Time to rebound. Off to clean some very dirty kids as DH is out of town. Have a good night all.

Lorrie

I'll be walking the Komen 3-day (60 miles) the week after Cathe's RT. Here's my webpage.
