RESULTS ARE IN!!! Ultimate Guide to Cathe's Workouts

RE: RESULTS ARE IN!!! Ultimate Guide to Cathe's Workou...

This list is awesome!:) I had ordered the Boot Camp+ Muscle Endurance DVD and received the catalog with my purchase and was thoroughly confused. I love the BC workout. I love that it's the best of both worlds cardio with a total body work out as well.

So, I thought I'd sign on this morning to find something else like that. I do like kick boxing so, I thought I would try the Kick Punch and Crunch, but then noticed the new Hardcore series which has a DVD called Kick Max. Does anyone have both and could recommend one over the other?

Also, I have noticed everyone talking about the IMAX, IMAX 2 , and IMAX 3. Are these step aerobics? I prefer a really good cardio workout without the step?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. These are the workouts that have been missing from my workout. Thanks to FitTV I found Cathe and her workouts. I can't wait to expand my video collection.

Thanks again!

This is a great rating, but let's not forget that not everybody exercises like most of us do.

I agree with almost all the ratings, but if a beginner saw the list, they might not agree that some of the Classic Cathe step workouts are only a 5 or so. I can remember a time I thought "Step Max" and "Step Jam" were 9s!

Oddly, I think MIC is around a 6 -- I find it fairly easy -- even with an 8 in step, but a bit on the boring side compared to Cathe's Masterpieces like "Step Blast" and "Low Max"

I have to wonder how on earth Cathe can keep on and on producing the most interesting and challenging videos on the market and not have tons of awards -- there will never be another Cathe Friedrich, IMO!

Thanks so much for the ratings -- I love them! I always enjoy surveys and seeing how people vote!

And I am now even MORE TERRIFIED of IMAX 3! I have never feared a video so much in my life!

the list did help me orde. I hope they update it soon. I went and looked at the clips an I'd say there were pretty right on cause some. I'm not even touching. then I said, well what can I touch?? I found some:) lol But the cardio. no way. I don't want a heart attack any time soon.

RE: RESULTS ARE IN!!! Ultimate Guide to Cathe's Workou...

I am working off this post to type in some of the abbreviations that are used. I hope that this is ok. If I miss something that is universally used, please chime in. I may miss something cause I am on the verge of a migraine, so thanks in advance. Some abbreviatons will have: &, and, /, spaces, etc... between letters, but you can get the idea.

The initial post is also a good guide to use when looking for workout substitutions.

Well if you are a new comer, goodluck and welcome to the board.

RE: RESULTS ARE IN!!! Ultimate Guide to Cathe's Workou...

Jordan,

You are a sweetheart! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. :7

I hope your head feels better soon. Rest.

Will there be ratings for the complexity of the cardio workouts?

I'm wondering if there will be ratings for the complexity of the cardio workouts. I believe the ratings right now are for intensity level, right? I think it could come in handy because I'm sure there are a lot of intermediate/advanced people (like myself) who have two left feet when it comes to complex choreography. Just a suggestion :)

That explains why Bootcamp still kicks my butt. ;-)

"UPDATED "ULTIMATE GUIDE TO CATHE'S WORKOUTS""

Thank you to everyone who scored the new Hardcore workouts so that the user rankings (originally compiled by the lovely Sabine) could be updated.

I list below all of Cathe’s workouts categorized and ranked from easiest to hardest, using a scale of 1 to 10. This should be of benefit to anyone considering future purchases of Cathe’s workouts.

Some notes on the rankings:

The rankings were compiled by taking an average of everyone’s responses for each workout. These averages are based on the responses of approximately 25-30 users.

The focus of ranking is on workout intensity as opposed to complexity

1 = A workout that is quite easy and well suited to beginners
5 = A workout that is not easy, not hard and well suited to intermediate exercisers
10 = A workout that has an 'OH MY GOSH' factor, is very intense, and challenges even the most advanced exerciser

Hi all,

I thought I would copy this post from the updated thread, in order to consolidate the information. I haven't had time to go over it myself, but it has been helpful to others.

I hope Michelle dosen't mind.
