resistence bands

Hi Cathe,
I am presently using the 4DS DVD but the resistence bands I have are to short even when I put them around my knees. None of the stores in my area have longer resistence bands. Do you know anywhere I could purchase longer bands?

Thanks,
Joanne:)

DebbieH,
Thanks so much for the info!!! I sure will be glad when I get the longer bands and so will my knees.

DON'T USE THOSE SHORT BANDS!!! Don't even attempt exercising with the one's you have. A too short band was how I injured my right shoulder. I was very lucky I didn't do permanent damage. Even after considerable physical therapy I still have to be very careful. Until you have bands that are 6ft in length, leave it be. Trust me. Those short bands are so dangerous they should be illegal.

I love the 4DS but after hearing what happen to you I think I will skip the the band routines until I get the 6ft bands. They should be in soon because I ordered them yesterday. Thanks for the warning!!!

Yea, every time I used the 5ft band I would struggle like crazy. I bought the band at Target and just assumed it was okay because nobody ever told me 6ft is the standard. I ordered four 6-ft bands of different resistances to use after I got through physical therapy. I'm still using the lightest resistance and I'm very careful I'm doing everything right before joining in. I should have known something was wrong the very first time I used the 5-footer. It was more like wrestling than working out. I didn't mean to scare the be-jeezes out of you it's just that I have two co-workers who've injured their shoulders to the point where they're going to have trouble the rest of their lives - one is back to work after a year off, he's still on light duty and having problems. I came just shy of rotator cuff damage. Sometimes, you just KNOW it's not simple muscle soreness so listen to that warning feeling :).

YAY! I just came to the boards with the same questions. I can't do any of the 4DS band work with my bands (also got at target). I am off to purchase the 6 ft ones!
