Actually, it sounds more appetizing than having to sit through an hour looking at those freaky chicks again! I saw the last 20 minutes of it before, and that was enough for me. I'm afraid my face will get stuck in a "disgusted" look if I watch it again!

I know I'm late to the party but this is not right (scrunchy face, shaking head).

It's late, the TV is really low, and I'm confused  . I thought I remember seeing a thread by the same title as this show that I just happened upon. Originally, I thought this thread was about eating fast food. I think I would have rather seen the fast food program. But I digress, I came here to verify if this was a third category of body building but I guess this is passing for the women's category. It is just not what I remember.

This is not healthy and does not portray the physique of a beautiful women,

>I saw it last night.

Me too! These women...I felt bad for them. To me there is no difference between someone who damages and abuses her body by supersizing it with steroids and someone who damages her body by starving it. These women even sounded like men. Sad.

DH was funny though, he kept saying, "Babe, I'm telling you, those are DUDES." :D

LAST NIGHT?!?! Argh! I want to see this stupid show but it's never on when the website says it will be on, then it's on at other times. *shakes fist in the air as though it helps*

I didn't see the entire program but I'm finding it hard to believe these women aren't hitting "the juice". JMHO. Some of the look and sound like freaks. Again, JMHO.

Oh, they definitely are on 'roids, and probably human growth hormone as well. You can tell by their masculin voices, their squared-off jaws, their bad skin (and though we didn't see it, they probably have 2" long "female parts").

To me, they often looked like transvestites...but with more muscle! (And not as pretty!).

I just don't get at what point a woman would go from wanting to look like a fitness contest winner (like she did at the beginning of her career--still looking like a woman), to looking like a man?

It's when "women"(perhaps this should be in quotes?) started looking this way that the Ms Olympia contest started losing a lot of its audience, and the "fitness" competitions were begun (with contestants who have the physiques of earlier women body builders in the 80's, like Rachel McLish, Gladys Portuguese, etc. ).

I saw it too. I just can't believe there is a "market" for anything like that in the popular culture. They themselves admit they are doing it because the judges reward it. I agree, it is self-abusive.

Wow! I just happened to see this as I was flipping through the channels last night, and I was just amazed at what this woman is doing to herself to win a contest that doesn't have much of a prize! It seems to me that she thinks she has no choice, except to keep trying to win. Evidently, she needs a reason for her self-mutilation otherwise there would be no point to it, yet even with her stearoid abuse she isn't winning.

I think it's interesting to ponder how people are so quick to turn to fitness enhancing drugs, but there is a limit to what even the drugs can do. Where does it end? If everyone takes the drugs to be on the same level then nothing is gained, and the athletes ultimately lose or at least pay the price with their health. It's frightening.
