Reflections of 2005

What wonderful, encouraging people come here. This forum is the best. Now, my only question is who will be the straight man, Shelley or me?

When I think of all
>the little things that have stressed me out or caused high
>anxiety I am struck by their insignificance in the grand
>scheme of things.

2005 brought:

The knowledge that my children are the loves of my life and keep me young.
The continued good health of my immediate family
Breast cancer remission for my mom and a benign scare for my stepmom
A fantastic employer that has provided me so many opportunities to grow and succeed
The knowledge that the support and comfort of marriage are more significant than the dullness and frustration of marriage
The first entire calendar year of working out with Cathe and the gains in so many areas that this had provided for me

That is inspired!! That is pure genius. That is so true.

It's been a rough year for me but I feel like as 2005 comes to an end it's getting better and better. Here are some good things that have happened to me in 2005:

(in no particular order)
*meeting the Texas girls
*Cathe road trip and meeting friends from the trip
*dh's decision to be sober
*finding doctors who have FINALLY made some progress in helping ds cope with ADHD/Asperger's issues
*getting experience as a personal trainer and realizing how fun it is
*running a half marathon and surviving
*bond between me and ds became stronger and stronger as we went through so much this year together

Wow, Foodie Sue. That is such a great line. I will make sure to remember that the next time you-know-who gets on my last nerve. Thank you for sharing such wisdom.:)

My girls are healthy
DH and I are doing better
We finally moved out of our little house
I discovered the Cathe forum, and its so addicting
All in all the year was great, made a few mistakes but we're learning from them. Next year hopefully will be alittle better, but theirs always something to be thankful for.

2005 has been a very tough year for me, but that being said:

DH and I finally bought our first house, our own real-live house and are no longer renting. A dream of ours for awhile so that was nice.

1. Above all the health of my DH and my two DDs and my Dad who got a clean bill of health post cancer.

2. Sadness leading to miracles: my mother's passing reconnecting us with her cousins who live 10 minutes from my brother and are spending the holidays with us. (and they are so fabulous!!)

3. Push ups on the toes - Boot Camp, Power Hour and ME!

4. Being employed and a woman and educated - which is rare thing for many women around the world.

5. Discovering Nip/Tuck!!!

6. Turning 42 and baby 42 looks pretty darned good.

Peace and Love to all,

Julie

My highlights of 2005:

1. A new job which is a much better fit for me than the last one I had!

2. The Cathe RoadTrip

3. Finding this forum and the knowledgeable people who hang out here which has re-invigorated my workouts with support, Mish Moshes and Rotations.

4. Good health for my family. No health crises this year!!! Yay!!!

5. Buying the Terminator DVD, Hard Core Extreme and Slow and Heavy Series

For me it has been a good year. I am thankful and hopeful that next year will be even better for ALL of us. Some of us have had unpleasant challenges this year and we all deserve a wonderful and healthy 2006 filled with new and challenging workouts. :)

This year has been good to me.

1. I got naturalized

2. I enrolled in college, classes start January (major in Health and Physical Education)

3. My family and I continued to be healthy and active

4. Although we have about $T25 less a year right now, we are able to make ends meet and don't have any debts except the morgage

5. We were able to rescue a little sweet dog from euthanization
