Rebounder...

I have been seeing the infomercial for this lately and it has sparked my interest. It is rather expensive for me to purchase but I was considering asking for it as a Birthday gift in a few months. For those of you that have it, is it worth the money?? Do you really get a good (knee friendly) cardio work out from it? Do tell!:)

TIA!:+

Hi, I bought my Urban Rebounder from HSN, about 2 months ago, I was able to pay it in 2 payments. So check it out...

And yes, it is easy on the knees....

To me it is worth the money....

Thanks Rhonda!:)

Terri, I know the offer on the infomercial comes with 2 or 3 work outs but I'm not sure about other offers. I'm gonna go check out HSN now...

I've been thinking about getting one, too. I had a cervical fusion a few years ago when I herniated a disc in my neck and I wasn't sure if this would be a safe workout for me. I had an opportunity to talk to my BIL over Christmas (he's an MD who specializes in physiatry--it's like rehab stuff) and he thought it would be okay since I'm several years out from my surgery now.

Step workouts are too hard for me anymore. I used to do them alot when I was younger but I need to modify them so much anymore that it's become more frustrating than anything. I am so choreography challenged and can't handle all the pivots and turns. I also don't like the plyo moves. It's he!! to get old--LOL!

Now the big question is, where would I store it--LOL!

I'm not sure but it appears that it could possibly fit under a bed...Rhonda, any input on this question? Thanks! :)

I am seriously considering it too Michele...as if I need any more freakin' equipment to clog up my tiny little house and give me more decisions to make when it comes to creating a rotation! YIKES! I guess I am just a glutton for punishment as well as ADDICTED to fitness equipment! lol }(

I REEEEEAAAALLLLLLYYYYYY want a treadmill but there is no way in he!! that we are getting one in this house! I have a spare room that I could potentially put it in but it's sooo clogged up with the rest of the stuff that has no where else to go that a treadmill wouldn't fit!!! GRRRRR! Well, as soon as we can afford to move, DH wants outta here so maybe I won't have to wait FOREVER to get one...ofcourse, by the time I can have one, I won't want it! ;) There is also that tiny little set back of cash too! They aren't cheap and we aren't rich! LOL :p

OH DEAR! LOL Well if you don't want to do step work outs anymore maybe you can sell that baby on Ebay to make room for your rebounder?? Unless of ofcourse you like to use it as a bench for weight work outs then that idea won't work...what about a closet??

LOL! I'm probably a great candidate for that show "Clean Sweep". Is that still on? My house is crazy. I have nice size rooms, but I don't have an attic or a basement, my closets are fairly small and jam packed! My spare bedroom is used for storage and the cat box--eeeeewwwwwwww! I do want to keep my step for the reason you mentioned--I use it as a bench and once in awhile I like to pretend I'm doing a step workout. LOL!

They say it folds up and slides right under a bed, but we have a water bed frame, nothing can go under it lol.

You can go read all the reviews it has, and I did notice it has 3 flex-pays now, and shipping is 10 something now instead of 14 something, gosh, its a good deal.

Oh boy Michele, sounds like you and I have the same problem only my rooms aren't even that big! x(

Well where do you do your work outs? Can you tuck it away in a corner some where in the same room?

QVC has two for half the price. Each comes with a 30 minute video. Wish I could figure out which would be the better buy!

I don't know which rebounder is in the infomercial but I bought a Urban Rebounder a few years ago from them using a special they had on the website. I paid $99 and got 6 DVD's and a folding rebounder with a stability bar and carrying case. I don't use the bar or case. I think the rebounder is very storable. The legs will lay flat so the whole thing could be easily shoved under a bed, or you could fold it in half to make it smaller. Folding it is sort of a pain so I don't, I just lean mine against the wall.

The UR has a pretty stiff bounce, which I like but some don't. I also have a Needak copy which has a softer bounce and I don't like that at all. The bounce feels soggy to me but some people like those better. The only thing I would like better on the UR is if it had a wider jump surface. Mine measures about 27 inches and it's not wide enough for all the plie jacks and those lovely jumping lunges of cathe's

My rebounder is my favorite piece of cardio equipment and I would use it every day if I didn't care about variety. I use it for all of cathe's high impact, but my favorite thing to do is just crank some music and go on my own. I get in the *happy zone* on the rebounder and don't want to stop. I like to do steady state cardio until I'm warmed up then I do intervals. I ended up selling all the UR DVD's. They were fine but I'd just rather freestyle to the music. I like the "Champion Rebounding" videos by Jerry James the best, if I were going to use videos. I have Tracie Long's G-Force but I don't use that one either, it's pretty basic.

So, I would definitey recommend a rebounder. I love high impact but my 47 year old joints don't love it anymore. I can get on my rebounder and jump like I'm 20 :7

I love my rebounder. I have the one by ReboundAir. It was recommended in Ann Louise Gittleman's Fat Flush Plan book. I bought this and work out to Tracie Long's GForce workout. Or, I'll just watch TV while I bounce. Yes, you definitely will get a good cardio workout without the stress in one's knees.

However, be sure you have an empty bladder before you start bouncing...

LOL!!! :7 :7 :7

I'll make sure I remember that!;)

Thanks everyone! I'll have to look around some more and decide if I will buy it on my own or ask for it as a B'day gift but I think you've SOLD me on it! }(

And if you are constipated...you won't be anymore!

I love using my rebounder for Cardio Coach workouts. I jog and sprint and do high runs while listening to the CD's.

You can also use a rebounder for some of the high impact moves in some of Cathe's workouts (MIC, KM).

I have a Needak half-fold, and I like it very much.

I was interested in cardio coach but presently have no way of utilizing it. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll have to keep that in mind!:)

Hello Rebounders....
I just bought a rebounder for the new year and want to use it for KM and MIC. I was wondering if you have to modify some of the moves? I can't seem to jump as fast as Cathe on the rebounder or I'd be flying across the room. On KM I am notable to do as many reps as CAthe. I haven't tried MiC yet. I do have Tracie Long's G Force which I like a lot, but have a feeling I'll be bored with it eventually. I was wondering what cardio dvds you do on your rebounder and any modifications?
Thank You!
Jen
