Ready to do it

Ok, I've been reading and researching and I've decided this site would be my best bet to get back in shape. A couple of months ago, I got the go ahead from my doctor to do this and I've been riding my mountain bike at my max heart rate and I do about 15 miles. Not that far I know but my weakness is that I'm not that strong. My question is do I really need pre requisites for STS or can I build up in STS and keep doing the cycles over until I can do them sufficiently. Or what series should I do to get started?
 
I guess I should add I've added 45 pounds the last two years but was not able to workout until recently. I'm 54 years old and need to shed the weight I gained and tone up. Thanks.
 
I'd say that yes STS can work for you, because everything is based on your personal 1 Rep Max tests, so when you do the workout it is tailor made to suit you. It's an excellent program and you can easily repeat it as often as you want in the future as you progress to higher weight levels.

Yes, I have found this site to be the best as well. It now has all these great tools too so it by far surpasses all other sites.

The beauty of STS and why I feel it is worth the $$: you can grow and build on it. As the previous poster said, your 1 RM customizes and personalizes this workout. I think you will find that thjis program is challenging and fun. Cathe is awesome. She is upbeat and realistic and will grit through it with you.

I am finishing out the second week of meso 2 and I have never worked this hard or efficiently before. i have even worked out with several personal trainers over the years and this program is to the point and on point. It is so well organized and it just flows. I can't say enough good things about it.

The nice thing is that any level can jump in and start it. Your 1 RM serves as the base. So there is really no guess work about which weight to choose for the exercises. The program tells you what to use, how much of a break to take, etc.

I hope you get it and love it as much as I do. I think this is by far her best program yet!
 
I did it.

OK. I ordered the STS series. I feel pretty good about it. I can just repeat cycle 1 until I feel ready for cycle 2. Hope I don't have to do it more than twice. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for your response. That does help. I'm getting ready and almost got everything now. Just came back from the fitness store with 200 square feet of puzzle type rubber flooring and some power blocks. Already had some weights that I haven't been able to use and my treadmill. I just need the beach ball and the steps and I'll be ready when the tapes come. You know, I don't know why the men don't come and post here. Seems like sound advice given here.
