Just wondering when the "future release" would be out for the proper way to do the 1RM for the dumbbells. SNM Videos said they would address this in the future, that some people write down the incorrect info for the weight of a dumbbell. Will this be with a posting to the website?? That info would would be helpful to me now, since I am just starting STS. Also info on the the proper weight to include for the barbell would be helpful too.
Thanks a bunch.

Hope this will help you since you are starting STS!

Barbell - Use the total weight of the plates. Some people include the weight of the bar as well in their total. That's what I do since my bar is 11 pounds and that can make a big difference!

Dumbbells - Here's where the real issue is. Some use just the total weight on one dumbbell as their 1 RM total (that's what I do) and others use the total weight of both.

For example: Let's say you are doing your 1 RM for overhead shoulder presses. You put 5 lbs. on each dumbbell. You can either a) enter 5 lbs. as your weight you used or enter 10 lbs. The trick is remembering which way you did it and staying consistent with all of your 1 RM tests with dumbbells THEN remembering you did that when you start the actual program.

Hope this helps you get started and I didn't make it more confusing!

Thanks syzygy314, that does help. I just wrote down the total I put on the barbell and then for dumbbells the total of one dumbbell. Just wanted to know if I was doing it right.....and thanks for all your responses to peoples questions. It is nice to now that there are people that are on the site alot and you can rely on then for feedback!!!
I am looking forward to seeing my progress in the months to come!!!
