Question re:Cathe's ankle weights

Hi Everybody!

I'm still considering what to buy with my coupon.

One question I need answered for those of you who have bought Cathe's 10# ankle/wrist weights: are they adjustable in the weight you can have in them or are they just only 5# each. If they are adjustable, in what increment: 1/2#, 1#?

I plan on using them for microloading (or do you think this is a bad idea?) I would eventually like to purchase pace weights, but for now, this is a cheaper option for me.

Thanks and Happy Shopping to all!

Gina, I'm glad you posted this. :)

They are 5 lb. ankle weights and NOT weight-adjustable. 5 lbs on each ankle, and that's it.

I know the video paired up with it states they are adjustable in 1/2 lb. increments and good for microloading, but that's not the case. Customer Service is aware of the confusion, and it sounds like they will be taking steps to fix it soon.

I use adjustable ankle weights (bought a long time ago) for microloading, and they work well enough. It's a pain to change the weight amount for different exercises, so I would recommend having 2 pair. That way, you can have say...2 lbs. loaded in one pair, and 3 lbs. loaded in another, ready to use for the various exercises. Mine are usually loaded at 1.5 and 3 lbs, and I have a pair of 1 lb. gloves too.

Pace Weights would definitely be easier. I'd love to buy them, but I've bought enough Cathe stuff lately  , and truthfully I can achieve the same thing ~ though less gracefully ~ with my crappy ankle weights.

Gina,

I have Cathe's 10lb ankle weights. Lori is correct, they do not adjust. I wanted to tell you that I considered the 5lb weights but decided to go for the big boys. I do not regret my choice. 5lbs is not as heavy as I thought. They are challenging, but that's a good thing.;) I think I would have outgrown the lighter weights rather quickly.

I've owned other ankle weights, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cathe's ergo style. The fit so much closer to the ankles and are a lot less bulky than all the others I've owned.

I was wondering this too...are all cathe's ankle weights listed with the weight per pair or is the weight per ankle? In other words, what does "2 lb. ankle weights" mean - 2 lbs each side or 1 lb each side?

Shelby,

The 2lb are 1lb each ankle.
5lb - 2.5lb each ankle, 10lb- 5lb each ankle.
HTH:)
