Question for Christi fans!

August

Cathlete
Oh my, my, my!!

I just tried Christi Taylor's Happy Hour High/Low...I've actually had it in my closet for almost 2 years and hadn't even looked at it. I'm a loser!

OH MY GAWD!

This is just about the most fun I've ever had with cardio in my life (I pretty much do only Cathe's kickboxing - which of course I love - I'm a total dance klutz). I am literally shocked. I LOVE this workout like I can't believe. (Which isn't to say that I can actually DO the steps just yet ;) but I'm getting better and it's really exciting for me!)

And if any of you know me from the Cardiohatesville checkin, then you know this is HUGE!! :D

This has really given me the dance bug. First time in my life! I'm so thrilled! Maybe I'm not a klutz after all!

I really like the hip-hop flavor, street-feel moves.

Could someone tell me if her other workouts are like this? I checked out what I could on Collage but couldn't really get a good sense of them.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I've been trying to tell all you cardio haters for ages that the secret to enjoying cardio is to find something you think is fun! Glad to see you "got" it!

Neither of your responses helped me at all!

Though I did get a good laugh. :D

Now, can someone actually answer my question before I run out and buy all of Christi's workouts? :)

P.S. I do love kickboxing...it's the dancing stuff that I didn't get until now ;)

I have 3 of her step workouts, and they ARE fun. A little tricky to catch onto, but worth the effort. I would love to get all her cardio workouts.

I haven't tried any of her hi/lo, but I do have Totally Cool Step, which is super super fun. Makes me feel like a dancer. I also tried Solid Gold Step from Netflix, which was very fun also, with a little more complex choreo. If you go to her website, they're having a sale on some of her stuff. I'm very tempted....

I've got Solid Gold step & hi/lo, Humble Beginnings (which includes her earliest step/hi lo--one of which I had in VHS & wanted the DVD), both the Heavenlys & the Still Stepping/Jumping and Stepping Zone. Obviously I'm a Christi fan & I think she is F---U---N!! I will say that her choreography is considered to be complex, but I personally like something that is a bit of a mental challenge and I've been able to master all of her moves.

I don't have the Totally series, I understand it's a bit easier than her earlier work. You might want to try to get the Fantastic Four DVD--it has both of the Heavenlys and the "Still" series on it. I reach for this one a lot when I just want to do something fun!

I LOVE all of her hi/lo videos!! Every single one...they not only challenge my body, but also my brain...She is coming out with 12 new workouts this year that can be played on your computer...I guess we can download them!? Not sure, just got the announcement. I cannot wait!

She rocks!

I have just recently become a huge fan of Christi's workouts. I have Totally Cool Step, Totally Hot Cardio, Fantastic Four and CIA 9801. I love her complex choreography. I love turning and so does Christi so I have a blast. It may be a little tricky at first but Christi is excellent at cuing. I also think her music is the best. It really gets you in the mood and she is so much fun. I also like that she makes it challenging. I get bored very easily and I love dancy choreography. She also does step with it facing vertical as well as horizontal which makes it a little more interesting.

Hope this answers your question.

NOBODY SAW ME HERE!!

Michele or whoever you are, you must have me mixed up with someone else.

:+

Anyway, thanks for your responses. I guess it's hard to say whether her other cardio workouts have those street-feel moves in them or not. But it's certainly obvious most all of Christi's workouts are a load of fun, so I think I'll just give them a whirl!

Ha! We cardio lovers have gotten another one. I think Christi is alot of fun. Step Heaven is my favorite of hers, but I like Solid Gold Step too. I don't have any of her High/Low workouts. I may have to look into these.

I like Christi too. I have her Fantastic 4 set- Hi/Lo heaven/ Step Heaven/ Still Jumpin'/ Still Steppin'. They are lots of fun & she does have good choreography!

Hugs,

Hi there,
I LUV Christi's workouts, they are so much FUN. I highly recommend Fantastic Four: Still Steppin and Step Heaven are - Fantastic! The music is so motivating and you can sing along with it. Yes, her steps can be complex, but she usually has an easier section and a more complex section. But she cues so well you pick up the moves in no time. Haven't tried the floor aerobics tapes yet, but have watched them a few times and they look like major fun too. Like you, many months will pass from when I receive the DVD and when I actually do it. And I usually then regret having waited so long. I've had Step, Jump & Pump and Kick, Punch & Crunch for nine months, but haven't had the courage to do them, however you've motivated me to try them (I'm so 'impressed' with your two year wait, I'd hate to break your record!):7

I have all the Christi Taylor workouts I could buy, and I love every single one of them! Her choreography is complex, but once you get used to her style, you catch on quickly and can even get through a new workout without having to stop and rewind too many times. She doesn't jump as much as Cathe does, so I find that I just add jumps to keep the intensity level up - of course, that depends on the day. Mission Possible is of a lower intensity and easier choreography and is probably my least favorite of all her videos, but it is still a lot of fun!

Yes, as someone else mentioned, you can sing along to her workouts, and what a motivator that is! I recommend every single one of her workouts.

About the only thing I don't like is that she says "watch me" sometimes and doesn't state exactly what she's doing. That makes it a bit tough to catch on to new moves, but you get used to it. I also like that her workouts are generally an hour or less, although there are a couple that go to 90 mins., but you can stop at 60 mins. if you like.

Her website is having a heck of a sale right now, too.

Hi Low heaven, Hi Low heaven!!! You will love this one as well! I haven't tried Happy Hour, but due to your description I would like it I bet. I'm not into a lot of her new ones, they aren't as street dancy, as you put it. They're ok, but just not as fun for me, and I think that the intensity has gone down just a bit. Now I Haven't tried anything past Just for Fun, so maybe I'm making a bad assumption. But due to what I've heard about the music I'm guessing that I wouldn't like them as much.

Kathy

Geez, you guys are forcing me to buy so many :D . But how can I pass them up?

I'm going to try:

Fantastic Four
FunkTional Fitness
Totally Hot Cardio
Mission Possible

And I'm on the fence about Solid Gold Cardio.

Cry your eyes out, Kate! I'll boogy on over and wipe those tears away! }(

And Jenni - definitely try out KPC and KM! Tons and tons of fun!

Thanks everyone!

And for those who haven't tried Happy Hour...it is TOTALLY fun (no brainer comment there)! Don't wait like the fool I was! :D

I'm glad to hear that more of her workouts have that "street" feel. Man, I just love that!
