Question for Cedee fans

shaan

Cathlete
This is a real innocent question. So I hope Cedee forgives me for asking!

I was wondering if one of you regular Cathe fans could help me out with Cathe's Cedee and her physique.

She is a hit, she is hip and she is super fit! She is right there with every moves and is I think all the workouts I have previewed on the site. However, her body has not changed like Cathe's has over the years.

I was just wondering why that would be? I mean she is obviously fit enough (unless they take like 50 retakes per workout! ;-) which I don't think they do) to complete all the workouts with Cathe but she has always been plump (in a very cute way, no offense please).

One thing came to mind was maybe she doesn't workout regularly - but how could that be possible? Cathe's workouts are sooooo addictive, she has got to be one of Cathe-ites! No?

I personally think her physique has changed. If you look at her body in MIC and then look at it in Power Hour, her arms are much more cut now and her chest is striated. I have always been a fan of Cedee's and always thought she looked great (and always manages to keep up with Cathe too!) but I think her body has changed. That is just my opinion though.

I agree with Jillybean (love the name!)...I just love Cedee, she's the greatest. And her body has definitely changed over the years. At this point, she looks quite fit to me.
The funny thing is, sometimes I think she does a move even better than our Cathe. She obviously practices because she has perfect form.
My 2 cents!

She has changed some, but it does not appear dramatic to me either. But consider this--have you changed dramatically since doing Cathe? I haven't.

****Ok, let me pause here. Maybe if you are fairly new to working out or didn't work out so hard previously, you may have seen some dramatic changes, but otherwise...

It is NOT easy to make major shifts in the body. I think to get as lean and muscular as Cathe, you really need to lose a lot of fat, get rid of water weight, and build a lot of muscle. And in my opinion, this requires demanding diet changes. I think it must take low carbs (not no carbs, but low carbs) and lots of protein. I say this because I eat fairly well, work out hard almost every day (for the past 12 years), and I look more like Cedee than Cathe.

Maybe Cedee hasn't been willing to sacrifice her diet in such a way. I know that is my problem. Plus, she has had a baby some time in the past few years. So some physique gains would have been lost.

So, to sum up, I think the issue is diet--oh yes, and genetics, not her work out program.

And for the record, I think she looks great! Like her hair in S&H too, nice color!

Shaan,

First of all, nobody minds your asking. ;-)

I agree with Jill, Ruth and Jeanne -- I think Cedie's body has changed quite a bit over the years and that she looks fantastic. I also think Jeanne's point is very well taken re: the amount of effort and rigor it would take to transform your body into an ultra-lean, ultra-cut physique.

But I think another important point we've not mentioned is that Cedie's got an entirely different body shape than her pal Cathe. Cedie's just naturally got more of a curvy, bosomy body. She is a phys ed teacher, Shaan, and stays in great shape. Even in great shape, though, she's just a curvy girl. Smaller, leaner curves -- but curves. (And nice ones! :))

And the point of that is that there are lots of body shapes out there amongst us women, and the best any of us can ever shoot for is to make our OWN body as healthy and fit as we can. I'm sort of the rectangle boyish shape, for example -- not much chest, not much waist, tend to gain weight in the midriff area and not in my arms and legs. There's nothing I can do that will EVER give me a curvy waist, much as I'd love to have one. When I get fit and lean, all that happens is that my overall rectangle shape gets smaller. :)

Cedie's always been such a crowd favorite here on the Forums, no doubt in part because she's always so sunny and likable, she does have fantastic form on Cathe's moves, and therefore she's a lot of fun to watch. But I also think we love her in part because she DOES represent another whole body type than Cathe, and she represents it really well. She's had two babies, she lives a normal life (exercise is not her whole life) and she gets better looking and fitter with every video. She's an inspiration for every mommy who thinks her abs will never recover, and she's an inspiration to every curvy Cathe fan who looks at Cathe's physique and thinks "That will never be me." Well, they're right -- Cedie's their poster girl!

wonderfully worded KathyS

I agree whole heartedly with every word of your post Kathy S. and if I may add....

What stands out as MOST impressive to me about Cedie is her stamina throughout every workout. As a fellow "bosomy" female, Cedie gives me the motivation I needed many days. Times when too many plyo jacks or air born jumps seemed to work against me "gravity wise", I'd say to myself, "okay Donna, Cedie's knocking them out, so if you have to grab hold of the suckers to stop the bounce, you're doing them too!" Plus, I can't tell you how many times I've almost fallen off the step because my mind wandered and I found myself thinking things like, "can you imagine the stamina these women must have in their day to day interactions with their kids!?" "Where some moms have been run ragged by days end, any mom that can knock out Interval Max and still be smiling at the end like Cedie, has got to be time enough for any kid!"
I find her body has changed as well, not as dramatically as Cathe's, but who's to say she wants it to? Possibly she's happy just being in peak condition and fit and healthy. :)
Cedie is a role model for me, and I applaud Cathe for having so many diferent shapes and sizes in her crew. It reinforces for me that we are all different, and we should appreciate our bodies regardless of the genetic package we've been given.

RE: wonderfully worded KathyS

Kathy S. & Donna, I totally agree with you. Also, I agree about the diet. I know I have to clean up my diet more. I'm thin, and in pretty good shape but my middle is still flabby and I'm pretty sure it is because I don't eat as good as I should. But I will keep working on that.

RE: wonderfully worded KathyS

Wonderful post Kathy - Cathe and her crew are a perfect example of how we all come in different shapes and sizes. Cedee is so graceful and wonderfully light on her feet. You don't have to weigh a certain amount or be a certain size to be full of energy and stamina. I hope I am not the only one but I definitely do not think she is plump. Skinny she is not but plump, no. She is my idea of someone who is just right. If I look like her after having kids I will die a happy woman!

RE: wonderfully worded KathyS

Cathe needs an old chick in her crew, and I volunteer!

RE: wonderfully worded KathyS

Hi Donna,

As a fellow "bosomy" person, thanks for the laugh...I've had to grab & hold sometimes too! HA! Just glad I'm not the only one.
I have learned to wear at least 2 workout bras which usually keeps the bounce down to a tolerable level!

Great posts from everyone here, plenty to think about.

RE: wonderfully worded KathyS

Agree 100% with all the above posters, but bear in mind that the camera tends to add some weight, I'll bet Cedee (and all cast members) look even tinier and fitter in person!

RE: The camera and justice

I have seen Cedie in person and NO the camera does NOT
do her justice. She is a TINY person. The fact is, all
of Cathe's crew is tiny. You'd think that Rhonda would
be VERY tall, but she is not. I think the camera does
different things to different people.

I also would like to say that Cedie looks fanastic to
me on camera and even more so in person.
