Question about Squats

Hi Cathe; my chiropractor is telling me that it is not good for your back to perform barbell squats is this true? Are all squats considered bad for your back or does it depend on how much weight and if you use a barbell or dumbbells?

Thanks.
:)

Hi Cass! If you are experiencing pain in your back while squatting, then squatting with ANY weight on your back will aggravate this situation. In this case it would be better to squat without any weight at all or do wall squats with a stability ball. This will keep your leg muscles strong and challenged without irritating your current situation.
