Question about Needle Biopsy for Thyroid

Celeste - you mentioned someone holding your hand...do you mean someone can come in the room with you and hold your hand DURING the procedure??

I had this procedure done 2 yrs ago. It really was not that bad.
It just felt like a little pressure but not really pain.
If they're offering you valium I would take it. It will calm you down and make you feel less anxious. Good Luck.

Good luck w/ the biopsy. Remember, you've been thru childbirth 3x--you can do this too!! Lots of good vibes are being sent your way from your many friends on this board.

I had the fine needle biopsy done in late Aug. I was able to go back to work right after it was like a blood draw, I was never given anything not bad at all . the biopsy can back questionable, I had surgery on 9-14-09 never in pain after the surgery. Oh by they way the results of the surgery report was no cancer.

I haven't had this procedure done, which amazes me since I've demanded just about every other test there is because I'm such a hypochondriac. But it sounds like you've gotten some pretty good advice here. Everyone who has been through it says it's nothing to be worried about. Just concentrate on all the good things and KNOW that you are going to be fine!!!!!

I had the procedure done in July. Just a slight pinch and nothing but a band-aid afterward.
