I'd recommend getting more weights. I initially did the pyramid with the same weight and then as I gained more weights (Xmas presents) I followed the pyramid method. What a difference! I saw more definition in my biceps, triceps and an increase in my strength for chest and back. Sometimes doing the down part of the pyramid is harder than the increasing weight part of the pyramid due to the fatigue of the muscles but those extra reps with the lower weight really gives definition. I'm actually considering getting 25 lb weights for Christmas as I can now do the 12,15,20,15,12 lb combination for back without dying.
