I've been doing this one since it came out years again, but today, I decided to use dumbbells for every segment instead of the barbell (I usually use a dumbbell/weighted vest just for the leg presses).

AMAZING difference. I wore my weighted vest and used 15s, 20s, 25s. Not having to futz around changing the plates was great and it gave me a little extra rest time. I was able to focus on my form better, as well.

My forearms got a great workout, too, particularly during the lunges. ;)

It was a good reminder for me that switching up equipment can make a old favorite a whole different experience, in a good way.
 
I am a huge fan of dumbbells; you are right, they definitely work the biceps and forearms! Nice job changing it up and getting such a great, new experience and workout!
 
Thanks for sharing this. I will definitely try this because some days I just don't feel like having to keep switching the plates on the barbell. This will be a great alternative. :)
 
I tried changing my plates a few time but just can't seem to change them as fast as Cathe and crew so I use the dumbbells now. I need to try the workout with my weighted vest and see how I do.
