Push It

Happy Friday!

Today was CCC followed by the warmup, step combo 2 and 3 from step moves. Step Moves is fun, but a bit too easy cardiovascularly so I like to do it after a kick butt workout. CCC sure fits the bill. No pushups today, so I had to modify some of the moves. Can anyone do the squat drop and roll into a jump and keep pace with Cathe? Or the core in segment 5? That's much the same move but rather than jump you shoot your legs back into a pushup (for me I just do the plank, still can't keep up!)

Heartymax Don't be so modest about your weight, curling 25 lb dumbbells is an accomplisment no matter how many reps. I am pretty sure I can't even do 1!!! I haven't done slow and heavy yet, how's the music? What are your favorite ab workouts? I like the abs on butts and guts and weights & plates from ab circuits. 4DS has some good ab work too. I just did Bootcamp yesterday, and I liked that ab work. I might try to do the core premix one of these days.

Natty How is Bella feeling? So glad you liked BM2! What did you think of the UB work? I find it short and sweet, but she moves through the exercises a bit quick, I end up having to rewind to get the weights I need, as I can't only use 5s and 15s.
As for STS I plan to double up by adding Hiit to a weight day, here is how I think my schedule will go. Depending on my schedule, I may flip flop Saturdays and Sundays. It just depends on which day I have more time.

Monday Off
Tuesday - STS UB
Wednesday off
Thursday STS LB
Friday cardio
Saturday STS UB and Hiit
Sunday cardio

And lastly, I find those elevated lunges super hard too, the hardest move in that workout. She has that move in B&G and it kills me there too. But usually I start to fatigue in my hip flexor first.

Have a great day.

Susan --my favorite ab work is Butts and Gutts. My abs on are always on fire after that workout.

Stacie My son is doing better. We will continue to rest this weekend and let him return to school on Monday. Kudos on seeing the definition changes. I don't have the squat rack discs. Since I have a 20lb weighted vest, I am sure it will work fine even without the squat rack. Maybe I will put it on my Christmas list. NO purchases for me all year since I got myself an elliptical earlier this year. I know I have mentioned that on the forum already---but it's just a reminder to myself:D

Natty I wouldn't be able to get through 10 minutes of Body Max 2 on an 8inch step. I love that workout----music and just everything about it is awsome. I keep my step at 6 inches. 8 inches with DOMS from LBB already????----girl you are AWESOME!

Good morning ladies :)

Thank you for the complements on BM2 Heartymax, Susan & Stacie. You guys made me blush . Honestly, I never thought it was that big of an accomplishment. Perhaps because I bi-passed the weighted leg work making the blasts easier. CCC, Imax 1&3, 40/20 and Intensity are all harder for me. Everyone has their strength/weaknesses. When I can conquer all those leg lift in TB, I will surely give myself a pat on the back ;).
Bella is feeling better and we were both able to get a decent nights sleep. Today will be High Reps followed by walking, as it looks like we are finally getting some nice spring weather (again!!).
Stacie
I'm glad you like BFBM. No equipment cardio, it's great. Kinda like CCC but a few notches down in intensity.
I see Weider X-Factor in stores everywhere. It looks very good. Correct me if I'm wrong, it uses bands/tubing?
Was it you who posted the squat link and how it improves overall musculature?
Susan
Your rotation looks very good. I might use your idea about doubling up for a 5-day workout week, but instead I might do steady state+hiit. I like your CCC/Step Moves combo. How long was that workout?
No way, I can't do the 3 jumps forward, drop down into a push-up as fast as Cathe! Is that some kind of a cruel joke? I usually do a burpee after the jumps. You know what, instead of Imax2 tomorrow, I will do CCC and let you know exactly what moves I have problems with. I realized why that workout has dread factor for me, it's the repetition of the exercises within the circuits. It's the same w/Afterburn. I'm going to try and make a pre-mix on my blender where I do just 1 set of exercises from CCC combined with 1 set of exercises from Afterburn.
Heartymax
I'm happy to hear your son is feeling better.
Curling 25lbs is insane! I don't care if that was low reps, you should still be proud. Biceps are my weakest along with triceps. I'll be lucky to come out of STS curling 15lbs .
Yes, the music in BM2 is great. That workout just flows so well. I now know why it has such a huge fan base. Have you tried 1? It's pretty tough too. Very athletic-style moves on the step.

Jennifer, Kara, Dana, Toni hope you all are doing well too.

Have a great w/e ladies!

Good Morning Ladies.

Natty----I have the 3 workout DVD with Power Hour on it. I think that is the one that has Body Max on it also. I can't remember. I use it mostly for Power Hour. I know I have done another workout on it a few times so it must be Body Max. I guess----but it has beena long time ago. I know for a fact that I have never tried the 3rd workout which I think is Maximum Intensity Strength.

Today was Slow and Heavy Legs and Shoulders. Waiting to see if I will have DOMS from this one. I like this how this rotation alternates Slow and Heavy and GS so I am not doing the same workouts each week for 4 weeks.

8 weeks until vacation!

Hello all! Sorry to be MIA the past couple days. My sleep pattern is off and this new rotation has kicked my butt this week, so I've been resting in the evenings a bit more.

Thursday was LIC. This was not my favorite. However, I was totally NOT in the mood to workout so I'm going to re-evaluate that after I do it again. I skipped about ten minutes of the workout at the end because I just couldn't get into it mentally. Probably was not the best day to pick a new workout. Friday was BootCamp. I was supposed to do GS Legs, but when I look and saw that it was 67 minutes of leg work I just couldn't do it!! My legs were already a bit fried from the elliptical and IMAX3. Plus I wanted to redeem myself from last week where I didn't finish BC. This time I got through it with no problems. I really like that one. I was able to match Cathe's weight on everything, so I felt good about it.

I think I'm going to make a slight change to the rotation. Instead of KickMax with the kicking drills, I'm going to do KPC plus the Ankle Weight pre-mix of Legs and Glutes. I've been wanting to do some floor work for my legs. I'm a bit afraid of the ankle weights, but I can lighten them or take them off if needed. I'm hoping my body has adjusted to the new workout. I am beyond tired today!! But this happens every time I switch my workout rotation. This coming week should be much better.

Everyone talking about STS really has me wanting to get it. But that is going to be a pretty big investment for me. I would need a Turbo Tower and more weights. Maybe I'll ask Santa for some help :). Either way I need to do a rotation of everything I have before I get into STS. Plus I want to fill in my cardio collection a bit as well. I need some shorter workouts for those days I really don't feel like working out. Any suggestions?

Susan
I like the way you mix up the different workouts for a given day. I really need to take more advantage of the pre-mixes so I can get the most out of my collection. Ive also thought about doing two workouts a day, but I think my body would stage a revolt...LOL!! You are in excellent shape to pull that off :)

HeartyMax
I'm glad your son is doing better. I have when my kids are sick.

I hear you on not buying anything else! I've spent quite a bit of money this year on DVDs and equipment, which is why I'm hesitant to get STS. I think I spent more on my home gym than I would if I went to a gym, but the workouts and results are much better(IMO). You never know what you will get from a gym instructor and you are stuck with who they have available.

Hello again. Today was KPC + the Ankle weight premix of Legs and Glutes. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to handle the ankle weights, but I surprised myself. I believe my ankle weights are 2.5 lbs and I could do most things. Glute sweeps and inner thigh lifts were the hardest. So that's what I'll be challenging myself with. I'm already starting to feel soreness set in on my legs :)

My next rotation will be a fat burning rotation. With that in mind I just ordered Drill Max and CCC. I'm a bit scared of both of them, but looking forward to it all the same!!

Hope everyone has a great start to the week :)

It's good to be back checking in with you all!

Natty, so glad to hear that Bella is feeling better. Way to go on BM2, by the way!

Toni, ankle weights? that's fantastic.

Heartymax, so the va-cay countdown begins! I'm happy for you! And, um, 25lb biceps?! That is so cool! You are so strong and motivating! So sorry to hear about the pneumonia. Craig (my husband) NEVER gets sick - except for when he gets pneumonia. He's had it 3 times now and finally got the vaccine.

Susan, sorry your shoulder is still giving you trouble and that pushups make it worse. I think I'm in the same boat... I did pushups Wed&Thurs but now my shoulder hurts. As for MMA KB, I agree - it must be the lack of cardio intensity that people don't seem to like about it but I'm with you - it is something light but perfect for when you need that, it's fun, and the 3rd combo gets the brain going:)

Stacie, So glad the work day with the kids was a success! In fact, I bet he is just trying to help you when he compares your exercises to Cathe's:)

Dana, That is funny about your husband dropping in to chit-chat while you're working out. Mine doesn't do that but he does think it's fun to imitate me:) Also, thanks for writing about the upper body work in BM2; that workout is still new to me and I've only done the legs/cardio once so I will look forward to seeing the moon and the stars.

As for me, I over slept Wednesday morning and had to do a quick HiiT 40/20 instead of Intensity or a circuit workout - but I sure did enjoy it (gasp!). AND - I was able to do 10 pushups instead of my normal 8:)

Thursday I did High Step Training - love it! There are more than one set of reps per body part (Susan) just so you know. In fact there are 3.

Friday I missed my workout altogether but Saturday I did Intensity, all but boot camp. This is the second time I did not skip the High impact HiiT segment; since my back/neck trouble started last year I had to give up a lot of the high impact and could only do it once a week.... so in Intensity I would go straight to the Low impact HiiT -- but my back and neck are doing so well now (weekly chiropractor visits are finally down to monthly visits) and I'm glad I am strong/healthy again... well enough to add in a little more high impact. I won't over-do it but it sure is nice to get some of it back into my routines.

Today was going to be High Reps but my shoulder was hurting so I figured I should skip the upper body. I went with Cycle max - figured I needed some good cardio and leg work since I endulged in quite a few pieces of desserts at a bbq yesterday:)

I guess the Muscle Confusion rotation is over - it was nice doing muscle endurance and then high reps; I definitely plan to keep up the style. I'm not sure which rotation I will do next, I might try the Low Impact rotation... decisions, decisions.

Have a great night, everybody!

Hello ladies :)

Today's workout was CCC instead of Imax 2. At the end, I was regretting not doing Imax 2 :(. I realized my dread from that workouts stems from the repetition of the exercises between the circuits. IMO, with a tough cardio like that, you really need to add variety to make it at least somewhat fun and bearable. Agree or disagree here, that's my take on it :p.
Jennifer
Did you really enjoy 40/20??? You know what, it's not that dreadful actually. You get a kick butt w/o in less than 30min and burn mega cals. And hardly any repetition :). You should be proud that you even pressed play...I've bailed on it many times .
I'm happy to hear that your neck/back are feeling better. Yes, the chiropractor is amazing. It's great that you are able to add in a little more high impact. Feeling strong and healthy is a wonderful thing :).
YAY on your push-ups too! 10 is a great number!
The Nov LIS rotation is very good, I enjoyed it a lot. My joints got a much needed break for one month, but after that I was craving my high impact again. So many great rotations, you can't go wrong. I wonder what Cathe will have in store for you this May...
Heartymax
Did you get the DOMS? ;)
You should give Body Max a try. I like the old style Cathe stuff. It's very basic/simple and yet SO hard.
Toni
You mentioned shorter cardio workouts, do you have the Hiit's? They are only 30min. Intensity has some great shorter w/o's in 30-45min with the pre-mixes available. Let's see...Athletic Step is 45min, MMA Boxing 45min, SJP & Step Blast great pre-mixes under 45min. 4DS has 4 awesome cardio w/o's all 30min. Non-Cathe stuff, all Jillian Michaels are around 30-45min. HTH!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend :)

Hi Natty,
Thanks for the kudos on my pushups! I hope to keep improving, but what I really hope is that I can AT LEAST make 10 my consistent number:)
I get your take on CCC, and I think a lot of people really feel that way. I just like IMax2 better, anyway, and maybe it's for the same reason as you; I don't know, really. I guess I don't get bored easily as long as I'm "busy" which may be why Cycle Max isn't my favorite.
Actually, 40/20 sort of has a dread factor for me - it is the hardest HiiT she has out I believe - and *of course* I don't look anywhere near as composed as Cathe and the crew, and as far as the butt-kicks over the 4-risers/step I haven't mastered that yet:) But definitely, I love the calorie burn and the exercises and that I'm finished in a half-hour (plus a stretch).

As for another 30-minute workout, sometimes I just do the first cardio part of Kick Punch Crunch and don't bother with the combinations... instead of the combos I do the glute/hamstring floor exercises. That puts the time around 40 minutes actually.

'kay - Craig is telling me that dinner is ready... he grilled chicken and corn on the grill; a nice evening after last night's storms - geesh, the lightening and hail were pretty scary!
Good night!

Hi!

It’s been a few days since I posted, so I’ll catch up on my workouts. On Saturday I did Drill Max. I haven’t done it in about 2 years and it’s TOUGH. There are a lot of pushups, but I still went easy on myself. Seriously Cathe is out of control with the pushups. This workout had dive bombers and core pushups, plus others. In the core pushup you bring your knee to your elbow when you go down. Seriously?!?!??! Who can do this?

On Sunday I did Athletic Step for the first time. I liked it a lot, but it is WAY too short. I got JMs Killer Buns and Thighs from the library so I added on Level 2 after the step workout. There were some good moves in there, but in the usual Jillian fashion she always seem so rushed switching from move to move that I worry about safety. I just can’t shift gears that fast. I think I will buy it eventually for a very good price only. I wish there were chapters so I can skip some of the stuff easily. I can’t believe I have gone from a HUGE JM fan to a disenchanted one.

Today was High Step Challenge, which is my favorite circuit workout. I don’t know why, it’s always my go-to circuit. It has a decent amount of pushups too, but I didn’t push myself too far, so I am definitely down in my counts.

On a personal note, we took my puppy to a specialist (neurologist) on Friday and she has a condition called syringomyelia, very common in cavaliers. It sounds terrible. Her skull is too small, so some of her brain matter pushes out, blocking the flow of spinal fluid. This pressures results in fluid filled sacs developing on her spinal cord. Some dogs never get worse, some get much worse. It’s a crap shoot, and I am sick to death. Her quality of life is fine, she plays, and the meds pretty much control the pain. Some dogs lose the ability to move their legs. I worry about what tomorrow/next month/next year will bring. It’s heartbreaking and what’s even worse is I keep thinking about the impact to my girls. They are 7 and 9 now and the last time we lost a pet, my oldest wasn’t even 2, and my little one wasn’t born. I don’t want them to have to live through that quite yet. UGH!!!!

Now I need to catch up with everyone! Sorry for the downer of a story. I just needed to say it.

Natty – The CCC/Step Moves (with only the WU and Step 2&3) was 90 minutes because I went back and repeated the core moves from circuits 1-4 from CCC. I love those ab moves. For circuit 4, I had to do a complete modification. I held in plank and brought my knee to my elbow, I think they might be called spidermans, because you look like him scaling a building. Did you end up mixing CCC and Afterburn? I do love circuit 3 in CCC, hate circuit 4. I dread this workout because I feel it beats me. I like when I have to push myself very hard but can accomplish it. In CCC, I can’t do some of the moves, or can’t keep the pace, so I feel defeated which isn’t good for me.

Heartymax- the Bodymax on that DVD is BM1, which is very similar to BM2 that Natty did, but BM2 is much more fun because of the music.

Toni – I did BC last week too for the first time in a long time. I liked it as well, it was tough but doable. The shock cardio series has a lot of short workouts. The MMAs are pretty easy aerobically though. I just started mixing things up doing premixes. I am not sure what is in your collection, but KPC has some shorter premixes, and you can always just do parts of IMAX. I just read you ordered CCC, that is TOUGH one. And Drill Max has a cardio premix. You are well on your way to shorter cardios!

Jennifer – congrats on working back up to high impact. I know how good that feels. I do love my chiro too. I don’t have neck trouble, but I sure can relate to back issues. Is it your upper, mid or lower back? Mine is low back, herniated discs that flair up. I have found an Ellen Barrett workout that helps stretch it out and it remains under control when I really focus on core work. I was thinking of doing High Step Training on Thursday, but now I think I will try to do weight work (High Reps and then Muscle Max on Saturday). I need to see if I am ready for STS next week. I agree with Natty November LIS rotation, it was great.

I probably won’t be back until the end of the week. I am working from home today, and going into the office Tuesday and Wednesday (2 rest days in a row YUCK) because our company is being bought out. The new company takes over tomorrow and it just seems right to be in the office.

One last question for everyone Do you think I can do a weight workout, like High Reps the day after Drill Max? I didn’t have any DOMS from Drill Max, so I am thinking I wouldn’t need a break from weights. After 2 rest days, that seems like a good workout to kick my butt. But I don't want to mess up my weight plans. Let me know what you think! Thanks

Have a good rest of the day!

One more thing...

Natty - I just saw your post to Cathe about STS. She hasn't been responding much lately it seems. I would think you would be totally fine switching up the discs within a given week. I will be doing that too, just because I want to add an Hiit to a weight workout, and it has to be on a weekend. So I have to do UB Tues, LB Thurs, UB Sat. Probaby best for me as well with my shoulder. I can't think of a reason it would be bad to switch it up like that.

Congrats on starting it today. WOO HOO. I am hoping to start next week so I won't be far behind.

Good morning everyone! I had a terrific post that I tried to do from my phone Sunday morning but every time I hit the Post button, it kept returning me to the log in screen. Grrr! Friday night I did half of High Rep, Saturday I didn't do anything, and yesterday I did Lower Intensity Step from 4DS in the morning and then some pushups (with the intent to do do GS Chest and Triceps). This morning I did half of GS Chest and Triceps before work. GSCT starts with 72 pushups. Last night I did 47 of them (all on my toes) with the highest consecutive number being 11. This morning I did another 36 in sets with the highest consecutive number being 7. Since I felt a little bit like a slacker for not doing the entire set in one workout, I did another 36 on my knees. I have been struggling to get full hour long workouts in since we have been extremely busy lately.

By the way, I got new Nike Air Pegasus shoes from Sports Authority on Saturday. They were at just a great price ($80 from $95) and then I had a 20% off coupon. Whoo hoo! She did up sell my on some gel inserts as well.

Shoot...gotta head to a meeting. Will write individual responses later. TTYL!

Susan, I am sorry to hear about your puppy. What a sad situation for you all to experience. Poor little guy! As time goes on at least you are teaching your children to take care of animals; sometimes a commitment is hard.
Way to go - keeping up with your workouts. You are dedicated to that, your family, even to your new addition (puppy) - you're awesome :)
As for the weights, I just don't know. the only thing I can say is to try it. It could be considered, I believe, the "overload principle" which is doing the same exercises for weeks in a row to train the muscles to handle the overload thereby making them stronger... something like that anyway.
And about my back, it's my lower L4-L5; one of those is my herniated disc which also gets irritated. That, with my scoliosis, I guess is a recipe for instability and neck trouble. Thank you for the Ellen Barrett suggestion; I'll have to check that out!

Stacie, great job keeping up with your pushups! So glad you found some good shoes and inserts:)

I needed to get to work super-early today (facial appt after work - yay!) so I skipped - I feel like I'm slacking since last week I also skipped a workout but I will find a rotation (possibly LIS with some high impact thrown in there somewhere) and stick with it. I think I may be needing a little break, actually.

Okay, my unofficial break is over. Enjoy your day!

Hello everyone :)

Today is the first official day of my STS/Shock Cardio rotation with M1, D3, Legs. I will be back tomorrow to report my afterthoughts. I'm hoping for serious ICSOTT DOMS (short for I Can't Sit On The Toilet ).
Susan
I wanted to cry when I heard about your puppy. That is so sad :(. I'm a huge animal lover and it breaks my heart. The only advice I can give you, is to take it day by day. Enjoy your puppy, play with her, love her, spend quality time with her. All she wants is to be taken care of and loved. As long as she is not suffering and can be offered medication to make her quality of life better, there is only so much you can do for her. I'm sorry you have to go through that.
I tried so hard to do the CCC/Afterburn pre-mix but the blender is so glitchy with mixed/old files that I gave up after 10 attempts . I even tried just doing a CCC pre-mix and that crapped out too. My DH laughs whenever I attempt to use the Blender. I will try to bring up the issue again on the forum.
After my BM2 accomplishment, CCC defeated me too. I can do all the moves, but I feel Cathe & crew are just way too fast with some of them (2 jumps forward into a push-up, roll back and then spring up to your feet and jump). I have been doing that workout for 1 year now, and it still kicks my booty hard. I understand your frustration.
Yes, you can do Drill Max after High Reps. I saw some rotations where Cathe has a bootcamp/circuit w/o after/before a weight training one. HTH!
Stacie
Wow on the push-ups!!!! Fantastic job!!!!!
Great choice on the shoes too. Nike never lets me down ;). I remember bringing my first pair to Cuba and we did this awesome tour of Lizard Island (a whole island with nothing but lizards! So cool!). Anyway, it was very hilly and rocky, and my bad boy trusty Nike's held up well. They should totally film a commercial there!
Jennifer
I love grilled chicken and corn on the cob! Very tasty! Next time try marinating it with VH Thai Coconut Red Curry sauce. Holy heaven! Does your DH like to cook or just BBQ?
Awww man, I miss doing spa treatments. I hope you had a lovely time at your facial. Getting yourself pampered is SO worth it. Great for the body and the mind. I'm a huge fan of acupuncture and deep tissue massage :). Have you done?
I think you will really like the LIS rotation. Yes, take a much needed break if your body is telling you to do so. For my STS recovery week, I'm not touching a weight, and I'm doing very light steady state cardio/walking.

Have a great day everyone!

Good evening :)

Today was 30 min elliptical, GS Chest & Tri, and CoreMax 1. I did the elliptical and GS in the morning and CoreMax in the evening. I was running out of time this morning. I think I am going to keep the CoreMax in the evening. I felt like I was able to get more out of the workout because I wasn't already tired. Even with that I still could not finish that plank series  My goal is to be able to finish it by the end of this rotation.

GS was much better today. I took a bit more rest between a couple of the tricep exercises today. I wanted to make sure I got everything out of it I could. I almost finished every rep of the triceps. Maybe next week. I can handle the chest part pretty good except the pushups. How does she do ALL those pushups??? I feel I may never get to that point. And what is it exactly about pushups that makes them so freaking hard...grrrr!!

I was able to eat 2000 healthy nutritous calories today(no junk), so it was a good day for diet. Also got at least 48 oz of water(very difficult for me). Hoping to keep that trend this week. My weight is up a pound or two because of potatoe chips last week  Only seven weeks until my cruise so I need to leave the chips alone!!

Jennifer
Glad to hear the back and neck are feeling better!!

Natty
My CCC was shipped today!! I'm hoping I don't have the dread factor when I do it. I'm not sure I have an opinion about repeated sets in a workout. I'll have to pay attention to that the next time I do a workout.

Susan
I love HSC also!! I was thinking about adding it in my next rotation, but I've already done that and I still need to do some of the ones I haven't done yet!!

I'm really sorry to hear about your puppy. That is really a tough situation. Hoping for the best for you and your family.

Stacie
Great job with those pushup!! That's definately an inspiration!!

Good morning ladies :)

I will make this short so everyone can catch up on reading previous posts, and respond later.

Yesterday was M1, W1, D3 (Legs). Great LB workout, loved it :). My butt, legs and even calves have nice DOMS today.

Today's w/o is M1, W1, D1(UB). I'm scared. Really, I'm not joking. It has
never-ending push-ups it seems. BBL to report...

Good day everyone!

Good afternoon everyone! Last night I didn't get a workout in but this morning I did a CCC premix. Good stuff...I am liking that workout more and more. It's tough but has a fun factor to it.

Jennifer
Way to go on the pushups!!!! Ten is a fantastic number and I recall correctly, a 20% increase from when you first joined the group. Awesome!!!

Corn on the cob is one of my favorite foods too! Soooo yummy! What a nice husband to make it for you!

Natty
Weilder ST is sold for pretty cheap at Walmart...less than $30 for 12 discs. Cheapest place I have found it by far. At first I was resistant to moving from Cathe but adding the JM DVDs has actually been a nice change. Cathe is still my favorite though.

Congrats on starting STS!!!! Honestly, if you do all the pushups in Meso #1 even on your knees you will feel some serious DOMS. Be glad it's summer -- it was painful to put on a coat the day after STS Chest discs. Based on some of the forum posts, it was actually the DOMS that made a lot of people not finish it. Just focus on Robert through the pain! ;)

Toni
I am totally with you on the pushups! I have no idea how Cathe does so dang many without even really breaking a sweat! I have decided that from now on I will pause the DVD and do them all on my toes no matter how long it takes me. I hope some day I can be as good as Cathe at them. Come to think of it, HeartyMax is pretty awesome at them too. We had a woman in the group at the start named Raciela and she could do 60 in a row!!!!!

Susan
I am sorry to hear about your puppy. I hope that she (or is it a he?) never progresses to a worse state. Our pets become like family and its hard to see them gets sick and suffer.

By the way, I would advise against doing any weights after a circuit workout like Drill Max. I know its hard to do but in the end you will reap the benefits from giving your muscles time to heal as well as not overtraining.

Kara, HeartyMax, and Dana
I hope you three are all doing well! Kara -- I hope you are enjoying your trip. HeartyMax -- I hope your son is recovering nicely. Dana -- Come back! We miss you!

Sigh....off to another meeting followed by another one. I think I would rather do pushups! ;)

oh - my - gosh... My whole body feels like JELLY I tell ya'!
First I did LIC Total Body Trisets (Upper Body) -- FRIED -- love that workout. Then I did Butts and Gutts (standing and floor). I had to hold on to the rail walking up the stairs! I feel great, though! I'm sure I'll have big time DOMS tomorrow - like Natty, I like feeling my hard work:)

Anyway, I remember splitting up an upper and lower body weight workout last week and I really liked that combo so I was glad I had extra time today to do a similar format again. (leaving work early for a chiropractor appt sort of opens up the day a bit more:))

I still haven't decided on a specific rotation so I think for now I am going to wing it. I recently got the 4 Day Split series so I would like to try that next week. I took a rest day yesterday and after seeing the chiropractor today I do feel ready to jump back in... not sure which cardio I will do tomorrow - my legs and arms will probably be fried!

Natty, Glad you got the DOMS you wanted! I'm also glad you enjoyed teh workouts. I understand being afraid of the next workout... just remember to listen to your body and that you will get better at the workout so be patient as to not hurt yourself.
I loved seeing all the lizards at the Myan Ruins in Mexico - I probably would not have liked them so much if they were in my room or chasing me.
My facial, it was great; I have been trying to do the mid-life maintenace thing and take better care of my skin. I have large pores that drive me nuts but every once in a while when I can buy a 6-month facial package I do it because it does help. I ordered a Clarisonic and should have it soon - I hear that will help with pores.
Acupuncture worked fabulously well on my wrist when I broke it years ago (the plate/screws had to come out a year later) - but luckily I haven't really needed pain relief via acupuncture since then... the chiropractor has been a miracle worker for my back/neck and he is less expensive than the acupuncture - I feel so strong and good now:) I definitely keep up with the massages (once a month); sometimes deep tissue but other times not quite so deep - just relaxing. In fact I have one scheduled for next weekend! yay! I really need to keep up with epsom salt baths, though. Something to work on.
Oh - as far as Craig, I am very lucky - he does like to cook and he's GOOD at it! I don't know how he does it but he just seems to know how to throw things together... I need a recipe! In fact I think sometimes he cooks specifically because he doesn't want to eat my cooking :)
Stacie, When you put it like that - "20% better than when I started" it sounds much more impressive than "increased by 2." Thank you:) I hope your meetings went well.

Toni, be tough and stay strong - you will get that plank series! you are determined:)

Dana, good hearing from you; glad you're enjoying the Feb rotation; I liked it, too. Do you love teh music in BodyMax2?! I do! Good luck with 40/20 - it's a killer but such a great workout. In case you forgot Cathe does throw in a few 1 minute rests:)

I best get -Take care!

Just a very quick check-in tonight before I hit the sack(I'll reply to all tomorrow).

Today was IMAX3. I don't know what was wrong with me today. My body was just plain tired. I finished the workout but not nearly at the intensity that I usually do. This is the third week in a row that I've had a very off workout day. Usually it's late in the week, but today is only Tues. I think my body is telling me I need a rest week. I haven't had one all year. I'm going to try to get some extra sleep(my sleep pattern has been off the past week) tonight. I'm also going to skip the 30 min of elliptical tomorrow to try to give my legs a bit of extra rest. Hoping that's enough to get me through the week. I was planning on doing this GS rotation for four weeks, but I think I may cut it short by one week and throw in a rest week instead.

What do your rest weeks look like? I haven't had one in so long that I'm not sure what to do...LOL!
