Push It

Hi all!

I did TBT upper body yesterday and am feeling the doms today. I really love that workout - especially the sequencing. It goes by fast and is fun! Today I'm going to do LIC. This will be my 3rd time attempting it so far and each time that combo #4 gets easier and easier. I'm tweaking week 2 of my LIS Nov rotation a little bit, but will leave week 3 and 4 alone.

No pushups yet this week .... stay tuned!

Sorry this is short, but I have company coming over for a playdate in little while. I'll check-in later!

KARA

Hi Kara,

TBT has plenty of pushups so I would say you have already done quite a few this week. :)

Last night became more of a rest day. I tried to do a premix of Butts and Guts but my heart simply wasn't into it. I did do the stretching with the ball. My lower back feels pretty good right now. Still a little bit of pain in the upper part but a definite improvement! I will try to do pushups again tonight. My goal is to get to 11 without stopping by Friday. I shuffled the STS legs workout to tonight was well. Ever since I did Turbo Barre my knees have been unhappy so I am going to get some braces tonight to see if those help. Bad back....bad knees...I think I am ready for the nursing home now!

Natty
I think you would love STS! I didn't really lift much weight before this program. Now I am kinda hooked on weight training. It's only negative is that it is so long that it usually my workout for the day. I try to not lift on back to back days (one lifting day then a day off) so it's hard to do some of my other favorite Cathe workouts that have weights in them. Some of them I miss alot like Low Impact Circuit.

BTW, I have the same feeling you have about HiiT with Afterburn, Athletic Training, and even Cardio Supersets. I know they are great workouts but I don't find them fun and even dread them. I have tried each one only once but threw them on my rotation to force myself to do them again. There are some workouts you just love from the get go (Body Max 2 and Drill Max), ones you will never like, and ones that you will learn to love. Hopefully, I will learn to love those three.

Heartymax
I was wrong...you are a week ahead on me in STS. I don't know what I was thinking! I do really like STS as well. The fact that there are soooo many ways to use it causes a ton of indecision in me regarding what to do after I finish this rotation. I am hesitant to start a full blown program with summer coming up. I know we will be hiking, biking, and camping soon and I don't want to start a lengthly rotation that I might not stick to. I think I am going to do a 6 week P90x rotation after STS just to see if I like the program. I borrowed it from a friend who is on a CrossFit kick right now. If her love for CrossFit ends, she might want her DVDs back! It's kinda of interesting though that even with her intense CrossFit workouts and Weight Watchers, she still cannot seem to loose weight. She has even switched to the Paleo Diet to see if that will help. I can't help but wonder if she did some Cathe workouts if they would be more effective than what she is doing now.

Kara
LIC does have some hard to learn choreography! There were parts of it where I was like "Huh?". There was a fair amount of reminding going on! I have read other peoply say that they had to do it like 5 times to get it down so don't feel frustrated!

Raciela
I think you said your marathon is coming up in two weeks. I forgot to wish you luck on it! You are going to have to let us know how you do on it.

Good afternoon everyone :)

Enjoyed a wonderful walk around the neighborhood. Went to the store and bought bubbles so me and Izabella could blow them at the park :). Ahhh I've missed the nice weather.

I got in some quick push-ups today before Muscle Max tonight (so a double whammy!). 20 (20 seconds rest), 10 (10 seconds rest), my last 5. Considering I have not done them in awhile, I think I did ok.

Stacie
You know what, you are not the only one that dreads AB, AT & CSS. I think everyone should express an honest opinion with workouts they like/dislike. I know we all love Cathe, but that does not mean we are going to be enamored with every w/o she puts out. I think more people on the forum should express if they disliked a w/o and why, without people judging or criticizing. As long as you do it in a classy manner, there is no reason not too. Constructive criticism is a good thing. I hate beets. I know it's good for me and I should eat them, but I won't. Just cuz' others love it, does not mean I should. You may never learn to "love" those w/o's, and that's ok too.
Heartymax
I keep calling you this, but what is your name? Your push-up counts are awesome!! Man, STS better go on sale this month! You guys are all killing me here!!!!
Kara
TBT UB has tons of push-ups!!! Killer ones too!! LIC is tricky, but you'll get it. It took me 4-5 tries (but I really suck at step) and I got it. Now I find it to be so much fun!! It's funny, Cathe's new step is easier for me than her old step!! Have fun with the play date :)
Susan
I am thinking I want to do a 4DS rotation in April. Did you see results with it? What kind?

Have a great day everyone :)

Natty,
Your day sounds lovely!!!! I was in the office all day missing an 80 degree Chicago day. My 4ds rotation was short just under 3 weeks. My arms got more defined to the point they are exactly where I want them to be. The benefits for me were more mental though: it was SO much fun. The only thing I dreaded was boot camp. That one is TOUGH, have you done it yet? I also rediscovered my love for Kickboxing, which is where I started with Cathe. If you do it, I recommend adding another lower body workout per week as I saw no change there. It is important to note that I am not dieting nor trying to lose weight. I just want to burn calories so I can indulge in my nightly ice cream addiction. :)

Good morning everyone :)

Yesterday was 4DS UB Bootcamp Circuit (60min). I'm not sure how many push-ups I did during that.......I know there was A TON!! The triceps push-ups off the step pretty much did me in. My UB is really screaming today. Good sign I pushed myself :D
Susan
Now I know why your arms got so defined!! 4DS is no joke! I loved bootcamp!! No dread factor for me, I really enjoyed it. I did not find it extremely difficult, enough to challenge me but not enough to have me gasping for air. I think having done CCC, Intensity and the Hiit's really conditioned my cardio endurance. Have you done Tabata? Talk about "puke in a bucket". I rarely w/o to the point of getting nauseous, I just don't like to push myself that hard, but holy man Tabata makes me sick (literally). I do Tom Holland's Supreme 90-Day Tabata Inferno every few weeks when I want a good butt whipping. It's supposed to be a "cheap" P90X, but I find it to be extremely effective & simple. I got my $20 worth that's for sure! I know what you mean about working out so you can eat ice cream/dessert. I love all kinds of food. My cousin always says I could go anywhere in the world to live and adjust well because I love worldly cuisine.

Have a wonderful day ladies:)

Good morning,

We are having another beautiful day today. Going to grill out for the first time this year (Italian sausage from a local Italian deli). I like to do yoga on my lunch hour, but instead, I am going to make potato salad. I just love potato salad but cannot stand anything not homemade. So excited (there I go again with the food. Seriously my whole life is consuming and burning off calories - my 2 obsessions)

This morning I did Imax2. I haven't done the workout since November, and I keep track of my heart rate after each interval and notate if I took any extra rest. I was so proud of myself- I added a riser to each side, so 2 risers instead of 1. I didn't take any extra breaks (the last time I took about 3 minutes broken up over the 10 intervals) and my heartrate peaked 1 point above last time. I feel VERY proud of myself. It must have been the recent CCC and Hiit combined with bootcamp in 4DS.

Natty - I am officially jealous. I was on cloud 9 with my Imax accomplishment, then I read your post about Bootcamp. Not that hard? Really? That is awesome though, I truly am envious. I have another Hiit coming up this weekend, and CCC the week after that. I am sure the more I push myself with those the better I will be with everything else. Seriously, I really admire your level of fitness!

Susan

Hi to all! I cleaned my house this morning. Mostly done, except for vacuuming, which I'll do later. I always like to do it on a Thursday, so I have my wknd free for stuff other than cleaning. :D It's been so gorgeous here as well. We're in 60's today and then next 2 days will be low 70's and on Sunday we will be in upper 70's. The fam and I went on a walk yesterday evening. So fun! And everyone slept great - gotta love the fresh air!

Susan/Natty --- I must profess my love for TBT upper body once again. And yes, you're both right, it does have a lot of pushups in it. I was still feeling it, even last night when I was trying to go to sleep. Can't wait to do it again! I was able to keep up with Cathe pretty good on the pushups, but I modified some on my knees or did less reps. Can't do it all the way through, like Cathe. I need to do a pushup count on my own sometime soon - I really want to get back to being able to do 25-30 in a row. Last time it was 18, so I'm getting there. :D

Natty --- Glad you got a walk in, too, and were able to enjoy the nice weather. I officially put my snow scraper in the trunk of my van, so it better not snow again! (I'm not so naive to put it in the garage .... I think if I did that I would just be asking for it to snow again). Hahaha!

Stacie --- I haven't done B&G in a while. That one sure is fun though, despite it's tough reputation.

Cheryl --- Great job on the pushups!

Heartymax --- I'm jealous of how you have STS and were able to do plyo legs. I love me a good plyo leg workout every once in a while. (someday ... someday, I'll get STS).

I have Turbo Barre on tap for today. Going to start that in a few minutes. This will be my first time doing it..... remains to be seen how I'll do! Ha! I did preview it a week or so ago and it looks doable, but definitely hard.

Take care everyone! -Kara-

Good morning! My training at work is finally over! It's great to be free from the conference room where I have been for over 8 hours each day this week! It was good stuff though and I am excited for the project that I will be working on.

Last night I did STS disk #26 - Plyo Legs. Good gracious was that tough! I thought about wimping out at 34 minutes but I took a small break and then finished it. The best way to describe that workout is CCC with weighted leg work instead of core work. I tried out my new knee brace and it worked great! My knee feels pretty good today and I even did a lot of the jumping moves just to see if the brace would make a difference. I would have gotten two of them but for some reason Walmart didn't have any and Target had only one. Grrr! Total body streching fixed up my back too. I feel like a new woman! I did pushups as well. 6-5-4-3-3. I am not sure I will make to my 11 count this week but I definitely keep trying!

Natty
I have done bootcamp as well and didn't think it was that bad. I didn't do the circuit version though. That sounds tough! 4DS is awesome though. It was one of those that I liked right away. I actually checked it out from the library first and then when I looked at buying it I nearly cried at the price! Luckily I was able to get it from eBay for less than half the price. So far, KPC is the only eBay purchase I have gotten that skips.

Thanks for the encouragement on being honest with my workout preferences! Everyone is different and we all like differents things.

Susan
Good job on completing Imax 2. That's a good one too! I haven't tried the cardio+weights workout on that disc yet. Have you?

Well, I better get back to work. Enjoy your workouts everyone and good luck on the pushups!

Susan
Imax2 on an 8inch step is a huge accomplishment! What are you sayin'???!!! Honestly though, I am the first one to admit when a workout does me in. Everyone has their strengths/weaknesses. I think the years of Jillian/Bob and now Cathe, has conditioned me well for cardio. If you look at Jillian and Bob, they both have a "bootcampy" feel to their workouts. Have you done Bob's Inside Out Series? Holy man, tough stuff!! I alternated between that torturous hell (sorry but it's not fun) and Jillian's stuff weekly before I found Cathe. You wanna see me cry like a little baby? Put on Turbo Barre. That's one workout that just renders me to my knee's. BTW, I am a huge fan of Hot Italian sausages on the grill! Last year we cooked those babies every week! Yummy BBQ!!!
Kara
Wow! If you can keep up with Cathe "pretty well" on the push-ups in TBT UB, then you are doing amazing! I wuss out on the ones where she extends her arm out and the ones where she crosses one foot over the other. Do you do the dive bomber modifications? Those are like Yoga Chaturanga's!! First time with TB? Oh man, I am grabbing my thighs in pain just thinking of it! Seriously, that workout is a forced to be reckoned with. Barre is not my strong suit. Good luck! Let me know how you like it!
Stacie
Plyo legs looks like something I would really love. CCC with weighted leg work??!!! Seriously? Does your knee brace work well? I might need to get one too. My knee's having been acting up again. You still did great on the push-ups though. I remember 4 months after I had Izabella, I was doing Jillian's 30-Day Shred and her level 1 had all these push-ups!!! I was like, no, please no. How am I gonna even do 1? So any amount off the toes, is an accomplishment in my eyes.

Have a good evening everyone :)

Good morning all! It is absolutely gorgeous here today. The weekend is supposed to be just as nice. Today is Friday AND a payday Friday...could the day get any better?

Last night was the Cardio Blast mix of Body Max 2. Tough but oh so much fun! There is something about that step workout. It's definitely one of her best ones. I really like how she starts all the impact moves with a low impact version first. So, if you don't want to do the high impact you have a different option from the get go. No pushups though. I was resting after I finished it before starting the pushups when my son woke up and literally said "No more Cathe. It's time for bed!" Sometimes I wonder who is really running the show in my household!

Natty
I really do think the brace is helping. Last night I walked up and down some steps just to make sure. It's stair climbing that usually clues me into the fact that my knee is not happy unless it is REALLY angry. I didn't realize my neighbor was outside while I as doing it. I got some strange looks for just randomly walking out and walking up and down the steps a couple of times but I had to make sure it really was helping!

You mentioned working out out after your daughter was born. I am still trying to loose some of the baby weight and my son is almost 7!!!! Getting closer every day though! That's great that you lost it right away. That's definitely the way to go.

Kara
Great job on the pushups! You are right about HeartyMax and Cheryl...their workouts and pushup counts are amazing! How did you like Turbo Barre last night?

Hi everyone,

I did pushups yesterday 22 10 10 10, with 30 second rests. They were on my toes and I am pretty sure I didn't cheat with wide pushups or by not going down far enough ;). But unfortunately down from my one set max of 28, oh well. I am thinking pushups will always be tough for me, some things I can do as effortlessly as Cathe (or close to it), but I don't think this is going to be one of them. I think these will always be tough for me for some reason. My chest is a weaker body part I guess. In 4DS I can use 25s for the flies like Cathe, but have to keep the 25s for the bench press where she uses 30s. I am going to keep at it though, and am going to try to do additional pushups (outside of workouts) 2-3 times per week. I do not think my initial goal of 100 consecutive pushups is a reasonable goal anymore...we'll see.

This morning was Muscle Endurance. This was the first time doing it. I have done segments of it from the Terminator DVD. I always do the viper, love that workout - a blend of Cardio&Weights, Imax2 and Muscle Endurance- mostly upper body. I usually do the Viper after a leg day, and skip the lower body segments. As for Muscle Endurance, I loved it, especially all of those leg presses, with SIX risers! Gonna feel it tomorrow. I also like the glute raises, I haven't seen that exercise before. Muscle Endurance had pushups - 4 singles, followed by 1 going halfway down, hold and come up slowly, repeated that set 3 times. Unfortunately I didn't make the last 5 reps on my toes, but in my defense it followed an extremely high rep count of chest flies. :)

Tomorrow is along workout: Hiit 30/30 followed by Natty's favorite Turbo Barre :D Turbo Barre is tough, but not too hard (not tough like Butts and Guts), but I find it a bit boring so there is a major dread factor. I previewed 30/30 as that is the last Hiit I have yet to do, and it looks fun. Ask me tomorrow if it is fun in reality. Ha Ha

Stacie
I have done Cardio and Weights many many times, on an 8 inch step. It is fun and the time just flies. I find it to be a bit easy, more intermediate/advanced which is probably why I like it so much. It's fun and easy to get through. I find the shoulder work to be tough, but my shoulders always are the hardest for me to work. Because it is only about an hour, includes step, weights and abs, the weight work is rather limited. I would sometimes add on additional weights at the end, or repeat some of the weight segments on the disc.

Enjoy the day!

Hi gang!

Today was CLX Burn It Intervals, CLX Ab Burner, CLX Push Phase #2, a 3 mile walk and push ups - 12, 30 second rest, 12, 30 second rest, 12, 30 second rest, 12, 30 second rest - holding the last push up of each round at the middle for a 5 second count.

I messed up yesterday with CLX thought it was an off day so I only did Weider X-Factor Workout #3 and Cathe's Yoga Relax and relax it was! I love this workout, I will definately try very hard to do this one 3x's a week.

Have a great day!
Cheryl

Susan -- Your pushups are amazing! Great job! I haven't done Cardio & Weights in a while. Might be because the last time I tried it my disc was skipping. Annoying. ;) That's probably one of my oldest Cathe DVDs and one I used a lot when I just had a small collection going. I agree w/ it being intermediate/advanced, but when you do the whole thing, including the weights, it feels like quite the accomplishment. The music is fun in that DVD, too.

I did the entire Turbo Barre DVD yesterday. I was really expecting to feel it today. To the point of not being able to walk, but it's not too bad. It is a tough workout though, that's for sure. I couldn't do all the reps Cathe did, especially when she kept doing multiple exercises on the same leg. Sometimes I had to put my leg down to give it a rest. The high rep 5-lb upper body exercises surprised me. I didn't expect them to be so tough. I had to stop early a few times on those, too. The hardest part of the entire w/o, initially, was getting used to working out in just my socks! No shoes! I was like, "Huh?" :p But about halfway through, I didn't even notice anymore. Overall, I do like the workout. It's not my "fave," but I had fun doing it and was really trying to keep up with Cathe and the crew. I'm sure next time will be even better.

Natty - Bomb divers? Are u kidding me? I've never attempted those in my life. Remember me saying before how my triceps are one of my weakest muscles? Yup. That's why I don't even try 'em! I do the modification and feel no shame in that! I have TBT upper body on the schedule for tomorrow - yay! I kept up with Cathe last time on the weight she used and the reps ... and the pushups I did every rep she did, but I modified maybe 1/3 of it on my knees. The extending the arm ones weren't too bad, but I agree with you, the ones where she crossed one leg over the other were difficult! (Cathe sure comes up with some inventive and tough pushup styles!)

Stacie - I agree with what you said a little while back about people feeling comfortable enough to express their likes and dislikes workout-wise. I totally agree. I think if it's done nicely and not in a put-down or attacking kind of way, then it's definitely something I'd like to see more of in the forums. The best kind of exercise for anyone is the one that they actually will do, not the one someone says you should do. I read a quote similar to that one time and it's so true.

I'm going to run at the gym tonight so I kept my LIS-CSS workout short today. Only did the first 31 minutes. I don't think I will ever be able to do all those mountain climbers! Ugh! :D:eek:

It will be in the low 70's today so my two little boys and I are going to walk to the school to pick up my 1st grader once school is done. Looking forward to it! Sun-sun-sun! Have a great wknd everyone! And Happy St. Patrick's Day, too!

Kara

Hi ladies :)

I have Izabella's b-day party tomorrow and spent the day just finishing up some last minute party supply shopping. Nothing fancy, just a jungle/zoo theme (she picked it) with some close family/friends.
Ok, so I was totally peer pressured into getting STS disc 26, Plyo Legs!!! I downloaded it today and will attempt it tonight . Damn all you "OMG, STS is SO awesome!" enablers.
Susan
Now you made ME jealous! Holy push-ups girl!!! That is fantastic!! I agree with you on the "I am thinking pushups will always be tough for me" thing. That's me too. Push-ups are not my strong suit, and I've said it before, I don't think getting to 100 will be realistic for me at this point in my life. Oh and what about you "Turbo Barre is not too hard", oh really?? Just confirms my point about strengths/weaknesses. Hiit 30/30 is friggin' hard!!! I laughed when Cathe said it was the "easiest" out of the 3. Nope, not for me. Pyramid seems to be easier and a lot of others feel the same way. Let me know how you like (hate) it .
Stacie
Ah man, Body Max 2. I'm dying to get that one! It looks like so much fun. Your son was so cute for coming out and saying that (well maybe not for you, but it sounded cute on this end). My daughter does that when I preview step while she is playing. She'll say "no mommy, you can't do your exercises now!!!!". BTW, I did not lose the baby weight right away like the celebrities do in like 1 month. 2 1/2 years to go back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I refused to diet and starve myself to get there. Instead I tortured myself with Bob & Jillian (before I found Cathe). Don't be so hard on yourself. You sound like you are in great shape :)
Kara
I'm glad you liked TB. Those 5 lbs are evil!! I can match Cathe rep for rep with those, but when she gets to triceps work, I get out my 3 lbs. I'm like you, wussy triceps. Have fun at the gym tonight. I used to go in my early 20's, but just never got "into" it. Maybe cuz' I felt inferior with all those hard core gym people. Maybe one day in the future I will try again. It's so nice to walk with the kids when it's nice out. Have a great day :)

Have a good evening ladies :)

Payday Friday wound up being a pretty bad day. There was a fight with my nephew because he got upset over a fairly innocent Facebook comment, the hockey game I wanted to go to for Cub Scout night sold out, the Check Engine light came on for the car, my son got a bad note from his teacher, and the Kumon director said he wasn't motivated enough so she was reducing his homework load. That last one might be a positive. It was taking a long time to do his homework. Not a good day!

Tonight (or this morning rather -- another negative about the day) was STS Disc #27. I also did pushup but came nowhere near my desired number. The counts were 5-6-5-4-4-5. I kept trying to get past 6 but my body said not tonight!!!

@Natty - Happy Bday to your little girl! I hope she has a great day! I am sure she will love the party.

Did you try out plyo legs? How did you like it? It was really funny that you called us enablers....lol.

@Susan - I am going to have try Cardio & Weights. It's hard to get any additional weight work in with STS. I will miss it though when it's over.

@Kara - Butts and Guts does have a bad rep. I have to agree with you that it is a lot of fun. I liked it from day 1. I was super lucky too because I came across this special package deal on Amazon.com which at the time was about $20 for the DVD, ankle weights, stretch bands, very light hand weights, and a stability ball! I was so excited!

@Cheryl - You are amazing! I can't believe you workout so much. How do you find the time? Some days I have to force myself to make the time...it doesn't always come easy to squeeze it in.

@Laura - Haven't heard from you in awhile...I hope your rash didn't come back and that you are doing ok!

Tomorrow is definitely going to be a Starbucks day. We are supposed to leave early to help my mom. I still have to pack, load the car, and check the oil (which hopefully is the reason why the Check Engine light came on). Plus, we are supposed to stop and get her a couple of things at Walgreens. I need an assistant! Maybe one that looks like Mario Lopez? ;)

Natty----I just go by heartymax so it's all good! Hope your family have a blast celebrating your daughter's birthday. The weather here is absolutely beautiful today so I hope you have some sunshine there too. So you purchased a Plyo Leg workout--giving in to the pressure I see. You won't regret that purchase. The Plyo leg workouts are awesome.

TRSTACIE----I hate those bummer days like you just had. We all experience them sometimes though. Just remember-----a good Cathe workout can kick out some stress. I think CCC is WAAAAYYY tougher than Plyo Legs. I can at least get through the Plyo workout. That CCC has so much dreadfactor for me until I don't even reach for it.

Susan---doing 100 push ups is not my goal either even though I am somewhat doing the 6 week hundred push up challenge. My goal is to be able to do 50.

I did my first initial push up test on March 1st and did 20 push ups. I decided to do another consecutive push up test today and did 30. I will continue with the challenge doing multiple sets next week. As I said, my goal is to be able to do 50 consecutive pushups so I will see how that goes. I also did 30 minutes on the elliptical and the stability ball abs from Pyramid Upper Body. I have two more weeks of STS and then I am off for spring break.

Happy Saturday!!!

Today was Hiit 30/30 and Turbo Barre. I haven't done Hiit Pyramid in quite a few weeks, but my initial assessment is 30/30 is the easist. I know there is quite a bit of debate about that. Maybe if I did pyramid again, I would think otherwise. It was a good way to warm up before TB, however I still did Cathe's TB warmup to make sure all the right muscles were ready to go. In the upperbody portion, my shoulders are what causes me issues with the 5 lb weights, versus the triceps like Natty.

Kara - I agree with you on TB, it is tough but not not my favorite.

Natty - TB is harder than I remember, I find it very difficult to mentally push through the discomfort with SO many reps. I do it, and my booty burns, but it's just not as physically hard as Butts and Guts. I do love that ab section in TB. I love where you plant one elbow and sit up reaching our other hand to the ceiling.

Stacie - I love Bodymax2 too! I think it might be my favorite step. I have actually never done the premixes. Sometimes I just do the step, sometimes step plus intervals, and sometimes I just do the upper body. This upper body would actually be a perfect addon to cardio and weights. (Natty - not to further pressure you, but the warmup plus the 3 combos is so much fun in Bodymax2, and pretty tough. The warmp up plus combos is just a bit over 30 minutes.

Heartymax - I may join you in the goal of 50. That seems more reasonable.

Natty - Happy Birthday to Izabella, I hope she has a fantastic day (and you too, it's always a big day for the mommy!!!) And congrats on plyo legs. Can't wait to hear your review. I loved that one.

Susan

Susan --- I'll never be able to do 100 pushups either. My goal is 30 consecutively, plus being able to do all 72 pushups (drop set style) that Cathe does in GS-CT. You're doing great! I agree with you about that "elbow plant" ab move from TB - love! (in a "I want this to be over fast, but I'm having fun" sort of way). :p BM2's arm segment is one of my faves, if only for the fact that it's short and gets the work done. I often tack it onto a cardio segment or do the double upper body premix. Something about arm work using the stability ball. I think that's part of the reason I also like TBT-Upper Body so much.

Stacie --- I agree about listening to your body. Everyone has those "off" days, even our beloved Cathe. And don't fret about your pushup counts either. You're doing great! That's awesome you got such a good deal on the B&G pack from amazon! I love that site! Hope all is well with your car. Unexpected car expenses are the worst. We've had our share of those. I hope, in your case, it was just a needed oil change. I don't need an assistant, like you joked, I just need a 10-day week. Then maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to get everything crossed off on my to-do list regularly! ;)

Natty --- I hope the party was a blast! Fun b-day theme, too! I'm sure she loved it! I swear, it really is the "little things" that get kids excited. I hope you had a nice time surrounded by family & friends as well. What's the deal with STS plyo legs? I'm so out of the loop with STS. I get the general gist of it, but didn't/haven't really paid too much attention b/c it came out when I was either pregnant with one of my kids or shortly thereafter. I, too, am interested to hear your review. As if I need another leg DVD .... ha! PS - like Susan said, I'm another one who likes BM2. If you like step, and I know you do!, you'll really enjoy it. Just sayin'. Not insinuating anything ... no, no, no. ;)

Yesterday was such a nice day I decided to run outside instead of heading into the gym. It was a perfect evening for a run - still on the warm side, but a nice wind to keep me cool. I wasn't sure how far I would get as this was my first time running outside since last August, but I must have ate my wheaties, because when it was all said and done I had ran 4.85 miles. :D:D:D I was pretty surprised about that. I went slow of course, nothing crazy, although I am a slow runner anyway. I'm just pleased as a pickle I ran that far. Hopefully after a few more longish runs like that I will be ready for my 1st 10K in mid-May.

Today it was TBT-Upper again. I think those long lever ball exchanges are getting easier as I've done the DVD more than once now. I can keep my legs straight for most of the reps, but then at the end I have to modify with bent legs. I wasn't feeling it with the pushups though (similar to what you experienced, Stacie) so I did a lot of them on my knees. I blame it on my long run .... Haha! I still need to find the time to do some consecutive pushups. Just haven't been able to figure out how to fit it into my rotation when the DVD I do for the day usually tires me out enough already. Maybe tomorrow or Monday. We'll see. Have a nice Sunday, everyone!

Good morning ladies :)

Party went well, nice and smooth. Thankfully, everyone left by 5:30pm (Italian's like to "stick around" sometimes). I can only handle so many people at my house at one time. I felt bloated from pizza, KFC, cake and ice cream, and so I got in a quick workout of 4DS Low Intensity Step+15min Step Moves. I was so tired and found it hard to concentrate.

Plyo Legs is awesome!! I'm not sure what weight I should have used, so I had 20 lbs dumbell's in each hand (the highest I have). I dropped down near the end, as my legs were just wobbling. The plyo was so much fun! I love the slow and controlled way of doing it. It's not hard as hiit, which was ok and I got to enjoy it more. I was able to keep up with Cathe til' the end and I'm happy about that. 2 days later and my butt is still in so much pain

Your run sounds SO nice. It makes me want to join you (or try to). Every time I see runners, I get a little envious. Just to be outside, so free, without a care in the world. It looks very liberating. STS is very enticing for me. I am a big fan of weight training and to participate in a program like that would be a dream. I might purchase STS Total Body though soon, as there is a rotation I am DYING to try: http://cathe.com/forum/f100/dec-10-rotation-279800/. Hope you had a nice weekend :).

I laughed at the Mario Lopez thing! Well actually I was like "heck ya! He is one hot tamale!". I am so sorry to hear about your bad day. When it rains, it pours. I am dreading all those school letters, as I'm not sure how I would react. I read somewhere that boys and girls learn differently, and boys have a higher chance of difficulty/problems in school. Not because they are less smarter than girls, but because the curriculum is just not suited for them in general. There is somewhere in Canada (I think) that has clued into this and the curriculum is different for boys/girls. The result? The boys are having a far easier time improving their grades, staying motivated and upping overall percentages. ADD (which seems to be a problem) is virtually non-existent. Interesting hun? Hope you have a better week.

Glad you like 30/30. It's supposed to be the easiest, but for some reason I don't find it to be. Maybe cuz' you don't get any 1min rests. You seem to love B&G's. I am scared of it, really that's why I am not getting it.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone!

Have a great day!

I did 20 pushups in a row last night. :D I decided to just do it and see how much I could accomplish. Pretty proud of myself!

Sorry this is short, but I'm going to try to fit in TBT-Lower Body before church. Good luck to me! Take care everyone!
