Susan --- I'll never be able to do 100 pushups either. My goal is 30 consecutively, plus being able to do all 72 pushups (drop set style) that Cathe does in GS-CT. You're doing great! I agree with you about that "elbow plant" ab move from TB - love! (in a "I want this to be over fast, but I'm having fun" sort of way).
BM2's arm segment is one of my faves, if only for the fact that it's short and gets the work done. I often tack it onto a cardio segment or do the double upper body premix. Something about arm work using the stability ball. I think that's part of the reason I also like TBT-Upper Body so much.
Stacie --- I agree about listening to your body. Everyone has those "off" days, even our beloved Cathe. And don't fret about your pushup counts either. You're doing great! That's awesome you got such a good deal on the B&G pack from amazon! I love that site! Hope all is well with your car. Unexpected car expenses are the worst. We've had our share of those. I hope, in your case, it was just a needed oil change. I don't need an assistant, like you joked, I just need a 10-day week. Then maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to get everything crossed off on my to-do list regularly!
Natty --- I hope the party was a blast! Fun b-day theme, too! I'm sure she loved it! I swear, it really is the "little things" that get kids excited. I hope you had a nice time surrounded by family & friends as well. What's the deal with STS plyo legs? I'm so out of the loop with STS. I get the general gist of it, but didn't/haven't really paid too much attention b/c it came out when I was either pregnant with one of my kids or shortly thereafter. I, too, am interested to hear your review. As if I need another leg DVD .... ha! PS - like Susan said, I'm another one who likes BM2. If you like step, and I know you do!, you'll really enjoy it. Just sayin'. Not insinuating anything ... no, no, no.
Yesterday was such a nice day I decided to run outside instead of heading into the gym. It was a perfect evening for a run - still on the warm side, but a nice wind to keep me cool. I wasn't sure how far I would get as this was my first time running outside since last August, but I must have ate my wheaties, because when it was all said and done I had ran 4.85 miles.
I was pretty surprised about that. I went slow of course, nothing crazy, although I am a slow runner anyway. I'm just pleased as a pickle I ran that far. Hopefully after a few more longish runs like that I will be ready for my 1st 10K in mid-May.
Today it was TBT-Upper again. I think those long lever ball exchanges are getting easier as I've done the DVD more than once now. I can keep my legs straight for most of the reps, but then at the end I have to modify with bent legs. I wasn't feeling it with the pushups though (similar to what you experienced, Stacie) so I did a lot of them on my knees. I blame it on my long run .... Haha! I still need to find the time to do some consecutive pushups. Just haven't been able to figure out how to fit it into my rotation when the DVD I do for the day usually tires me out enough already. Maybe tomorrow or Monday. We'll see. Have a nice Sunday, everyone!
