Purpose of STS

workoutaholic

Cathlete
Hi Cathe, or anyone who would like to answer. I am currently doing STS (on week 3) and just wanted to make sure I understand the system. The overall purpose of following the program as it's laid out is to be 5% stronger by the end, correct?

If I've got that right, and say my main goal is to build muscle (and let's assume I'm not concerned with endurance or strength, although I know they're all tied together somewhat), is it better to just do Meso 2 over and over? I know it takes a lot of work to build muscle, and especially for most women. So would I more likely build more muscle by using Meso 2 or Meso 2-like workouts over several months, rather than alternating between endurance-hypertrophy-strength?

I am going to do the program as it's laid out, and I'm loving it. Just a little confused, thanks,

I am definitely no expert. I am just speaking from my experience. I did the 6 month rotation and did not skip or deviate in any way. Prior to doing sts I only did workouts like meso 2. For years this is how I worked out. I saw alot of gains in the beginning but once my body knew this is what was going to happen, even though I would change my routine, I really could not gain strength anymore. I am a pusher so I don't think it wasn't that I was not pushing myself, I just think that your body adjusts esp. as women and just does not gain strength that easily. At least this is my experience. I know that by the end of sts I had gained. I gained endurance for the pushups too. For me I don't think that I would have had the same gains without doing the program the way it is written. As for why it works so well, I do not know but would also like the answer!

So sorry for no help what so ever!:D
