Pull overs - not feeling it

Cathe,
I'm having trouble with the pull overs in your workouts. It seems that no matter how much I do them I just don't feel it. If I try to go to a heavier weight, my arms get tired long before my back even notices anything is going on. Could you please give me some form pointers, maybe I'm not doing them right. Also, whats the best alternative exercise to pull overs.
Thanks
Crystal:)

Hi Crystal - I am also interested in a response on this. I don't feel it in my back and would like some form pointers in case I am doing it incorrectly.

Not Cathe (obviously) but pullovers do work multiple muscle groups. They work the arms esp the triceps along with the chest, shoulders and back. I have to really concentrate esp on the upward motion to initiate the move from the lats. This seems to help. Also as you do these more your upper body strength will increase and tire less and you'll be able to use a heavier wt safely that you can feel in your lats. I think just continue to be consistent with doing them and you'll slowly see improvement.

HTH till Cathe can respond!!

My back is stronger than my triceps, so I tend to "feel" pullovers in my tri's more so than in my back when I use a heavier weight.

I thought it was just me! I feel it in my triceps and the stretch in the abs, but I don't feel it where she is focusing it on...the back. I still do them hoping that I'm working the muscle anyway. But every time (in Back, Shoulders and Biceps) she says something like "feel it kicking in"? I just don't feel it...lol.

Oh I'm so glad I'm not alone here! Same thing with me.

This even applies to me with biceps. I always feel bicep work more in my rear delts than in my actual biceps - regardless of the weight I'm using. Even with concentration curls - those I feel more in my back!

I've wondered if my form is the issue. But I've studied and worked really hard to make sure that it's correct.
I'm just beginning to think that it's completely dependent on each body. I don't know...
