PS Legs vs. CTX Leaner Legs or MIS Leg section

Hello all you educated Cathe-ites!

I have just purchased the entire CTX series and I'm very excited about it! I also own MIS, Power Hour, and Body Max for strength and many other cardio Cathes. I was able to trade for PS BBA and then had a chance to buy a used copy of PS CST. My question is: do I really need PS Legs? I mean, I know we all *want" everything of Cathe's, but.....

A little about me: my legs are not my problem (I'm a classic "apple"). My goal is to work them enough to keep them sleek and toned but not bulky. Since starting serious Cathe weight training with the above videos, I have seen some nice development of my quads and hams. Also, I am 42 and am starting to experience twingy knees. While I know strengthening the quads will help my knees, I can't lunge too often or too deep.

My question (finally!): can Leaner Legs sub for PS Legs in a PS rotation, especially since I'm looking for Lean rather than Strong legs? I looked at the descriptions of the videos on Video Fitness and they look so similar to me. Is it a matter of speed (strength slower than endurance) or what?

I'd would love to hear any and all opinions, your experiences, and advice!

TIA,

Elisa

Hi Elisa-

In my opinion, you could certainly do Leaner Legs instead of buying PS LLA. LL is a little faster, however since you said you are not looking to add bulk it would work perfectly for you. I would add some leg floor work to the end of LL as it rounds out the standing leg workout nicely. If you have a short segment from another tape to tack on or Firm Lower Body Sculpting would do too.

Just my thoughts... good luck,
Nancy

I too ordered PS BBA and CST without getting SL&A. Then I got a DVD player so I ordered the PS DVD. After doing the PS series for 8 weeks, I was able to up my weight work with LL and MIS. Did I need PS SL&A? Maybe not - LL is harder to do and I do have The Firm's Standing Legs. Am I glad I got it? Yes! I like the music, the sequencing of exercises, and the floor work. But I am a pear and need all the lower body help I can get! Just another opinion. Have fun!

I would get PS legs and simply use lighter weights. You can rotate LL, PS Legs, & Standing legs all with light weights. You can also make up your own routine with suggestions from magazines like Fitness and Shape.
