Proof that "what comes around goes around"

A few years back, I was taking my dog for an early morning walk and found a cell phone in the road. There was still power left in the battery, so I took it home and searched through the internal contacts list until I found one that said "Mom". Later that day, I called the number and talked to "Mom" to let her know I found the phone. My husband kind of was like, "what are you bothering to do that for?" And I said that it was just the cool thing to do. The lady eventually told her son and he came to pick it up a week or two later, and was very grateful that I had taken the time to get it back to him.

Yesterday when DD, DH and I went for our bike ride, I had my cell phone in my daughter's bike trailer (in case of an emergency - like a broken bike chain...). The phone must have fallen out when I hit a bump on the road, because a few hours after we got home I got a call from someone who had found it. A young girl from down the street brought it right over. It looked as if it may had been run-over because the face plate was destroyed, but it still works! I hadn't even realized that I lost it, but I was very happy that someone did for me what I had done for someone else!

That whole "Golden Rule" thing really is an excellent motto for life!

RE: Proof that

Donna, I am a HUGE believer in karma. I really think what you put out in the world is what you get back.

Glad you got your phone back, though! What a pain it would be to have to cancel service, etc., etc...

Cheers,
Marie

RE: Proof that

My cell phone fell on the ground at a town fair a couple of years ago...a woman picked it up and called the # that said "home" and I had it back the same day. I would return it also if I found one. It's only right.

Wendy - I'm getting so excited for you! Only 31 days!!! I sure hope you don't go late.

RE: Proof that

I'm a believer also. We just had something odd happen. DH took our Tahoe in to be cleaned and washed on Sat. On Sunday, we loaded up the Vizsla for a long walk. When he looked in the back seat, he found an atm card. We called the car wash company and they do not have an employee by that name. So I'm trying to figure out how in the heck it got into our back seat? We called the bank and are waiting to hear back from them. I'd like whoever owns it to know where it ended up.

I'm another firm believer in karma.

Colleen...I am really curious how that card ended up there too!

RE: Proof that

Colleen,

That's weird. It sounds like someone used your car for joyriding on Saturday night.

RE: Proof that

I hate to assume the worst, but the only thing I can think of is that it fell out of one of the car workers' pockets into our vehicle. DH waited for the vehicle and then drove it home that night. But if there isn't an employee by that name, how did that particular person end up with the card?? That is where my mind starts thinking of some not so good situations :( It could have even possibly been stolen from another vehicle getting washed or something. That's a bit troubling!

Donna...it is so great to know there are good people like you around and it does pay off...:)...I am a true believer in the Golden Rule...:)...Carole

RE: Proof that

I believe in karma, too. What you put out your get back times 3.

Being so, I can't wait until the woman I work with gets a taste of her own! I'm just finding out that she's stabbed me in the back so many times, I should've been dead by now! I certainly hope she gets back what she's put out! Let's see how she likes it!

I'd like to know how it got there in the first place. Hmmmm. If the guy doesn't work at the car wash, then when was this total stranger in your car to leave his ATM card? Or, did someone at the car wash steal the card, then throw it in your Tahoe?

RE: Proof that

Yes. I also believe in karma. If you give good things to the world the world will give good things to you. If you do bad things well be prepared... But you're good Donna so that's why you got your cell phone back :)

RE: Proof that

My brotber's wife is the nastiest, most selfish woman on the face on the earth. I'm pretty much banking on Karma to come back and bite her in the ass!!! Any ideas on how long that'll take?!?}(

I truly believe you get back what you give, and try to live my life by that Golden Rule!
