PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: OCTOBER

Morning all. Hubby is back but he's at work today {one of his normal work days, we like Sun & Mon off}. His nice boss called last night to tell us the 'higher ups' want him to go back next week. :( I'm cleaning house today, or I will be as soon as I start, I can only procrastinate for so long. But the temps have warmed up its almost 70 outside. My parents gave me a Netflix movie to watch called Miracle Dogs, it was cute but more for children, there was a shot of Rue MaClanahan crocheting, which I found interesting.

Andrea, hope you feel better soon. take care of yourself!

Wow. My headache became IN-TENSE in the middle of the night. I had taken some Aleve earlier, hoping it would help, it didn't. Took some ibuprofen PM before bed, hoping I could sleep. I guess I fell asleep but woke up about 1 am due to loud thunder and OH MY HEAD! I have never had a headache like this. It seriously felt like my brain was three sizes too big for my skull. I broke down and took a migraine med, and was able to get back to sleep. Only had a slight headache when I woke up but it got worse after I got up, so I took another one and took a warm shower, now I'm having coffee and hanging in there. My throat isn't as sore, but my neck feels swollen. If not better by Monday I guess I'll have to go to the doctor. :( A woman I work with has a daughter who has Mono...hope it's not that!

Good morning everyone...

Andrea, how is your headache this morning? My football team was giving me a headache last night, scored 52 points and they still almost lost!

Peng, hoping your procrastination didnt turn into a night event last night!

I went to a get together last night and ate more than I had planned, but didnt eat as much as I could have. Time to get back on track today.

I'm going to see how much of Gym Style Legs I can get thru today, because of my knee issues I want to start slow but still want to push myself, hoping to find that zone! Tomorrow is a planned rest day in case I cant walk!

I'm done with GS Legs! :) I skipped a few exercises that I know would bother my knees (front lunges and band leg presses) but did the rest, had to take pauses, maybe skip a few reps/modify but I made it thru. My legs definitely feel worked but my knees dont hurt. We'll see how I'm feeling tomorrow!

good job on the gs legs! i'm feeling better, still not workout-ready but i have put my new fave LIC on the calendar for tomorrow.

My Cats are ranked #3 & #4 depending on which poll you look at! :) makes me feel better :)

Hubby is out job hunting today and running the new-to-us car through inspection so he can get tags in our name. We also have to take sweet puppy to the vet today, she’s got a place on her neck that has lost fur and a bunch of bites on her legs and ‘puppy pits’. This is usually the day we try to have some fun, but it doesn’t sound like much fun.

This is the second time he’s tried to run the car though inspection and it runs fine there and back but {and when he drives it around toen}, but while he’s in line at the station the car is sputtering and smoking. He’s an aircraft mechanic with a background in car mechanics and he can’t understand what’s wrong. I get to catch up on my Bible study for Wed/Thurs and brush April so she looks nice for the vet.

Andrea, glad you feel better after your bad night

Stacy, good job on GS Legs. I don't have that one but have tried it on a temp trade with another exerciser.

hi...actually i felt worse again today after a horrible night, went to the doc. have an effusion in my ear canal, they gave me nasonex for sinus inflammation and some phenergan to help me sleep and to make the headaches go away...so no workout again :-( hope for a better report tomorrow...

I'm down 2.4 lbs for the week :)

No workout today, was a planned rest day as I knew I would be working 12+ hrs. and I wanted a rest day after GS Legs. My calves are pretty sore today!

Dinner was salmon and broccoli.

Hope everyone's getting back on track and feeling better.

Time to kick back and relax...

Hubby's car passed on the third try, after he came home this afternoon we took April to the off-leash park, this is the first time we've been back to this park since she injured her ACL almost 2 years ago. She was thrilled. After we got back I smashed my wedding ring agaist the edge of our bedroom doorway, bent one of the tines and lost an emerald {my band is special made for me with a row of emeralds in white gold}. It took poor Hubby an hour to find the stone, then we rushed out to a mall across town that has a fix-while-you-wait shop. I thought the ring was broken and we'd have to get it re-set, which of course we can't afford right now, but it was fixed free of charge! Remind me to send business their way! So another crisis ju jour!

Stacy, great job on the weightloss!

Andrea, I hope your meds work and you feel better tomorrow after a restful night.

Morning guys! Its Tuesday so I'm doing laundry, finishing up my lesson for Bible study, cleaning the bathroom and hope to get in Cathe's Pyramid LB plus some cardio, as well as knitting. There's a new Knit Night tonight across town in a Newk's cafe this evening which I hope to attend.

Morning girls!
I feel much better today. Getting ready to take the doggies for a walk and will do a workout later today, not sure what yet. May just make this a Firm week so I don't push myself too hard but at least get some work in.

Stacy, I have to share this with you, it's a video from the K-State Mask in preparation for our meeting with West Virginia on Saturday...The K-State Mask: West Virginia Pregame Inspiration - YouTube

It amused me this morning! WTG on the weight loss, you inspired me to start using myfitnesspal again to track my intake...which has been horrid the past few weeks. Being sick really made me want to eat better.

Peng, glad your ring is OK and for free! What a relief. I know April had a good time yesterday too huh? Hope you get to go to the new knit night. I'm working on my quilt and have a decent amount of pinwheels made, will post a pic up here sometime.

I did Cathe's Pyramid LB 'down' premix plus Firm Weighted Glove workout, which each time I do I complain that I wish they had made it longer, lol. Almost though with the laundry, need to go over lesson to see if I missed a question.

I decided to make lasagna tonight so I have a lot of peppers and onions to chop. Every few weeks I buy a few of each color red, green, and yellow sweet peppers, cube, then freeze them so I'm not chopping all the time. This is especially good for onions this time of year because they are extra pungent so you aren't crying each time you cook. I used to wear contacts so onion never bothered me but after my cateract surgery I just wear glasses and I see what all the crying about onions is about!

Andrea, I'd like to see pictures when you get a chance!

Andrea, glad you are feeling better, thanks for the link, I'll have to check it out! I finally said "enough is enough" and I really want to work hard to lose some weight. It's good old fashioned healthy eating, portion control and for me cutting back on the starchy carbs. I know it the past that I wont say no to anything forever, but will plan around those times and compensate in other places.

Peng, I'm also glad you got your ring fixed. My hubby lost his wedding ring and we never found it, it was engraved too, very sad. I bought him a new one, but it's not the same :(

I walked 3 miles on the treadmill as my legs and calves were still a bit sore, and then abs. I was afraid my calves would cramp up if I tried anything with more impact. After that I racked leaves for 2 hours.

I just made some home made roasted tomato soup. It's a new recipe for me, so I'll be tweaking it a bit as it simmers. We're having that tonight with grilled cheese sandwiches. I havent had grilled cheese for years. It's not really a diet food but I've counted out my cals today and I'm a bit under my daily goal, so I'm good with that.

Tomorrow is GS Chest and Tri's. So far I'm liking my 5 day a week workout schedule especially seeing progress on the scale. I waste too much time pondering workout rotations when the result really come from what I put or dont put in my mouth!

well my dog walk was short, just 1.5 miles, as I was feeling a little woozy. took a nap around lunch time and woke up feeling pretty good, so decided to attempt a workout, Firm Total Body Toner. Got through about 25 minutes of it and felt light headed but also like i had hit all the major body parts so I did the stretch and called it a day. So true Stacy about what we put into our mouths! I'm tracking my calories today and have about 650 left for dinner, going to make spaghetti and meatballs (95% lean sirloin) and i'm also going to make a big salad. I'll keep my pasta portions "Andrea-sized"...hubby and i call them that because my portion sizes compared to his need to be kept in proportion with our actual body sizes, i don't need to eat as much as a very tall man!

Stacy if you get a chance to watch it, it's for laughs, does poke a bit (ok a lot) of fun at some hillbilly stereotypes...but like we know we are so sophisticated here in Kansas! It was filmed in ks for pete's sake. We like the Mountaineers and are really excited to have them in the Big 12. i just love the passion of the "mask", he does these videos for every game.

Geez....talk about temptation v self control....my sweet neighbor just brought over homemade pumpkin cookies with cream cheese icing!

so did you have any cookies yet? :p My favorite part of the vid is when he does his little dance after making kissy faces at the cute girl, cracks me up. but i also got a chuckle at the preggo girl myself!

I'm a tiny bit sore today! think I'll do some Firm cardio today along with the standard dog walk.

B--yogurt with raspberries
S--almonds
L--tuna with small amount low fat mayo, carrots and celery

D--hubby made homemade meat sauce for spaghetti. I'm not a big pasta lover anyway, so I'll be having an "Andrea" sized portion ;) He's also making garlic bread which I dont like, so again easy to skip. However, he went and got mini caramel dolce cheesecakes at the store! He normally doesnt do things like that but we're having company for dinner. THAT one will be hard to resist.

And, no cookies today :) We're planning on pawning them off on our company ;)

Workout today was GS Chest/Tri's. For some reason it felt harder this week than last week!

Ok, off to tidy up the house a bit....

crap I'm sore! like i can barely move sore...after 20 minutes of Allie? that's just nuts.

3 mile dog walk, then attempted Firm Express but once again got lightheaded and was tripping over my Transfirmer, so i shut it down and took a couple of Aleve. then got my haircut and then went to the oral surgeon for the final part of my dental implant...so now the numbness is wearing off and my face is going to be sore like the rest of me! aaauuuuuuugh.....

those mini cheesecakes sound like something i need :)
