PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: MARCH

Did you pick your brackets?? I'm always totally wrong b/c I always pick my team to win it all, lol.

Playing around with workout plans, no particular order, but goal is 5 days a week.

--Upper body split (ch/sh/tri) + abs
--Cardio + abs
--Leg/Cardio or Plyo legs (knees hurt with straight heavy leg work)
--Cardio + abs
--Circuit/Metabolic, such as Supercuts, Athletic Training, Low Impact Circuit etc

Repeat the following week, but do the other part of the upper body split, ie. back/biceps.

My lower body and general fat content needs alot more work than my upper body, but doing strictly circuits I tend to lose strength in my upper body, so will try this out for a few weeks.

My Final 4 is L'ville, Ohio St, Kansas and Miami. Good thing I dont bet money on this stuff!
 
Well no workout tonight. Hubby invited his bro over to watch some 3 hr music documentary and the tv is in the basement which is in my workout area! I doubt I'll be up for working out at 10pm which is about the time he'll be leaving! Oh well.
 
If I can get my butt out of bed earlier enough tomorrow morning, I'll goto Plan B, which is bi's, tri's and abs that I was supposed to do tonight, followed by the 30 min floor/step premix from XTrain HiiT.

My hubby picked his brackets too. We're having our own contest, it's 1 point for each correct pick for Round 1, 2 points for Round 2, etc. Not sure what the winner gets yet! His Final Four stinks worse than mine, in my opinion. He went with L'ville, Ohio St, Indiana, and Michigan. I'm going to have to start thinking about what I want for my victory ;)
 
Despite my good intentions to workout this morning I only accomplished half of the plan b/c I got paged by work for something that wasnt emergent, so by the time I dealt with that, the bi's, tri's and abs part of my workout had dragged out to 50 minutes. Now I dont have time for the 30 min cardio b/c I'll be late for actually going into work!!!! UGH!!

I'd be in SO much better shape if I didnt have a job!! (I know, I should consider myself lucky in today's economy to be working but maybe I should go part-time or something!)
 
i need to get lottery tickets! off work today, going to get in a quick cold dog walk before snow starts, then do a sculpting workout, I'm thinking Firm Total Body Toner. then its basketball all day!

tbt done, two mile dog walk done, shower, shopping, and sitting on my a$$ watching bball for the rest of the day!
 
i'm 12-4 but had okie State in final four so that was dumb! also had unlv winning one more game. exited for the games today, lots more teams i care about!

rest day either today or tomorrow, i think if i don't rest today it's some kind of cardio. I'll keep you posted.

i think i'm going to clean some today, i have a room with a bunch of empty boxes and brown paper bags that needs some attention! i saw a brown spider in there the other day...it told me "hey thanks for letting all this crap pile up!" time to move the boxes! :p

ha ha never got around to that, the disappointment ruined my day! oh well maybe tomorrow i'm sure the spiders will appreciate it ;-)

bummer now i have to watch ku tonight, i'm sure they will win. off to go check in on osu!
 
Today I will conquer the "Supercuts Extreme + Core" Premix. I mostly likely be pausing this a few times to administer CPR to myself, but after the 70 minutes, I will be done with my workout for the day and another day closer to leaving Flabsville!

well I got 24 picks correct so I feel pretty smug! LOL

Needing to get in a dog walk before Winter Storm Virgil or whatever arrives later today, need to run to Costco and pick up some more Atulfo Mangos (addicted!) and strawberries, and work out, going to to Aerobic Body Shaping (I think that's what it's called)...funny I'm seriously liking these Firm workouts, I am able to focus on my form a little bit more and they actually do a better job with compound weight movements (something I've never been a fan of Cathe for- her compound weight moves don't seem to do it for me). I really feel my core being challenged with the stability work involved.

Poor Pinto, I can't remember if I mentioned that we have come to the conclusion that she is in a lot of pain with hip dysplasia. Explains her strange behavior the past few months, with her trembling if I pet her in the wrong place (her hip area) and her not coming when we call her, etc. We thought she was traumatized from her vet visit for vomiting (diagnosed her with an ulcer) but I think maybe they did something to aggravate her hip pain while holding her for x rays or her abdominal ultrasound, ever since then she's acted very anxious, afraid, aggressive, generally crazy. Well I started her on doggie aspirin last night and glucosamine/condroitin this morning. Apparently steady walks help get circulation to the joint so that's good. Keeping fingers crossed, I made the mistake of touching her hip this morning to see if the aspirin had kicked in yet...nope.

She had a broken back leg at 7 weeks of age and then a damaged growth plate on her front leg which required surgery at just under a year old; both of these things "helped" her develop hip dyplasia, plus she's a yellow lab so she was pretty much doomed. Still makes me very sad, she's just four! She hasn't developed a limp at all but is definitely creaky when she gets up and whines all the time, like she's doing right now. Poor buddy.

Your poor doggie :( Does the vet think the aspirin is okay for her ulcer?? One of our two dogs has always been the unhealthy one ever since we got them at age 4 months, but he's always been a trooper. You look at the other one the wrong way and he looks pathetic and whimpers, big momma's boy baby!!

I did Supercuts Extreme but ended up not doing the Core workout b/c the premix included the last section of Supercuts which is 8 rounds of 5 full sits up/5 pushups. I didnt feel the need to then do Core after that. My legs are going to be sore tomorrow. Good workout. Do you have Supercuts?? I'm pretty sure Peng does, right??

Off to run errands! We're expecting snow tomorrow too. While I hate summer hot weather, it'd be nice to have a sunny day and maybe hit 50 degrees! It's 24 degrees now, welcome to "Spring"!
