Hi NY25!
I've been really working out hard with Cathe, drinking a lot more water and cutting back on unhealthy carbs like the "white foods". I could never cut all carbs out completely, but I've noticed being much more careful about eating them has made a difference- FINALLY!! Munching out on a lot more veggies (instead of reaching for my favorite Salt & Vinegar chips.... drool). More salads with healthy fats in moderation.
As far as the workouts, I'm doing B&G 2-3 times per week maybe the L&G in place of a B&G day- I'm officially addicted to B&G!, Upper body Pyramid twice per week (that also somehow seems to be waking those stubborn abs ), various Cathe step workouts. I'll add in other workouts as well.
For my 40 -something body it seems that focusing more on strength training has been more effective than hour after hour of cardio. The cardio intensive workouts seemed to work fine in my 20's and 30's but now in my 40's my body has different demands. It's taken a several months to figure out what works for my body and what it "wants" to do.
Finally, listening to my body. Taking one active recovery day and try to take one full day off. Also, almost nightly bath soaks with healing salts and gentle stretching. I'm very happy to have finally figured out what works. The arthritis in my right hip sometimes gets in the way, so I'll listen and try to work around it.
Happy Friday!
Pam
