Wooohoooo!! Today as I was changing my clothes I caught a glimpse of something I haven't seen in many a year. My ABS!!!!! There they were smiling back at me, asking for another core workout so they can shine in all their glory!!!! I screamed so loud that my husband rushed upstairs to ask what was wrong. LOOK!!! They're back!!!!! Oh happy, happy day!!!:D

woooooooooohooooooooooooooo!!!! gonna keep doin' what I'm doin' and a whole bunch more!

What are you doin'? I haven't seen my abs in some time! (actually I think they migrated to my a**). I'm working on it, but I'd love to know what worked for you. sigh

Hi NY25!

I've been really working out hard with Cathe, drinking a lot more water and cutting back on unhealthy carbs like the "white foods". I could never cut all carbs out completely, but I've noticed being much more careful about eating them has made a difference- FINALLY!! Munching out on a lot more veggies (instead of reaching for my favorite Salt & Vinegar chips.... drool). More salads with healthy fats in moderation.

As far as the workouts, I'm doing B&G 2-3 times per week maybe the L&G in place of a B&G day- I'm officially addicted to B&G!, Upper body Pyramid twice per week (that also somehow seems to be waking those stubborn abs ), various Cathe step workouts. I'll add in other workouts as well.

For my 40 -something body it seems that focusing more on strength training has been more effective than hour after hour of cardio. The cardio intensive workouts seemed to work fine in my 20's and 30's but now in my 40's my body has different demands. It's taken a several months to figure out what works for my body and what it "wants" to do.

Finally, listening to my body. Taking one active recovery day and try to take one full day off. Also, almost nightly bath soaks with healing salts and gentle stretching. I'm very happy to have finally figured out what works. The arthritis in my right hip sometimes gets in the way, so I'll listen and try to work around it.

Happy Friday!
Pam

Cool! I too am 40-something. I just started week 3 of the STS/Shock Cardio rotation, so I'm hoping it works. I'm trying to not take days off, either. Adding in at least light cardio or something. My last "off" day I did the Weights and Plates workout from Ab Circuits. So, here crossed fingers to success!

Please keep me posted on your rotation! I'm soo excited for you. It's pretty expensive set but I'm sure it's worth it. I'd love to hear your successes!! It's soo incredible how our bodies change in our 40's isn't it?? I used to be able to do two hours of cardio and eat like 1000 cals a day back in my 20's to try and look like "those girls" in the magazines. I can't believe I complained about my body back when I was a size 2 or 4!! What was I thinking?? Freedom comes in our 40's! Now, I want to respect my body and be the best *I* can be and not try to look like anybody else.

You go girl and have an awesome weekend!!
Pam

Congratulations! I'm still looking. It's always the last area to tone and show! My BF hangs around there for so long! I've done one year so far and my weight is at goal. Now, it's tackling the BF. Oh, aaaAAAaaabsssss, where are you?????????

I hope to see what you see soon!
