Probably a stupid Question...

...but I wanted to double check. I just ordered Pyramid Upper and Lower body, and it says they use 5 lb. ankle weights... so I need to buy 2 5-lb ankle weights, or 2 2.5-lb ankle weights? I just wanted to make sure since I will be buying them in the next week. Thanks!

You probably don't need the ankle weights for Pyramid Lower body. The only exercise you would need them for is the legs lifts on the stability ball. Believe me, they are challenging enough without ankle weights. If you're going to get them, I would think that the 2 2.5-lb weights would be challenging enough.

You are going to love the Pyramids. They are one of my favorites.

I think it's more like two- 2lbs or 2.5lbs ankle weights. The box may say 4-lbs ankle weights (which is really 2-lbs ankle weight for each ankle).

I hope this helps.:)

And you can easily substitute a dumbbell held on the thigh above the knee for an ankle weight on this move.

On the other hand:

You could buy ankle weights that are adjustable; several companies make ankle weights that come with little pockets into which you slip 1/2-lb iron rods, so that as your leg strength increases you can incrementally increase the weight load. To me that's the best kind of bargain, because then you're not stuck with one weight load.

And yes, when it says they use 5-lb ankle weights that's 5 lbs PER WEIGHT. Starting out with 5'lb'ers might be a little much, so do consider getting adjustables. Standard Big Box stores ranging from Target to Sports Authority carry them, as well as many online catalog companies.

I agree. If you do get ankle weights, adjustable are the way to go. I LOVE my Ironwear adjustable ankle weights. They go from 1/2 pound to 5 pounds each (with"soft weights," heavy rubber weights, that don't rust like metal, don't leak like sand, and are very comfortable), can be fastened around the ankle or above the knee, and can also be linked together to form a weight belt. The weights also fit in the Ironwear weighted vest.
