Pretty Preggos Aug 9-15

Susan- Don't push yourself too much! You are expected to be tired and have lower energy. Sugar has been my enemy during pregnancy. One bite and I'm done!

Priscilla- I love when I have time to catch up on shows I like. It means I'm relaxing finally!

Allison- 6 weeks now?! Whew! You will be holding your little one before you know it! Glad to hear you had a quick appointment.

I did an old Taebo 30 minute workout tonight and I had fun. Wasn't too hard but enough to get me moving so I can stretch. But the past couple times I have worked out, afterwards I get some weird butt pain on the left side. Feels like a nerve...

Today was DH's birthday so I made him a lasagna and this amazing butterscotch caramel chocolate cake (was real easy). See, sugar is my enemy...I could have eaten two pieces! But I stuck to only one.

Hi ladies! I made it through two workdays! LOL Now I have beach time. :D :D I can't wait to go to beach tomorrow......I've wanted to go all summer, but we've really had an unseasonably cold summer.....but tomorrow it's going to hit 90 degrees!!!!!!! YES!!!!! The kids are so excited.

I haven't really pooped in about 5 days again. :( I started the Miralax again about 3-4 days ago,....but I also started my prenatal vitamin again.

Jen, we are a VERY healthy group of pregnant women. :D We are all blessed!!!!

Oh! I got my settlement check today. About a months worth of salary, so I'm happy about that. I have to stash it away for my maternity leave & pay some medical bills.

Oh, Mel -- 5 days?!?! You poor thing. Have a great day at the beach :)

Jen, the cake sounds sinfully delicious! I would have had 2 pieces myself LOL! I've been wanting to bake, but hot/humid summer weather finally graced us with its presence -- blech.

Priscilla, I *love* The Office -- I think it's so well written and absolutely hilarious!

Morning!
Ok nights sleep..woke up with the butt pain but rolled over and it eventually got better...then Haley woke up at 3 and I went and got in bed with her and got up at 530. Could of been worse. I think I will skp working out today but move a little in the pool this afternoon.
31 Weeks tomorrow...9 to go!
Waves to everyone! bbl

Hi everyone!

33-week apt today and no weight gain. Woo-hoo! I did read that weight tends to even itself off in the third trimester so that is good. And I know I've been eating better. Hormones seem to be under control (thus the cravings are manageable), and protein is doing the trick (I pack hard-boiled eggs, cheese, and these high-folic-acid Luna bars that I like for snacks throughout the day). Oh, and I still sprinkle a little metamucil into my water. Not a huge amount to affect taste but enough to keep things moving well. :) If I forget, I definitely notice it. We'll just leave it at that, but I've been very pleased with this trick (I just think it must be impossible to get enough fiber any other way).

It's amazing how I hold my breath at each apt until I hear the heartbeat. :) And the little girl sounded loud and clear (and kicks that way, too).

I'm glad everyone is hanging in there. If we're venting to each other, then it means we've found a good coping mechanism. As for me, sleep? What sleep? A few hours on one side. Restroom. A few hours on the next side. Restroom. A little tossing and turning. Restroom. Time for TV. Restroom. Fall back asleep. Alarm clock. And so it goes. I have decided since I have not been sleeping to cut back on my work hours. Currently, if we work an extra hour each day, we get every other Friday off. It's wonderful if you're not pregnant. :-] I think it's time to cut back one hour a day. It means I'll have to work five days a week, but at least I won't fall asleep at my desk anymore.

I'll try to scan and post some belly pics tomorrow.

Hugs to everyone,
Dawn

P.S. If you haven't seen it already, Cathe's blog has something fun where you can add the pregnancy tracker to your signature. It's measured in days (I would have preferred weeks), but it's kinda fun--assuming I did it right!

Hi ladies!
Dawn-^5 on the steady weight! Your sleep sounds a lot like mine! Good for you for cutting back on your hours. You deserve it! I may try your metamucil trick! Cool about the pregnancy tracker!

Haley and I just spent 2 hours at Walmart....luckily it wasnt too busy. The Walmart here was just re-vamped and they moved everything around so we had to hunt for a few items! Eats today have been good so far

tuna on whole wheat pita and spinach, lentil soup
so far so good!
I was out of fruit but am now stocked up. Tonight will be roast, rice, veggies.

Jen-I gotta have that recipe! Sounds delicious! That darn sugar!

It's very easy...
1 box of chocolate cake mix (I used Betty Crocker Triple Choc. Fudge)
1 tub of whipped topping
1 jar of butterscotch caramel ice cream topping (Its a speciality one right now)
3 bars of Heath candy crunch

Bake the cake according to the directions and cool. Using a wooden spoon poke holes in the cake and drizzle the ice cream topping in the holes. Pour the rest of the ice cream topping over the cake and then spread with the whipped topping. Crush the Heath bars and sprinkle on top. Refrigerate for at least two hours before eating.

It is heaven! I cooled the cake for over an hour so the whipped topping wouldn't melt. Can't wait to hear how you like it!

Dawn- That's great on the weight gain (or lack of)! Your night sounds like mine....left side, pee, right side, pee, slightly on side/back, pee, back to left side, alarm.

Melanie- Enjoy the beach! I loved floating in the water, it was so relaxing!

Susan- Good job on the eats! I had another piece of cake tonight. YUM!

Had a long training all day so no workout tonight. Maybe tomorrow....

The cake sounds good -- and I don't even eat Cool Whip anymore!!!! (though I've been wanting to eat some with my strawberries and blueberries :))

Dawn, great news about no weight gain! I was pleased at my appt on Monday to hear I hadn't gained either. I'd be happy to hear that at every upcoming appt ;)

Mel, glad you had such a great time at the beach. You live in the Midwest, right? So, was this a beautiful lake beach?

Susan, glad you had some bum relief last night. I hope you do tonight as well. Your dinner sounds yummy. We just restocked on fruit on Monday -- DD and I have eaten 2 lbs of grapes since Monday afternoon!!

Today I did Butts and Guts standing work, my first workout in 2 weeks. I've been so busy painting and cleaning and organizing that I just haven't had time.

Melanie-you look awesome...just beautiful!!!!! Glad you had fun at the beach!

Allison-I was wanting grapes sooo bad...got some today and they are just gross..hard and sour! We are going to the "big city" on Saturday so I"ll get some at the fancy grocery store!

Aw, you look cute, Melanie!

Susan, we only like firm, sweet red grapes in our house (DD and I are very picky ;)). Well, I like grapes in the form of wine too :p. Yum, yum, yum! We go through strawberries and grapes like we go through water (and I go through lots of blueberries and blackberries too, but DD suddenly won't eat them anymore. Sigh. Age 3 is soooo fun sometimes!).

Hi Ladies,

I promised I would post some pictures, so here goes. Note the tired eyes. Ah, elusive sleep. I suppose that's mother nature's way of getting us ready to be moms to new borns.

On another note, do I need a PhD to understand how to install the $#%# car seat? :) I know I need to find the car manual to figure out what's best for my car, and I do have an apt where someone from the county will check the installation for free, but I didn't realize I'd have so much trouble. Ah well. New day, new challenges.

Have a great day everyone,
Dawn
