pretty mommies 5/4---5/???

Kate - Me too with the white carbs. I do have a weakness for fresh french bread though. Be safe on your trip!

Becky - Good to hear from you!

Wendy - ROFL about the yoga dude next to you. How did you keep yourself from not cracking up??? Ooooh, I want a kitchen aid. Which one did you get?

I really gotta get going to work. Pomai is napping so I will be getting ready to leave. I ate clean yesterday and even made a chocolate shake for dd without making one for myself! DH is eating really clean and working out like mad so that helps. He lost 20lbs in like a month. Men have it so easy I swear. Anyway have a great day ladies!

Lisa

Hi mamas!
Kate--Have fun on your errandmax! Did you say you got a Kitchen Aid? I *heart* mine. It's the most wonderful appliance in my kitchen. Got it from my parents for a wedding present. You'll love love love it!
Wendy--Eww on the guy at yoga. That would totally ruin my workout --especially yoga. Hope you get some answers on your hand soon!
Becky--Glad you're getting settled! I know that three flights is hard. My inlaws have three flights at their house, and it's very exhausting chasing babies up and down all those stairs!! But how exciting that you have a workout room. I dream of a room JUST FOR ME. Enjoy!! :)
Lisa--Yay for Pomai's pound and inch! Yes, our babies are growing TOO FAST!!
Maggie--You still out there??? Miss your posts!!!
Hi to Clarissa, Sydney and Candra and anyone else I may have missed!
----
Been SUCH a productive day. Got Oliver on the bus, took Henry to preschool, and Charlie fell asleep and let me get a 20-minute run and ab circuits in. AND he let me clean downstairs while he played. Such a good baby. Now he's asleep again, so I should clean upstairs. Note the word "should." Ab circuits was HARD. I did the stability ball one, and I am not the same gal I used to be pre-Charlie. Can't even come close to doing pikes any more. :( Oh well. I'll get there again. ... Tonight is Henry's soccer practice. Wish it would rain. (Bad, I know.) We're having a little fiesta tonight to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. No, we're not hispanic, just enjoy any chance to celebrate a holiday (but I did minor in Spanish in college -does that count?). Making fajitas and Mexican brownies (which I shan't partake of...). Well, better get busy before little one wakes up and we have to pick up Henry. Have a great day gals!!!

Just wanted to pop back in here to vent because I can't do it on the OD or I'll get flamed. OK, I am SO TIRED of skinny skinny gals complaining about losing weight or controlling their diet on the OD. I just read another one from a gal who is 5'4" and 106 pounds complaining about cravings. YOU"RE HUNGRY BECAUSE YOU'RE TOO DARN SKINNY!!!!!! Geesh. I am 5'2" and was a size 4 at my wedding and weighed 112 pounds! I don't think I've ever been 106 pounds. QUIT YOUR griping.

*stepping off of totally deranged/post-pregnancy-chubbiness-induced soapbox*

Thanks for letting me vent.

OMG Steph. That would annoy me to no end. I try to stay away from those threads on the OD. I think I was 106 before high school and I'm just about 5'. That was the last time I was ever 106. Oooh, what are Mexican brownies? I don't think I would even attempt a pike at this stage of my fitness. I could do it well prepg, but my abs and back are so whacked now I can barely do side planks and any of the more "advanced" ab work. Vent away, we all understand!!

Hello Moms!!

Hi mamas!
Kate--oops on the mixer mix-up. Two??? That's AWESOME!! Um, the brownies, um.... well... let's just say, resistance was futile. I should know better. But I didn't do too badly. Overall, dinner was pretty darn clean... Glad your trip went well! I'm with you on shining today to make up for yesterday!

Sydney- Glad Anna did well on her second day! I'm sorry for my last long-winded post. I thought she was your first! I can't imagine having a teenager. I so dread those years!!! Are they as rough as I imagine?? Way to go on the workouts! That's awesome!

Lisa--Glad to know I'm not the only one who can't do pikes right now. We'll get there eventually, though!!

Hi to everyone else!!!
---------
Well, I wanted to run this morning, but running yesterday was a little hard on my ankle. It's still not 100 percent. I'm wondering if I did have a fracture and didn't know it. Pushing through though. I may give it a go in a little bit. Had a SLEEPLESS night. The big boys both had big meltdowns at bed time. I'm talking historic meltdowns worthy of Jo Frost. I don't like ending the day on a bad note, so I had trouble getting to sleep. Then Charlie woke up; Henry woke up afraid of the dark -- twice; and Oliver had a bad dream = no sleep. After a cup of coffee, I'm feeling a bit more energetic. Going to do S&H chest/back tonight and hopefully get that run in today. BABY FAT BE GONE!!! Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Stephanie no worries!! Your post was great. Everyone who sees me with Anna asks if she is my first. I think it is because I am always starring at her!! ;)
The teenaged years.... oh... I don't know what to say... for the most part it is great... the worrying never ends because I want nothing bad to ever happen to them-but I have to step back and let them live their lives. It's nice when they are doing what I would do in their place--stressful when they go their own way. It's amazing really.

sydney - well said about the teenage years! and on that note, i just got a lecture from my 15yo ds about how all of you could be middle aged men in real life who are looking for some kind of thrill going on "women's" sites, creating fake lives and such. he had me cracking up with all the possibilities!! LOL!!

headed to the hand doc... bbl

wendy

stephanie, kick butt on that wo!!!!
sorry for the kid-drama! were they tired? thatswhen gina seems to lose it.
i cant be trusted w/ desserts either.

sydney, lol! i am forever kissing the top of j's head and those chubby cheeks!

wendy, lol at ds! dh has said the same thing!
hope thedr goes ok!

-
nice day at pre-k....came home, got kinda stressed, took it out on half a brownie
my sister is over now so she'll keep dds busy. shes staying for dinner too. i love her!

wendy... your DS is so funny!! (you never know....)

Stephanie..hope that you didn't fracture your ankle!! no fun.. I'm with you BABY FAT BE GONE!!
Lisa..I could never do pikes!! one of the reasons I'm afraid to do my Adam Ford upper body DVD. How did your DH lose those 20 lbs? my hubby is the same way.... he eats a few salads and he's like 7 lbs lighter!!

My a.m workout was great..... 21 min walk/run on treadmill and 35 min on the ellipical. Then I did some upper body work @ the gym... I only did 3 because I find myself missing my Cathe weight workouts when I'm @ the gym.

p.m workout was kettlebells again... tonight was something new.. KettleWorX cardio... only lasted 11min.:( I have yet to eat supper.... still don't know what to eat... don't want to ruin my good fitness day.

I might have already ruined it with the white chocolate moca I had after my earlier workout....

Sydney, What an inspiration you are! You are killin; the workouts!!!
Oops on the mocha! SO GLAD I don't like anything to drink but water!! I'd be in big(ger) trouble!

-Did STS M3 Wk1 sh, tris, bis. Was surprised - I could go heavier on most things compared to what my card listed. Good, I guess!

-Thursday I'm shopping at an outside mall with 2 youngest DDs and my sister. Need to get Moms Day stuff and M's grandma is turning 80. NO CLUE on what to get any of them! I just may find myself on a little JCrew and Banana Republic spree while I'm there! Out to lunch too - can't wait!!!

Hi ladies. I ended up not officially working out yesterday (but did lots of stuff around the house...up and down stairs multiple times, etc). Today I did my first workout on my new aerobic flooring (thick puzzle mats, but still better than tile!). I have a 120 square foot area (10x12) aerobic area. I did Rythmic Step and with all that room to move around I was pooped! I'm down to 139 now. I guess a week of moving things in and painting was a good for the scale!

I can't do STS right now. My wrists are seriously hurting. I think it is a mix of carpal tunnel and radial nerve injury. I can't even hold Zoey's baby bottle very long with my right hand. I'm giving them a rest for a while. Cardio it is (maybe some light circuits in a few days though)

Sydney, you are really doing great with your workouts. Your talking about the mocha is really making me crave coffee. I need to buy some...none in the house right now.

Stephanie, sorry about the bad night sleep. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Wendy, I need a new mixer too...or at least get mine fixed. Only the highest speed works. My house-sitter found out the hard way about a year ago when she tried to make brownies. Clicked it on and poof! Brownie mix all over the walls!

Kate, I'm out of the loop. Where in Ohio did you go? I'm in Cincinnati now.

Ditto on fiesta the day after Cinco de Mayo. DH and I had tacos tonight. I love me some tacos!

Back to the grindstone. Lots more to do around the house.

Becky

Kate-- have fun shoppingmax! I'm making my mom a basket of stuff for mother's day -- homemade "tub teas" (bath sachets), a book, some lavender lotion, etc. And the boys are giving her a framed picture of the three of them. I love making baskets.

Sydney--WOW on the workouts!! You are doing sooooo great! Thanks for inspiring me!

Becky-- You, my dear, are my goal weight. I'm 20 pounds away from that!! Way to go!! How exciting about your workout room! Glad you're enjoying it!

Maggie-- Where are you, lady??
----
Well, I banged out S&H chest/back tonight. Didn't get a run in, but that's OK because I want to run tomorrow and I'm not sure my ankle can handle consecutive days of it yet. Will run and do ab circuits tomorrow. Or maybe Yoga Booty Ballet -- just for fun/stretch to go with the run. Ate really really well today, but blew it tonight. I think I could afford the extra calories, though. DH bought me a bottle of wine, so I had a half glass with my soup and BREAD . When will I learn to not touch that evil bread!! Oh well.
By the way, did you know a serving of semi-sweet choc chips has only 70 calories??? I've been desserting on that at night. I have a wicked sweet tooth, and AF is here, so chocolate has tasted SO good. 70 cals for chocolate ain't bad! Well, off to try to get Charlie to GO TO SLEEP!!! What's with my little night owl tonight??

becky, ive gotten a lot of relief for ctunnel from a chiro. hope it heals up!
wtg on the ####! yay for the wo area!!!
we werent too far into oh. abut 20-30 min s of the mi border. not sure of the town! farms, tho...lots of em!

stephanie, bread is so hard!!!
nice basket idea!
yikes! c was still up?? hope you got some sleep!

-

mornin!

so went to doc, a PA actually, and have a mix of carpal tunnel (he says only slight) and de quervains tendonitis, otherwise know as handmaids or mothers wrist lol. more info here, maybe this is you, too, becky?

http://www.assh.org/Public/HandConditions/Pages/deQuervain'sTendonitis.aspx

PA prescribed pt, ice massage 2-3x/day (???) and 2 serious-looking braces that immobilize thumb down through wrist that im to wear all the time (double ???). how in the heck?!?!? i couldnt DO anything with those damn things on yesterday! yoga and weight lifting were not off the table, though, he said to check with the PT about how it will fit in to what theyll be doing with me. the research i did last night said the braces show little effect and ice massaging multiple x daily plus certain stretches had the quickest results...

kate - fun fun shopping with the gals! just sent you a pm, q about my kitchenaid =)

stephanie - it sounds like your wo's are going great lately! hope charlie slept for ya last night...

becky - do you have a kitchenaid? how long before it busted? youve got me nervous now LOL. it was a big purchase and better last! i think "official" wo's can wait while youre in the throws of moving madness! i actually lost about 5lbs when we moved 2 years ago

sydney - i cant believe the wo energy youve got! i was so low on energy at the pp point youre at. you go girl! i still do starbucks 3-4x /week but only 1 or 2 pumps of the syrup in whatever drink i get, i did it slowly, basically weaned myself of the sugary-ness and same with my home coffee (so for ex white mocha with skim and 1 pump syrup.. quite delish! try it!).

JJ is 8 months this week... anyone else doing finger foods at this age? no teeth yet. ive been giving him a few cheerios on the tray at each feeding but dh thinks its a choking hazard...

hi to all the other mommies!

wendy

wow on all the wrist stuff, wendy!!!:eek: i would think the brce/immobilizing would create other probs!
julia will be 7 months next week. yday i gave her a cpl cheerios bit in half/....she loved them. set a cpl on her tray this a.m......she picked them right up and shovelled em in! Go Chunky Go!!!:D

oooo forgot to say i did BM2 dbl upper body... loved it! this is a new purchase for me and all the options, wowee! loved the ub work on my new stability ball, thanks candra!! and thanks to those who helped me decide what to buy with my discount =)

kate, yup, totally agree that immobilizing is not nec. a good thing and my web research said as much, i think i may sleep with the brace and thats it (totally opposite of what PA said!). should i be doing the cheerios in half? jj hasnt exacty raked em in, but the hand eye coord work is hilarious to watch hehe. and 10-4 on the pm, slicer/shredder it is =)

hosting playgroup again this week, indoors because its sposed to rain this afternoon.

Kate - Pomai is doing great with her solids. Doesn't seem to care for the applesauce though. She liked the sweet potatoes. So much fun making your own babyfood! I just steam it and puree it in my blender. My sister has the one like you from William Sonoma, but I opted for the cheaper version. My older kids have been getting smoothies and shakes from the blender so everyone benefits!

Becky - It must be fun wo in your new designated wo room! We have those puzzle mats also for our weights so it doesn't dent or scratch the wood floor.

Steph - Another sweet food junkie here. Good job on the wo and eats!

Wendy - I had to wear the brace pp 24/7 and it really did make a difference for me. I don't have any problems at all now. It takes getting used to, but it did help my wrist.

It's just crazy busy ladies, and I am stressed. I totally want to bake brownies and eat the whole pan! I worked out everyday except yesterday because I was exhausted. Planning on some MM today. I have for the most part been eating well so I have to keep it up. The vog here is making my allergies crazy and the weather nasty humid. I finally fit into my prepg clothes, but my scale still reads I have 4 more lbs to go. How is that? Anyway, I would love to lose a "vanity" - as Maggie would say- 5more lbs, but I'm happy if I just lose the 4. Hope everyone is having a great day!!
