Prenatal Pilates and/or Yoga recommendations

Hi all! Wanting your recommendations for good prenatal pilates and/or yoga dvds. I'm intermediate/advanced so would really like something that is a little past the beginner level.

I have Crunch's Yoga Mama that I like okay and am hoping to find a good pilates tape.

Thanks!!!!!

truthfully, everyone I have done is pretty easy/stupid. Collage Video features a video with Alan Finger, which COllage criticizes for being too 'hard'-- I am going to try that since I find the others too easy (and I am not even close to being advanced.)

There's also that Crunch 'fat burning' (HA!) pilates with a lot of standing ab work. i've been using that occasionally.

good luck

rats, that's what I was afraid of.

Did you try the Prenatal Pilates dvd with Sarah Picot? I've been looking at this one.

Thanks for the input!

I don't have any recommendations, sorry :7 ... but are you pregnant? I remember seeing you in here (Fit Moms section) a long time ago asking some questions and saying you might be trying in the future. Congratulations!

Hi,

I really like Dr. Christine Anderson's Dynamic Prenatal Yoga DVD (do a search on the above words, and you can find the web site). I teach prenatal yoga, and Dr. Chris's DVD is quite a step or two up from the class that I teach (but I have all beginners too in my class). What I like about this video is that it has different levels of modifications based on the different trimesters, and some of those ladies in the tape, are doing what I would consider little modifications....even though they are in the 3rd trimester. It is really amazing that we can really take it up a notch or two, even in our third trimester. (But don't worry, there are others who are doing other types of modifications, in their 3rd trimester.) I really enjoyed the relaxation in this dvd also. Dr. Chris is a chiropracter too, and a long time yoga practioner and teacher. (75 minutes long if you include both the intro breathing section, and the relaxation section).

On the other end of the spectrum, I like the Shiva Rhea Prenatal Yoga video also. Plus, I like the YogaFit Prenatal tape, for all the different poses. This tape is about 45 minutes long.

Hope this helps!

Gaileee, RYT (and also 4 months along)
