Premixes for the time-crunched

I don't know if it's possible, but I'd love to see future workouts feature a timesaver premix or two that are only 20-30 minutes in length for those days when one is truly time-crunched.

I am right there with you and would also love to see some shorter timesaver premixes. The premixes have become a favorite of mine.
 
I like having a variety of premix lengths from 30 minutes (anything less than that could probably be created by us using the warm-up, one workout segment, and the cooldown, so could be easily done using the chapter menu--in fact, if certain workouts could be used in that way, but don't contain a shorter premix, it might be nice for SNM to include a small crib sheet with each DVD that would list not only chapters, but give suggestions on mixes we could easily make on our own, which would add to the variety of ways we could use each DVD) to 70 or 90 minutes.

That's true about anything less than 30 minutes - good point - so a crib sheet would be AWESOME! But I suppose I would still like to see more premixes in the 30 min. or even 40 min. range. With some DVDs, I go to the premixes hoping to find something under 45 minutes, and the options are all about an hour or longer. I don't mean to sound picky - I *love* Cathe's workouts and know that no other instructors offer such smartly-chaptered options...but time is my biggest issue, and I think having at least one relatively short premix per DVD would probably appeal to many.

Yes! I think that this is a grest suggestion for the time crunched! I've seen some threads asking for shorter workouts but this is a much better idea, in my opnion. Please keep the workouts long with shorter premix options, especially cardio. I think we all get more bang for our buck when we have more cardio footage to choose from and the premix options can be shorter and varied instead of having to double up the same cardio segments to get a longer workout. That would get boring fast. I think shorter premixes, maybe stating the focus or purpose of the premix, would help people who are short on time, plan their workouts and get what they want.

EXCELLENT IDEA!!!! I would much rather have a very long original workout to do when I have time or on my straight cardio days and then a bunch of different length premixes to choose from. Sometimes I only want a 30 min cardio workout to do before I lift weights. I just don't have 2 hours or more to devote to cardio and weights!

Anyway, all of you are coming up with such awesome ideas and I know Cathe will be listening and try to do whatever she can to help us out!!!

I know Cathe's going to be working on a 4 day split dvd, wouldn't it be great to have a 4 day split dvd for those of us who are time crunched? Lots of good ideas!

I've mentioned this before in another thread : I think it would be nice to have DVD's that would contain a warm-up, cool-down and 3-4 15-20-minute segments that one could mix and match to make workouts ranging from 30 minutes or so to 80 minutes or so.
 
This is a great idea. On those days when you just can't get a full workout in, it's nice to be able to do something.
