pregnancy video help needed

Hi, I actually came to Cathe's site to see if she has made any pregnancy videos. I noticed your post, and thought I'd reply to exchange ideas. I'm 16 weeks pregnant, and my doctor has told me to keep my heartrate below 140. I ordered three pregnancy videos from another website, and I just did the first this morning--very, very low impact and much too easy for me right now. It might work at 8 months. I'll have to let you know if the other two are worth it. But, what I've been doing is all of the Cathe step videos that I have, but I just modify them by taking out the jumping and some of the turning moves. It actually works quite well. It's a good workout because I'm still moving up and down on the step, but it keeps my heartrate down at an acceptable level. If I am feeling good one day, I'll add in some high impact moves at certain points, but I make sure not to overdo it. Not sure if it will help, but you might want to try it with the videos that you have already. If Cathe happens to read this--we need a pregnancy video or two! It's a good market, and there's not much out there.

Cathe's Low Impact Step will likely fit the bill for you. Basic Step is a good one too.

As needed, eliminate jumps and hops and arm movements. And if you have to, just do the routine on the 4" Step (no risers) or on the floor.

Cardio & Weights is also popular among the pregnant set! I ordered it when I was pregnant, but still haven't done it (and baby will be 3 months this coming Monday!).

Hi,
You might also try posting this in the fit mom's forum of the website for more ideas.

As for me, I'm doing Cathe's Basic Step dvd as part of my weekly rotation and love it. I rotate it in with my elliptical and walks outside for cardio, and then have found a few prenatal dvd's I really like (Prenatal Pilates with Niece Pecenka, and the Perfect Pregnancy Workout). These provide good toning.

Hope that's helpful, I've also heard that the Low Impact Step dvd of Cathe's is great and I plan on purchasing it to use postpartum.

Good Luck!

Stacey
