It was good to read your posts.
Sandra, are you pregnant, or a new mommy, or hoping to be pregnant soon? The CTX series is actually one of the easier series for me to do because I used it after having my daughter (almost 4 years ago) and we had so much going on in our lives at that time, that I got really used to the shorter workouts and kept doing the tapes. I took some time off from working out (going down to 3 days instead of 5 or 6) and finally had gotten my groove back this fall when my son started Kindergarten and vowed that I would have at least 2 workouts a week be 1 hour in length. I received Cathe's newest series and was using that exclusively and loving it, with great results, when I found out I was pregnant. I tried to keep up with that series for awhile, but thru feeling sick and being depressed and everything (this pregnancy was not planned) I did have some poor weeks of only getting in 3 workouts, etc. I just found it easier to go back to the shorter workouts, plus what my body was used to. I am only using a 6" board, and I am not doing pliae (sp?) squats in Leaner Legs as I noticed that my left quad was really bothering me (for a few days) whenever I did them. I do modify a bit on some of the intervals - for instance, on Kickbox Express, I do not do power scissors, and instead alternate high jogs and butt kicks (as Cathe calls it in her newest kickbox tape) instead. I can't do plyo jacks right now either as my knees really bother me - they feel like lactic acid build up - when I climb stairs or do something plyometric, but again, would incorporate something like power lunges, run plunge lunge, power circles, or whatever instead. This past week, I have modified the arm movements to not exceed shoulder-height which really made a difference in today's workout. Somedays, my workouts feel easy and other days, very difficult, but I know it will all be worth it when I'm able to fit into my prepregnancy clothes soon after delivery (I hope!!! I have with my other 2 pregnancies, so I feel pretty good this time around). Thanks for asking. Hope this helped. Sorry I'm so thorough! (Oh, and my shoulder workout REALLY killed me last week!)
Tana: You had a great week! You're getting really close, too. I can't remember - is this your first? And do you know what you're having? Sorry if I asked previously, but I have been so busy and at this point in my pregnancy, I don't remember much anymore!
I do live in Washington state (northwest) and it is absolutely beautiful. The summers keep getting better and better here. My husband hates the heat and would be happy if it was 60 or 65 all summer. He's crazy. But I do not really like it when it gets to be much hotter than 80. We've had a lot of mid 80's to 90's this year. I'm ready for the cooler fall weather. I definitely love the fact that we have 4 seasons in WA. Where do your husband's relatives live? You will have to be sure to visit them after you have the baby so you can see how pretty it is for yourself. I live in the City of Gig Harbor (45 min south of Seattle). It's a quaint community with a 4 mile boardwalk along the water. There is almost water everywhere you turn here. The community is growing, but has really strived to stay small or to have a small close-knit feeling. It's a great place to raise a family. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
Take care, hope more people check in. Can't wait to hear from Diana! She must have had baby by now!
