Hello Ladies!

I'm afraid this last week looks pretty bad as far as workouts go...
I've been in South Carolina helping my sister move back to town (Illinois) - her husband is in the Marines and was shipped off to Iraq for 7 months (or more).

Anyway, here is my week:

Sunday - 2/15 - timesaver #2 & intermediate intensity drills from #4
Monday - 2/16 - shape it up
Tuesday - 2/17 - off
Wednesday - 2/18 - off
Thursday - 2/19 - off
Friday - 2/20 - walking on the beach ;)
Saturday - 2/21 - off

I can't wait to workout again this week! :)

Hope everyone has a good week!

Hi Christy,

It's discouraging that no one else has checked in. Everybody must of had a bad week. The only workout I did was push pull on Thurs. I just didn't have the energy for anything else.

Take care.

I did have a bad week. I didn't do one workout. I was having pretty bad morning sickness, but this week is so much better. I'm actually going to be able to post next week. I'm so excited!

Anyway, Jacque, I just wanted to see how you are doing and if you're starting to get excited at all. I went through the initial phase of shock and disappointment, and then I think I was okay with it for awhile, but for a few weeks now (maybe longer) I have been so depressed just thinking how I really, really do not want another child. I feel so complete with the two that I already have. I woke up today feeling pretty awful about my emotions - even though I know they're normal, and just told myself that I'm going to stop feeling sorry for myself, and just not think negative thoughts anymore. I'm going to "force" myself to get excited and stop telling people that it was a shock when we found out because my husband had a vasectomy in June. My husband has been really worried about how I'll feel towards the baby because I've been really honest with him. He doesn't want the baby to feel as if he/she was unloved or unwanted regardless of how difficult this is for either of us. Babies really are a blessing.

Take care,
Stacey

Here is how I have been feeling. I am in my 10th week and I have not gotten sick at all BUT I am always hungrey and have been out of control. I think I have gained more then the suggested weight because my pants are already too tight at the waist. so far nothing else seems to be gaining weight right now. Well except my boobs. I was a B and now I am falling out of a C already. This is my first time being pregnant so all this seems so wierd to me. I have been lucky with not being sick but my whole body has felt so wierd and I am so tired so I am looking forward ot being done with the first trimaster. Let me know how the rest of you are doing and I look forward to going through this with you all.:)

I'm checking in late. My energy levels have been on a rollercoaster so some days I've been dusting off older videos for lighter impact. I feel better getting a light workout in than none at all.

I'm having a major brain fade because I can't remember which days I did what workouts last week. Early on I know I did CTX all step/shoulders one day and CTX power circuit/back another. I did Yoga on Monday. On Saturday 2/21 I did Simply Endurance and tagged on QF Stability Ball Workout. I also did lower impact cardio at some point.

My leg aches were due to potassium deficiency because I'm drinking lots and lots of water. I just added a second banana to my daily fruit intake and that seems to have worked. I'm trying to drink more orange juice (I got on a cranberry-grape juice kick the past few weeks!) and try to eat a serving of potatos once a week, too.

Amanda, I know how you feel about the hunger. I was quite ravenous in addition to fatigue and morning sickness. All of that made me feel quite beside myself (this is my first, too). But I'm 16 weeks now and feeling much better. So hang in there and that goes for everyone in the first trimester. Other than a few days two weeks ago when the icky feeling returned, I've been feeling great so it's true the 2nd tri is easier. And my weight gain has tapered off as well as my appetite and the doctor says I'm right where I should be at this point. So I figure my body needed those extra calories early on to do what it had to do!

I just wanted to say that you ladies are doing awesome! I did not workout more than a half dozen times in my first trimester because I was so tired and nauseous.

My two cents... don't worry about how many workouts you get in a week. Just take it day by day and see how you feel - if your body says 'no more' than listen to it! Your body is doing so much more than you realize and I think it will tell you what it needs and what it can handle if you listen close enough.

Keep up the good work! :)

Hi Stacey,

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well. It makes an already difficult situation seem worse. I admire you for not choosing to end this pregnancy like so many women in your situation would do. I wouldn't worry about not loving this baby. You'll find when he/she arrives that you'll have enough love for all three and wonder why you ever doubted. I know that seems of little comfort now but I hope it helps a little.

As for myself I'm starting to accept it more though I can't say I'm really excited at this point. I sometimes find myself doubting my decision to have another. I don't regret it though, if that makes any sense. Right now it feels like I have never ending PMS. I feel so bloated, tired, moody, and I'm getting bad headaches. At least there's no morning sickness so it's not all bad:) I'm determined not to gain a ton of weight but yet I'm eating too much and don't have the motivation or energy to work out so I'm hoping to get a grip on that soon.

Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing.

Where's Sara?

You ladies are doing marvelous! I'm so proud of you. There were several spuratic (sp) weeks during my pregnancy that I didn't have the energy to workout...or I only worked out once that week. I felt awful, like a complete sloth. It's important that you listen to your body and take time off as needed WITHOUT guilt.

I've been praying for all you ladies. I know some of you have difficulty accepting your pregnancies. As you already know, your pregnancies are a blessing. I will continue to pray that you will find joy in your pregnancies and the future of having a new baby. Don't let the enemy rob you women of the joys of pregnancy. You deserve it.

Cathe's CTX and Timesavers are absolutely wonderful for pregnancies and postpartum. They're short and effective. There were times I did just the cardio portion and left it at that. :) Have a great week ladies!

Hi there!!

I'd like to join in on the weekly check-in's. (Maybe it'll help motivate me.) I found out I was pregnant about a month ago, and I've been a slug ever since. It seems so tough to get the energy up to do anything. All I want to do nowadays is snack. :)

Okay, here is how my poor, unmotivated week went:

Sunday Off
Monday Off again
Tuesday Treadmill 45 min
Wednesday Off once more
Thursday Off a 4th time
Friday Pyramid Upper Body
Saturday Off (but I walked around a lot at a Women's Fair--that's gotta count)

Yikes, it looks kinda puny. I think it's motivated me to go do Push Pull now. :D

Gosh, I sure hope energy kicks back in soon!!

RE: Where's Sara?

Hi girls! How nice of you to ask about me, Melanie!! How are YOU doing??? My mom has been visiting this week and we have been working on Makena's room so I have been too busy to check in until today.
I can't believe how awesome all of you are doing!!!!! For all of you first trimester girls, hang in there, it is tough but you are doing incredible!!! My energy levels were terrible, too!
Anyway, here was my week last week:
Sun: off
Mon: Step Blast
Tues: ME express workout
Wed: Imax 2 - int. 1-5 (modified, of course! ;))
Th: off
Fri: off
Sat: Firm - PP Fat burning

I'm really starting to get big now, so I just do as much as I can! I love to read how well all of you doing - keep up the awesome work!!!

Jacque:

Thanks for your post. I've been able to workout 4 times so far this week. Hoping to make tomorrow day #5. That alone has helped my mood tremendously. I've also been feeling MUCH better.

It is hard to get motivated to do anything right now, isn't it? I do okay after 9:00 a.m. and until dinner time, but after dinner, I do not want to move. Tonight, I still had to workout, and I didn't want to, but I did (Leaner Legs) and as soon as I got upstairs and started working out, I felt GREAT. Now I'm actually still able to work a bit this evening for my business. Even though it would be more fun to sit on the couch, it doesn't get stuff done. Darn it! :)

I'm determined to do even better this pregnancy than I did with my duaghter. My jeans are SO low-rise that I'm actually wondering if I'll be able to wear them for quite awhile? That would be great! I'll let you guys know if it works, and if so, head to your nearest American Eagle and get some low-rise jeans! I took measurements today so I could gauge prepregnancy where I was and see how I do throughout. So far the only measurement that has changed is my waist & bust. I could tell it had changed quite a bit, but by 3 whole inches! I guess the uterus is the size of a grapefruit now that I'm 12 weeks. I miss my waist already, though, and I know I haven't even seen the worst of it by far. :-(

I had a day last week (the first one that I really was feeling better) and ate 3 hamburgers one from Dairy Queen and 2 from Mc Donalds just 2 hours later. Just the plain burger, no cheese, no fries, no coke. I used to be a vegetarian and the thought of a fast-food burger really makes my stomach turn, but I was STARVING every hour and a half. I was so scared that if I didn't eat, I'd get sick, so I ate. It was the only thing that sounded good. I thought I'm going to get SO fat if this continues, but luckily, my appetite was quite a bit more normal the next day.

Good luck with the motivation. I think all of us first-trimester gals are right there with you. I am really starting to feel more energetic and able to stay up later at night as I approached my 11th & 12th week. Hope you're right there with me.

I hear the heartbeat on Wednesday...hopefully! (They didn't hear it at 10 weeks).

Amanda:

This is my 3rd pregnancy, so I feel like a pro by now. You will be hungry all the time. Especially with how much you're working out. Great job! I remember sitting down to lunch, pregnant with my first, and my stomach would growl the entire time I was eating my lunch. I think it was worse with my son (my 1st pg) than with my daughter (my 2nd) but I'm not sure. I don't know if there was a correlation with sex or not...probably not. I have days with this pregnancy where I'm hungry all day, and then days when I feel relatively normal. It's really hard now that I've been nauseous and have had so many food aversions. It seems that red meat sounds the best to me, and hardly anything healthy sounds good. I really do try to make wise choices because I really work hard at controlling my weight gain during pregnancy. I limit my sweets so much. Luckily, they have not sounded the least bit appetizing since I've been sick.

I noticed my waist starting to feel much different around 11 weeks. And now at 12 weeks, I notice a huge difference. I actually took measurements tonight and couldn't believe it had already grown about 3 inches. The rest of my measurements are the same with the exception of my bust of course. You mentioned that your pants are starting to get tight around your waist...I have noticed that my extreme low-rise pants still fit really good. I think they are low enough that they don't interfere with the uterine growth as much You may want to give it a try? I'm hoping that they fit me for quite awhile yet. We'll see if my theory is right in the next few weeks I guess. I do notice that my waist at night is bigger and probably less comfortable in restrictive clothes than in the morning/mid-day.

Hope that helps.

Hi Tana,
Congratulations on your pregnancy! And welcome to the check-in. It's a great tool to keep you motivated to work out - at least it has been for me. I hope to hear from you every week! :)

Thanks for all the responses. I forgot to mention my due date. It is Sept 22nd. I am entering my 11th week. I think this week i am going to do the timesavers as a rotation. Anyone want to join me? I think I actually might do it for the next 3 weeks because I am in my last 3 weeks of one of my classes for my masters and just wiped out. I do not think i am going to take anymore classes until after the baby is born. I just can not concentrate. Anyone else feel the same way. I am like that at work also. I hope everyone has a great week and let me know if you want to join me with the timesaver rotation.
Amanda

First, let me congratulate and welcome you Amanda.

I'll join you for the Timesavers. I have been terrible the last two weeks... that is why I haven't posted... nothing to post. ;) Well, I worked out one day. I've hit a terrible bout of depression. Anyhoo, maybe you'll help keep me motivated this week. We can do it... we can do it. :)

BTW, I don't think I could have kept up with graduate work and battled the first trimester... that is awesome! I do understand you waiting until the baby is born to finish. take care!
