I’ve previously mentioned the 22 week STS Prep rotation I put together. DH and I started week 21 today. Cathe Gym Styles Chest&Triceps was scheduled and to be honest I was nervous about those 72 push-ups.
Well I‘m excited because I did all the push-ups from my toes. I can easily do a 2/2 tempo but the Tempo push-ups Cathe does for the 4 and 2 reps are still iffy for my neck/shoulder area because I tend to tense that area. I substituted 8 push-ups at 2/2 tempo for the 4s and 8 - 2/2 push-ups for the 2s ending up doing 82 push-ups. I came close to Cathe’s weights or matched them in most cases and bested her weights for a few exercises.
So far my previously problematic sternoclavicular joint has been fine. Not a single issue in 21 weeks.
When we started 21 weeks ago I wasn’t able to do 10 push-ups from my toes. We did nothing but Cathe upper body workouts and usually only two days a week. The last two weeks were the exception because we did Slow and Heavy over three days. It was progressive Cathe workouts that provided the results. Our first workouts were only 15 minutes long. My LMR rotation proceeded this one.
We‘re both thrilled with those results. We’ll finish the rotation the day before Thanksgiving. Then we’ll do a restorative week followed by a 4 week XTrain rotation.
Thanks Cathe!
