PP Week of 1/25/09

Kate~great job!!! I haven't weighed in a while. I am going to put that off. I was getting discouraged so I am working out and I know I am losing inches because I feel things are getting back to semi normal so maybe another 2 weeks I'll check in and see where I am at. Oh yoga abs sounds nice!! DH is actually here till May. He had a 2 month school he was supposed to leave for, but they withdrew him because of his upcoming deployment. They said he needed to be her to do the training for pre-deployment. SO the offical date is May and he'll be going to Iraq for 12months.

Jen~7in?? Oh my that does sound like a big hernia. I think I might have something going on there. i got for my yearly in March so I think I will mention it. I am not sure it's a hernia or not, but when I do ab work I had the seperation and up above my belly button I have a "ball" that sorta pokes out between the seperation I had it after my dd and it really is only visible when I am doing ab work or I lean backwards and it sorta pops out. It's not painful at all. Does that sound like a hernia?

Becky~33 mintues at this stage is wondeful!

I am not sure what I am doing today. Just got home from Sara's check up.. my peanute is 11lbs1oz. She is just a bitty thing. that was 28% on the chart.. LOL She was 23in long and I think they said that was about 50%.. can't recall what her head was. She got her shots and did well. She is zonked now. I might just take the day off.. don't feel like doing step and the ohter kids will be home in 10min.. don't feel like running with all them tagging along on their bikes. SO maybe I'll havea day off.

Jen - Wow, 7 inches does sound big! Sorry about the anti-climatic arrival of STS. I would hold on to it as well because eventually you'll be able to get to it I would think.

Maggie - LOL about herding cats. Kudos to you for homeschooling. I can't even handle homework time some days! Great job on the heavy lifting. I'm still trying to get my strength back.

Kate - Yay for 2 more lbs! I lost 2 lbs also and my tummy is getting smaller, but still jiggly and sticking out if I don't suck it in. Tell me your secret on how you get Julia to sleep apart. I co-sleep also, but bought a co-sleeper that is right next to my bed and she doesn't seem to like it much. She went 3 hrs couple nights ago, but last night she wanted to be next to me. I love cuddling and co-sleeping, but like you, I'm not getting a good sleep because she's taking up much more room now even with a Cal. King bed.

Trish - I'm glad you'll have DH around for a little bit more.

Hi Candra, Becky! Gotta get running to pick up my car, bbl!

Lisa

trish, i used to be a daily weigher. actually, hourly:(. now i just do every week or two. im MUCH less emotional now!:D
glad dh will be home for a while! but thats a long leave after! will you get to see him at all??
enjoy your rest day!

lisa, we just started out in her crib. i did co-sleep my 1st baby but it doesnt work for us. i wish it did. now tho, julia is so all over her crib and has to be in there.
wtg on your 2# too! i feel the same way about my belly. i try to look at the long-run tho. at txgiving i couldnt button my fave skirt - now its a bit big. not bad for 2 months time.

-----------------------
nursing mommies......how often do your babes nurse????
Porker Queen USA is every 2.5 hours! my other girls were 3.

Hi ladies! I just discovered both Cathe and this message board. I have a 5 year old daughter named Krista and an 8 month old daughter named Kaylee, and I'm finally getting around to realizing that I have to do SOMETHING to get into shape again! I'm still 30 pounds over my pre-preg weight, which is exactly what I was about 7 1/2 months ago too.

Can I join you? I would love to help motivate each other and stay focused!

Hey girls! I just got home from Costco, that place is always crowded.

Kate-Ryder nurses every two hours. He goes longer at night but he loves to be on the boob:p Good job on the weight loss I still have a few pounds to go

Trish-My brother just got home from Iraq in Dec. he was there for 15 months. Are you going to have family near to help while dh is gone? My sil moved to CA from NC to be close to everyone while my brother was gone. It was nice to help out with kids, they missed their dad so much.

Jen-take it easy girl! I wouldn't cancel sts you will be able to use soon.

Lisa- I am with you on the homework situation. My son is only in first grade and I dread his homework

Becky-good job on the workout. Anything you can squeeze in is good:)

Candra

joy, (i take it you're not ed!):p: welcome fellow mommy!

we think its cute now, but boy are we gonna be sorry when theyre teenagers!:p

candra, glad julia isnt only chow hound!:D
ive never been to costco or sams. im good at watching sales and using coupons - not sure if it would be worth it to join.....

doing my nightly hour-long nursemax! (miss piggy's at it again!:D)
come chat w/ me if youre around!

Welcome Joy!! I have 3 boys Wilson is 7, Owen is 4 1/2 and Ryder is 3 mos:)

Kate I am nursing right now too!! I love Costco we get everything there. I even got my treadmill there. Are you planning to do STS as designed? I canceled my pre-order:( I don't really know why. I think b/c I started with kettlebells and I have P90X. Maybe I will get it later.

Candra

candra, im doing sts in a 3-mon rotation. im so excited to start but i kind of want to wait for cathe to do it too. i would love her tips/comments about it as i go along.

how does ryder do in his car seat?
julia SCREAMS bloody murder.....one reason i never go anywher further than 10 mins away!

Kate- I have a screamer in the car too. This morning he was doing fine so I decided to get a coffee at Starbuck's and of course the line is a mile long and when I am in the middle with no way out Ryder starts screaming, then while driving home it seems I get behind every slow car. Don't they know I have a crying baby and I need to get HOME NOW:eek:

Candra

lol!!! i know EXACTLY what you mean! i was behing the slooooooowest driver today going 40 in a 55. i was in a no-passing zone FOREVER! julia was screaming like she had her head in a vice! i punched the gas and got around him. All i can say is thank goodness there were no cops around!

when do you get your wo's in? i could do them interrupted during the day but that makes me cranky:eek::p. i do mine after all dds are in bed. sometimes not til830:mad:. wish i could do it earlier, but.....this too shall pass....and it will too quickly:(. dont you just love that last nursing of the day? so cuddly.....:)

joy, (i take it you're not ed!):p: welcome fellow mommy!
where did you "find" cthe? i did at collage.
what cathes do you have?

Yep...I'm Joy...not Ed! ;)

I discovered her on FitTV - and I don't have any yet, I've just done her hour long workouts on there. So, since I'm a workout-video-aholic, now I have to build a collection. :D

Kate - I workout in the morning during Ryder's nap. I am grouchy if I don't get it done early in the morning. Mike got me a pull-up bar so after I put the kids to bed at night I have been practicing my pull-ups and I need a lot of practice:eek: Have you got your versaclimber yet?

Do you count calories while bf? I never know if I am eating too much or too little. I have tried to get some info on how many cals and it ranges from 1800 to 2700:confused: I want to keep my milk supply up while exercising.

Candra

Hi Ladies--

I hit a new "low" on the scale today, so that means I can call and make a badly needed hair app't--I'm using a rewards approach for every goal I meet. Now I have 15 lbs to lose to get to my pre preggo weight (with 55 gone--like 37.5 of that was baby and water, though).

I can't believe I'm getting down to post here daily. The Gwenling likes to play on the floor for a time now, so that makes it easier. She's starting to scoot. I tell the kids, "Don't encourage her!". But I know it's a hopeless cause....I have early movers and then life really changes.

I am supposed to do legs and cardio today, but I got in a cleaning mode and I don't know if it's going to happen. I'm getting a panicky feeling though, so I think I'll find a way to cram it in.

Candra--good to hear from you again, fellow lurker. I got my treadmill at Costco too--an ironman something--can't remember. I count calories whilst breastfeeding. As I age, it is harder to lose the weight and I have to really watch it. I eat between 1600-1800 per day, with the occasional bad day. When I do this, I lose about 3/4 lb per week, which is discouraging considering how much I work out.

Trish--I have a major phobia of spiders--that is so creepy. Of course I'm afraid of them whether they are poisenous or not. Glad you are feeling better.

Kate--I don't know about #8. The weight gain/loss every 2-2.5 years is getting wearying. And COOL that you got STS already--I'm pining for Monday. There is a home schooling Cathe social group where you could ask questions if you have them and I'm always willing to share the good, the bad, and the just plain wierd of it all:D:confused::p. I don't nurse on any sort of a schedule, but I'd say our little porker nurses every 2 hours on average--sometimes more often, sometimes less.

Jen--Don't ship STS back--you got it for an awesome price. Six weeks will fly by. Just try to eat really clean and maintain a positive attitude. Your strength and cardio capacity will return. Our oldest ds (14) injured his knee wrestling--his favorite sport and he's out for the season. We'll find out tomorrow what the recovery time and plan is. He's having a bit of a hard time psychologically with it, so I'm being cheer leader for him too. I have him lifting with me and swimming, but he's very social, so he misses his outside sports a lot.

Lisa--my body seems to respond to heavy lifting better than endurance or "fat" burning rotations (that always sound so nice to me)

Hi Joy--and welcome to the forums--we are a chatty and supportive bunch. I'm 15 lbs over my pre preggo weight, but have about 10 vanity lbs to lose after that, so I can sympathize with the difficulty of it all. And let me tell you that when you start buying Cathe, you will be unable to stop--resistance is futile!

Take care all--my workout and my baby are calling.

Maggie

Maggie-you are doing great on the weight loss! Is Gwen eating solids now? I know what you mean about life changing when the little ones start moving. Ryder started rolling over last week! I really need to baby proof this house. With the older boys we lived in a small house with no stairs, now we have a much larger house with stairs. I need babygates:D

Candra

Candra, Yes, I have the vc and I totally love it. I've done 20 min of HIIT on it twice and it kills me!!! My lungs are BURNING!!!:DBefore I go to sleep I go peek on Julia and cover w=her with an extra blanket. I walk out of her room giddy thinking about her with her butt all smooshed up in the air!
I've never counted cals - seems like way too much work! I'm too lazy! I have a good idea of what works and doesnt. I used to weigh myself hourly and got a REAL good idea of what was good/bad. I hope I never do that again tho.

Joy, Over the last 4 years I have bought almost every DVD ccathe has!:eek::eek: DH is appalled!:p

Maggie, Go Girl GO!!!! You are doing great!
Thanks for the HS offer to help. You have always been so great to answer my Q's.
DDs walked and 8 &9 mnths - I cant wait to see Julia toddle around. But at the same time I dont ever want it to happen!

--------------
I DID PLYO LEGS!!!!! YOWCH!!! I am not gonna be able to walk tomorrow night! Hurt So Good!

Better get to bed!

Hi Joy and welcome! The girls are right. Cathe is addicting...I've spent way more on her dvds than anyone else.

Kate - My dd goes every 2-3 hrs as well. I usually workout at night also after bedtime but would much rather get it done first thing in the am but it's hard.

Candra - I don't count calories but kind of mentally. I have been losing slowly but steadily so until I stop I probably won't count calories.

Maggie - I'm in cleaning mode also. Closets will get organized!

Typing with one hand and just got through feeding the little one. Did 4DS BC cardio only. I would have done the whole thing but I had to feed the baby. Tonight not sure what's on the agenda. Dr's appt tomorrow so I'll find out how much dd's grown.

Lisa

Lisa, Give Pomai a squeeze for me!
Good job on BC! THat one is so fun! I do that one w/ my sister when shes over. It's so fun to smoke an 18-yo!:p

Kate~that is awesome about your fav. skrit.. you are doing so well!! Sara nurses every 3 or so hours. She will go longer occasionally and want to eat every 2 hours on other days. Sara hates her car seat as well. If she is sitting in it not hooked in it's okay, but as soon as we got to hook her up.. she cries till we get where we are going unless she zonkes out.

Candra~no we are staying here. We live on post and if we give up the house then there is no guarantee when he gets back we will have a house on post. Renting off post is awful here and we already will be moving to a new house on ost because they are tearing this one down we live in. They are building a community center/office for the neighborhood and there are 4 homes on this street they are tearing down. Fun right? lol I feel it will disrupt the kids even more to up and move back to VA then to move back her again.. I am meeting friends here and my oldest 2 are in school here so moving just isn't an option for us. Send a big thank you to your brother for me. 15 months is a huge sacrafice for him and his family.

Welcome Joy!!

I am Trish I have 4 kiddos.. Hunter 7, Madison 4, Landon 2, and Sara 3 months.

I ended up walking w/ the kiddos yesterday. The older 2 rode their bikes and got some energy out. I am currently waiting on the bug man to come spray SO not sure what I will do today. Ihave to stay off the carpet for 2 hours so step might be out if he doesn't get here soon. We'll see.
