Plyo legs question...

Cathlete
Could plyo legs on STS Meso 3 be considered a cardio workout? I'd like to hit my legs twice a week while doing Meso 1 and thought maybe I could kill two birds with one stone!:p TIA!

When I did STS, I used the Plyo Legs workouts as cardio workouts. I too wanted to hit my legs a second time in the week. The Pylo leg workouts kept my HR in my target zone.

I'm not in Meso 3 yet... are those darned paper-plates part of it?!??! I can't look at paper plates the same anymore... they make me want to run away crying!!! LOL!!!:eek::p

Pam and her frightened legs!!! :p

Give those plates some time, it took me a couple of STS rounds, but I find them now to be almost like a break from regular leg work! Somehow those plates have become the more "fun" exercises.

I definitely think that the plyo legs workouts are cardio. I know that my heart is pumping through the whole thing!

Thanks guys!

Thanks for the response guys, and Pam, I can't remember if paper plates are used....hmmmm....selective memory? lol!:p

Cardio workout? Yes. Cathe even says in Week 1 or 2 that even the weighted work in those routines are designed to keep your heart rate up.

Paper plates used? Yes, but not as much as in Mesos 1 and 2, and the exercises don't feel as strenuous as in those two mesocycles.

I'll be doing Plyo Legs, Week 4, tomorrow, and have really enjoyed them this time around. I'd take 4 rounds of a paper plate exercise over doing one round of those bloomin' one-legged burpees!!!:D

I hate working legs and I agree with Dela, the paper plate exercises are actually more "fun" to me as well. Except for the curtsy moves (in High Reps, particularly) as they tweak my knees. Plyo is absolutely cardio! It's a killer workout (not a happy face)

Yes, plyo legs is definitely a cardio workout. In fact, it falls in line with Hiit Training.

The explosive moves in Plyo legs are designed to develop power for the legs but make no mistake, your heart is PUMPING BIG TIME and it provides serious cardiovascular conditioning.:eek::eek:

(GULP). Guess I better get ready for it. I'll be starting Meso 2 in a couple of weeks so this will give me something to look forward to.

Funny! I used to use paper plates all the time to eat off of when i was feeling lazy and didn't want to wash dishes! Now, i wash real dishes every day/night. I think i look at paper plates as workout gear now rather than food gear! haha!

p.s. Cathe- if you read this- i love the paper plate work in Lower Body blast!!

I love Paper Plate moves in all the workouts! It really does shake up normal leg work! And, when I was doing it faithfully, I got great results! Best dust off those PP and get BUSY!
