Cathlete
Hi. I am interested in purchasing some of Cathe's workouts but am not sure where to begin. I have exercised reguarly for the past 15 years. I just had my fourth son 4 months ago. I am not up to my pre-pregnancy fitness level due to an e.r. c-section. I just can't seem to stay well either. I did The Firm tapes throughout my pregnancy (until the day before delivering) but they are much too easy now. I need to train with heavier weights and increase my aerobic capacity. I am not very coordinated and am worried that Cathe's choreography may bee too advanced for me. Any ideas? Thanks!

p.s. Money is an issue, so I would like to get a DVD with several workouts on it if possible.

Hi, and congrats on your 4th boy, I have 3 myself all boys. If you want alot of workouts on 1 DVD and both cardio and weights too, then I recommend the Power Hour/Maximum Intensity Strength/ Body Max DVD. You will get a semi- strength workout with MIS, an endurance weight work out with Power Hour, a step cardio, circuit workout and endurance upper body with Body Max and Body Max can be broken down into 1, 2 or 3 different workouts. The step portion is a little fast but since it alone is fairly short it is easy to catch on. The step portion in the circuit segment is easier. Then you have the upper body weights segment with abs at the end. Nice well rounded DVD in my opinion.:)

Of course if you can spend a little more money getting the CTX series is a nice series to have. You get 2 DVDs with a total of 5 cardios with one body part per workout, Leaner Legs for legwork, All Abs combo from all the other workouts but just the abs off of them, and Upper Body Split giving you all the upper body weight workout in one workout instead of split up on all the other workouts. :7 It has a little of hi/lo, step, circuits, intervals, and kickboxing.:D

All fairly easy to modify and Cathe does offer the fact that you can do the lower impact moves instead of moving onto the higher ones for those that don't want high impact.:)

Hope that helps you some!!

Enjoy your boys while they are young, I will have a teenager this year and I don't know where the time has gone, :( .

I just wanted to say that I know where you are coming from in regards to coordination and worrying that Cathe will be too advanced for you in that way. I was the same way. I started out with her basic step and body fusion dvd where she uses the more basic step moves and breaks them down well for the beginner. Depending on your fitness level the intensity may be on the light side (although you can put your step at it's highest to increase that), but it's a great way to begin learning Cathe's moves. I have been doing Cathe since mid-December and I feel I have come a LONG way in my coordination and ability to follow her choreography.

Also-I wanted to echo the previous poster about CTX. I LOVE this series! It's a great value-lots of variety and endless options for fresh workouts/rotations! Doing the Upper Body Split in one work out is a MEAN one! lol And Leaner Legs is a great lower body endurance work out...I do that one once a week-I love it!

Just a thought! Best of Luck!

:) :) :)

Have a great work out!

I have a bit of different perspective, for me the choreography in a few of the CTX's workouts were tough, I still cant do All Step! I prefer the Timesaver dvd which is more of an updated CTX. For the choreographically challenged I recommend...

1. Bootcamp/Muscle Endurance dvd
2. Pyramid upper/lower body dvd
3. Kick Punch & Crunch/Legs & Glutes dvd
4. Cardio Kicks/Circuit Max dvd
5. Pure Strength dvd
6. Low Max
7. Kick Max
8. the Gym Styles
9. IMax2/Cardio & Weights dvd

Good Luck!

Hi, I am not very co-ordinated either :>0
I also like to exercise without being concerned about making the wrong moves or trying to figure out what the instructor just did. i am a a klutz:)
I just got the Basic Step & Body Fusion and the High Step Circuit-Beginners/intermediette and I was very pleased that I actually was able to follow these(well most of it anyway)
Good luck.
