Personal goal check in?????No sugar, no salt.......

I haven't been on in a while and I just started hopping back on this weekend. Where did the personal goal thread go? Is it under another topic now?

I really need to do the no sugar checkin. I sucked last month because I didn't have anyone holding me accountable (well, my husband, but he doesn't really care.) So, if noone minds, I am going to start the thread again. If anyone joins, kewl!, but if I am the only one who does it, you can ignore me that's fine. It just really helps me knowing that someone else may be reading about my nasty eatingx(

Starting today, I am working on being sugar free :7

Missy

Missy! It's good to see you:)

The personal goals check-in kind of petered out last month.

I'll join you in here though. I don't really have a specific goal, just that I have to clean up my eating and stop eating so much. I sat down last night and figured it all out, now I just have to stick to it.:)

Missy, I'll join you in the personal goal check in. My eating is horrible. If I told you what I ate this weekend I'd probably be thrown off the boards!!! I'll just say that we had 4 September birthdays to celebrate, and it involved breaded and fried foods, pizza, and icecream--oh, and candy. My DH's birthday is tomorrow and I am going to have a teeny tiny cake because he wants and deserves it. Aside from that, I'm going to clean it up BIG TIME. HEEELLLPPP!!!!!

Michele

I'll join you too. Last week I ate pretty clean, but not enough and I was eating at night to get calories in and that just does not fly for me. I gained 2 lbs. It's TTOM but that's no excuse. I still have 29lbs to lose by NewYear's!

I bought this low carb sugar free ice cream which should be pretty good for us no? Well it wasn't bad at all. The bad thing was I ate the 1/2 gallon in 2 days!! x( So I'm better off abstaining from it and just having a little something now and then.

So I'm trying to eat clean, eat every 3-4 hours, get my cals in,no sugar, no junkfood, no bad carbs after 3pm. That should cover it.

Come on ladies. We can do this. If you want something bad give it a few minutes before you pick it up. The craving WILL pass. If you eat it, you're just gonna want more! So DON'T DO IT! :7

HI guys. How's everyone doing? Staying strong I hope! I'm doing good today. I still need more calories so I'm going to eat now so I won't be eating too much before bed. No sweets or junk tho.

I'm pleased to report that I've been clean today so far. Actually, after the holiday weekend I had I should probably fast for a month and restrict myself to water and juice. LOL

Michele

Hey I'll join! I have had a hard time with my eating but I did eat clean yesterday and today so-so. I was at work and they had apple crisp. Oh my god! It is so goood! I had some but it was only a little bit. And I felt very guilty about it, so I know that means that I am on the right path!

Right now that is my personal goal to stay away from sugar! I think I can! I think I can!

I will join in too ladies. I am one that has to know for sure what I am doing before I do it. I have read a few books and have decided I am going to start (I don't think I can go cold turkey) cutting out sugar. You all are a lot further along then I am so you might be laughing but having to check in every day might help. My husband even said that he too would join in the new way of thinking. We ate at his mother's house and without thinking I had some ice cream...not because I wanted it but because it is habbit. I didn't realize what I had done until 20 min. after the act! How sad...I have a long ways to go. However I am feeling good about the fact that I can do anything for a month so here I go. I am going to try to eat carbs with veggies and meat with veggies but no meat and carbs together. I am going to cut sugar WAY back and I am going to keep updated on this site. Thanks ladies for everything!!!
Sarah

I can not be totally sugar free...that is impossible for me BUT I have not eaten any JUNK like cookies cakes donuts, etc for 3 weeks now!!! :) I still take sugar in my coffee and I eat nutrigrain bars and such on occasion but I haven't INDULGED and I am sooo proud! :)

Missy, I wish you luck on your sugar-free journey! :D

I'm with you Wendy. To be completely sugar/chocolate free is not compatible with life!! One thing I've tried to do is keep sugar free hard candy on hand. Sometimes it just helps to have something sweet to suck on. I never have more than 1 or 2 a day, and often none at all. The other thing I do is have one or 2 dark chocolate discs. We're talking a very tiny amount of chocolate here and it's the good kind. I also make the sugar free, fat free jello instant pudding. I make it with skim milk and since I don't drink milk, this helps me to get some calcium. Again, it's not something I have every day but when I'm feeling a strong urge for sweets it definitely takes the edge off my cravings.

I wish you luck too, Missy. You can do it!!! :)

Michele

Hey girls!

Well, yesterday was good for me.:) I resisted the urge to snack every time I passed the pantry, and stuck to my allotted snack and meal times. It worked out really well! Today there are cookies on my desk, but I'm trying my best to avoid them.

Hey all! How is everone doing???

Yesterday was a sugar day free day for me, and I feel great today! I am really happy that I am not the only one that needs to and has the desire to clean up their eating. I did horrible last month, I mean ice cream everyday, and my energy plummeted...especially after July of eating sugar very seldom and feeling like the energizer bunny. I just feel so much better today, physically and emotionally :7 The problem is, that when I have one cookie, I want all of the cookies, so they all must go!

Shelley, you have the power! You can resist! Treat your body right, and it will treat you right. Even the Cookie Monster, after thirty year, can be converted.

Sarah, noone will laugh at you as long as you do as we say. :+ One thing that really helps me (believe me, I know exactly how you feel!!!) when I crave ice cream or cookies is grabbing and apple or orange instead, something fruity that has natural sweetness in it, something that my dentist won't come down on me for. We can do this thingy!

Kim, I love apple crisp! Yummy! Sounds delicious!

Michele, I am too embarassed to speak my my labor day weekend. I raped a pan of walnut fudge brownies, and that wasn't the bad part. I still eat dark chocolate. It has fiber, antioxidents, and a word that I can't pronounce or spell (but I know that it is really good for you). Life can not be life without chocolate!:) I just don't eat milk or white chocolate - all of that cream and butter and added sugar; my thighs no likey!

Kali and Mary, how are you guys doing so far??? It is so wonderful to have people that have the same goals as you. I am really excited about doing this! :7 :7 :7 It is great that we don't have to do it alone!

Have a healthy day!!!

Missy

Shoot shoot shoot . I did nothing but eat clean All day at 8 oclock pm .hubby pulled out oreos ,I ate two and had to hit my hand when I grabed for the 3rd !! LOL . I told my hubby he was mean LOL . So far today I'm doing good . Those cookies were on the table this am . I put them in the pantry . IF I even go near them I throwing them in the trash !!!!!!!! Then my enviroment will be clean !!! I will let you know how things go . Thanks again ladies .

Two oreos! That sounds like a victory to me! Awesome for restraining yourself before you could touch that third!

Lol! I just had the image of you hitting yourself! Hehehe!

Missy

Ladies, I don't know what I'd do if I had to go to work every day in clear view of a treat laden desk. That was the horrible thing about nursing. Every co-worker from here to Timbuktu brought goodies to work. This one gal would bring a couple dozen chocolate donuts 2 or 3 times a week. It takes some serious will power to pass by those things!!x( Anyway, if it's not in view I'm usually okay. I try not to have anything here to tempt me. My DH doesn't have much of a sweet tooth so I'm lucky in that department--thank the Lord!

Michele

Shelley,

I'm sure it was a fat free, oatmeal raisin cookie made with whole grain and splenda--right? }(

Michele

Shelley~ No more cookies for you.

Mary~ 2 oreos? It could've been 20. Next time DON'T DO IT!

Missy~ glad you're doing good. Me too. Not an ounce of sugar except in some flavored creamer I had last night in a cup of coffee.

Michele~ out of sight out of mind right? My DH isn't much of a sweet eater, but when he does, he pigs out. Jerk. I just tell myself how bad whatever I'm looking at (drooling over) would be for me after all my hard work. That does help. :7

Wendy~ You CAN TOO be sugar free if you really wanted to! I know how you are tho! ;) LOL

I'm doing good w/ my goals today. Have a birthday party tonight at Chuck E. Cheese. I'll have a salad, but it's gonna be tough staying away from that birthday cake!!!! Send me will power vibes around 7pm ladies! :)
