Good morning,

I went to the Dr yesterday, I could not stand it any longer. Of course my cousin had to remind me that our other cousin ( younger female) had heartburn for a week and it ended up being a heart attack. So that got me all worked up...so I went to the DR. They did an EKG, said all there was normal...it sounds like normal gastro issues...she gave me a script for a 2 week regimen of probably what is now OTC Prylosec...(sp?)...said that if this doesn't stop it, to call my DR on Tuesday. I only took one pill and it already has subsided. I am to avoid coffee, and all other acid stuff like tomatoes etc.

Diane Sue, Good that all is ok where you and your family is with that earthquake. I wonder if green tea or regular teas are ok...or are they acidic as well? They never mention avoiding tea when they list the foods you shouldn't eat. I will be picking up some apples and bananas. Funny, these are usually the fruits I have in the house, but none right now. I read about the ACV in water...tried one glass....I can't imagine you drink that every day! Then all the hoopla about wearing down enamel etc...I guess I will do this 2 week regimen, then definitely cut down on coffee etc. I do take probiotics every day.

Valerie, thanks for the info on the Indian stuff...I was at our big box store yesterday, but forgot to look there...had to run in and out quickly too. Agree, not a good time for me to eat anything Indian. Good news from your Derm Dr...at least you don't have to wear those all cotton bras. :). I caved and bought a version of Frontline for the dogs....I can't watch them chew themselves and me getting bites too. I hope to only have to put it on a couple of times.

Lori, the DVD's arrived yesterday...thanks again!

Hi to Carolyn, Josie, Caitlin and Lynda...

I think I will try that Live barbell workout from this week....

Take care,

Good morning ladies!

Yesterday was Live Bootcamp Blast Off. Loved it. I followed up with a 10 min battle rope workout. Forgot my HR rate monitor and was to lazy to go up the stairs. Lol! I was about to do a really intense workout but lazy for the stairs. I actually just cracked up that I admitted to this! Not sure what the workout will be today. I built the Fit Tower yesterday so I may do something with pullups...perhaps one of the P90x upper body workouts. I am planning to use if for some of SB's workouts too. After watching the DVD's that came with it I can easily modify some of SB's moves to incorporate the tower. (Example....lower the bar and do bridge work with feet on it, pushups off of it, even tricep work.) I am happier now that I have it and I am looking forward to ways I will be able to incorporate it in my workouts until Cathe produces more.

Deb...glad you are feeling better. I am very fortunate not to suffer from heartburn. Once in a blue moon I get it but that is it. Glad you got the DVD's. I think they will be great for you and I hope you like them. I can't remember what I used to get rid of the fleas I found on Nilla last year. It was just over the counter stuff I bought at Petco. I used it only that time and had no issues since.

Diane Sue...how did you like SB streaming? Great workouts you selected. I like that she does mostley targets. Love being able to line up a few for a great workout depending on how I feel. Or using one as a finisher. This is not for everyone but works for me.

Valerie...I still have shoulder issues every now and then. Only my right one. Left one has been fine. I pretty much learned what moves I need to modify or just not do. Anything lateral I am really careful on.

Judy...how are you liking the Fit Tower? Looks really well built. I love the mat that came with it. Have you tried it with your barbell? The clips look really well made and heavy duty. Not sure how they were with the first.

Carolyn..that is exactly what I do when my shoulder acts up. My doctor gave me some stretching exercises that helps.

Hi to Josie, Lynda and Caitlin!

Hi Everyone,

Thursday I did To The Mat & Icy Core 2. I liked the Icy Core workout better this time. For some reason, I didn't like it the first time I did it. Friday I did 30 minutes of a Leslie Sansone walk, then I did 4 rounds of Cathe's Boot Camp Body Blast, from the IDEA conference this summer. The workout is 7 rounds but I could only get through 4. Yesterday I did Spinervals 33.0, The Pain Cave. I like this one because it's short, only 45 minutes, but it's all high intensity intervals, so a great workout.
This week will be XTrain for weights and core, and Spinervals for cardio.

It's been dropping into the 50's at night. I had to wear a jacket yesterday :( Fall is here and winter is on the way.

Deb-I'm glad you went to the doctor and are feeling better. Chris had to take prilosec and go on a special diet a few years ago. Now he is back to his normal diet, but he still occasionally takes prilosec.

Diane Sue-The health food store I worked at sold a lot of ACV. One thing I remember was a test to see if you have too much or too little stomach acid. Take a tablespoon of ACV with a glass of water. If you feel worse afterwards, then you have too much acid, if you feel better you have too little acid. I tried it a couple of times and it made me feel worse. I couldn't believe how many people would buy it by the gallons and say they were using it every day. It sure didn't agree with me. I can't eat citrus fruits anymore either, way too acidic for me.

Lori-I love the Fit Tower! The mat and bands that came with it are nice too. I have tried it with the barbell. The clips are solid and the the barbell is very secure. I can use it for squats. I'm looking forward to doing a round of STS later this year, or maybe January. I love how easy it is to lower the bar for other types of workouts.

Hi to Carolyn, Josie, Caitlin and Lynda!

Judy

I'm lucky not having heartburn issues. I'm not sure I've ever had it... DH is fine most of the time but finds certain things bother him, and aren't worth using. carbonation is big for him and it's not even mentioned on the list. Most won't be bothered by everything on 'the list" . You might keep a food diary to see what triggers it. Smoking is another big issue but not a factor for any of us. I eat all the things on the list but not in large quantities and usually not by themselves. Like if I have an orange, it's usually with a meal, not all by itself and I rarely drink juice of any kind.. Grapefruit... I absolutely detest! I don't know how anyone can eat anything sour and bitter.
Deb, definitely hold off on trying Indian food until this is settled down!. You are doing the right thing to protect your dogs. once you get a population of fleas in the house and yard, they are very hard to get rid of. I used to need to "bomb" the entire house a couple times a year because I was so sensitive to flea bites. all the vacuuming and flea collars can't keep up because fleas reproduce so abundantly.
I use Revolution on my cat 7 months of the year. I've read different anti flea products vary in effectiveness across the country, so take local veterinary advice as to what's needed and what works best. we don't get very hard freezing weather in winter here, so our flea populations can go all year.

I bailed wearing cotton bras but kept them in case itching gets worse again. they are floppy, give zero support, terrible for working out in.

I never got in a workout yesterday. planning a bike ride this morning but it's very foggy and traffic on a holiday weekend may be heavy so will maybe do total body metabolic again. or flex train. I haven't done bootcamp yet so maybe that one.

I am adding this paragraph later, out of order... a different forum I post on is being closed down. they gave less than 2 weeks notice. It was connected to Cooking Light magazine. traffic there is way less than it once was, but I guess that's true for most forums. It is distressing ....it must be a money saving maneuver. I hope nothing similar happens here. people are being referred to the CL fb page... not the same thing at all.

Deb glad you are getting the heartburn under control. Fortunately that's not one of my problems. I would hate to give up my coffee! Today I did the Suzanne Bowen lower body stretch and relaxation stretch. We are having a quiet weekend with beautiful weather.
Hello to everyone.

Deb, tea is generally not recommended when you have heartburn. Also peppermint. When I use apple cider vinegar I use plenty of water and I put some honey in it or sometimes a few drops of stevia. I drink some water afterward. They say drink some water to rinse the mouth or brush your teeth soon afterward. That is good that is not a heart issue. It is always good to get it checked.

Lorie, I liked the SB streaming workouts. There are so many:) I couldn't see me using them as my only workout but I think that they would make an excellent addition. I really like the flexibility you get from it and some balance. Speaking of heart rate monitors, I wore my Polar and strap and used the Fit Bit yesterday. They were generally within 10 bpm from each other. Oddly the Fit Bit was higher but had the lower calorie burn. I still do not get the Map My Fitness App being so high on the calorie burn. That is why I had went to just using the Polar app or my calories burned calculator app.. I swear if I went by Map My Fitness for calories I would gain weight. I have wondered how they calculate it for it to be so different. Although it is generally under Cathe's which is high for me as well. You have been getting in some excellent exercise combinations. Glad to see you are going to really enjoy the Tower. As far as SB let me know what would be favorites. I only got the couple of days free trial right now. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go for the free month because I have to give all of the credit information and they want you to give 10 days notice to cancel. If I was going to pay for streaming it would be Cathe first.

Judy, I had not heard of the ACV test. I have never had it make the heartburn and reflux worse. I like citrus fruits better than many, but they are not allowed on a low histamine diet. Normally I enjoy some lemon water and tangerines. I usually buy bags of lemons for making salad dressings and mayonnaise. I would be cold at 50 degrees. It is not that cool here yet.

Valerie, I like to peel grapefruit and section it and just eat it. I guess I am the odd person because growing up we cut them in half, dumped sugar on them, and scooped it out. There was a recipe in a Clean Eating Magazine or book that I had where they took oranges and grapefruit, peeled it and peeled off that membrane around the fruit (tedious) and put a bit of a honey mixture over it. It was great. Not real sweet and no bitterness which usually comes from the white bits and membrane on the fruit. The bitter stuff has more health benefit in it because of the bioflavonoids. According to our vet the animals need something for fleas and ticks year round. We generally have milder winters too. I used to let up in the winter months thinking that the chances were less likely. Also I spray the lawn periodically for pests. Not as much lately though because Gertie was eating the grass. We had this discussion when our dog Mudd was sick from what he thought was tick born illness. Before we lost her. I am keeping Gertie on her monthly Frontline. We used the natural insect repellant while outside as well. I am looking forward to doing the Ice Metabolic workout again. I thought I would not like it very much, but am glad I purchased it. Hopefully you do not have to wear the cotton bras anymore. I do not like uncomfortable undergarments at all.

Hello to Josie, Carolyn, and Caitlin

Good morning,

No workout yesterday...just did not feel like it. It was probably the lack of caffeine...:(.

Lori, I had to LOL on you not wanting to go upstairs to get your HRM, but would do those workouts easily. :).

Judy, it's been cool at night here too, but I actually like it. we are still getting up to 80 in the daytime. It reminds me of nights in California, where John's parents used to live. No A/C needed at night. Thanks for that info on the acid test. I did the tbl in water the other day, and I did not feel better, that's for sure...not worse, but definitely not better. That was before I went to the DR.

Valerie, I think the biggest thing for me to cut out or cut down on is coffee. I admit that I drink way too much...if/when I can go back to it, I will be cutting down a lot. Too bad about that forum....I agree, a FB page is nothing like posting to an actual forum...too many posts, all out of order, no real "conversations" etc...

Carolyn, it sounds like you really "clicked" with SB...that's great!

Diane Sue, I guess tea has acid too....bummer. :(. I was trying to find something with a little caffeine, that is not acidic. One citrus fruit I really like are clementines. I guess all those HRM's and logging apps are going by different bases to calculate calories etc.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Good Morning,
I have been wondering how all of you fit the Suzanne Bowen workouts into your week. Do you add on to other workout or schedule as workout of the day? I bought the BarreAmped dvd in addition to the Strengthen and Stretch, but haven't done it yet. I plan to try the free streaming after I do the DVDs to get a better feel for the workouts. I really like the stretching, but I can't see myself doing enough of her workouts to justify the cost of subscription.

This morning I did Rock em Sock Em Kickbox from ICE.

Hello to everyone. Enjoy your day.
Carolyn

diane sue is right ...there are flea and tick borne illnesses pets can get that are serious. I think the risk of a bad reaction to flea medicine is very minor compared to the things dogs can get from fleas and ticks, tapeworms being one thing. do you have heartworm in your area? that is a very serious illness that dogs get and can be prevented with a simple topical medicine. to me, it's like vaccinations for your kids! I would never skip vaccinations.

I would not be happy without some coffee. I have about 1 1/2-2 cups a day and that's enough to get me going and not cause any issues. the factors mentioned could be additive... Tea usually has some caffeine. not as much as coffee. Nuun tablets come in an energy form now that has a bit of caffeine. what about something like a starbucks double shot? a good jolt of caffeine in a small package. not calorie free though.

I did flex Training yesterday with core. No dread factor there but not easy. I haven't done it in a while and there is a definite leap up in intensity from the ICE series. but I did it all going slightly lighter on some weights.

I don't care WHAT is done to help grapefruit, it's inedible for me. my mother used to do that, half a grapefruit covered in powdered sugar. I remember trying a grapefruit diet once time but it didn't last long. I love mandarins ( so many different varieties with different names) and navel oranges. I use a lot of lemon ,lime juice in cooking. I almost always have them with a meal. I never could understand breakfast of coffee and orange juice. they clash badly.

seeing the other forum closing made me realize how nice this forum is and how pleasant it is to have a place to actually talk about things. the CL forum used to be like that too but has slowly dwindled over the last years, soon to be no more. no fb is not the same thing at all.

my oatmeal got about 2 tablespoons of toasted walnuts and half a peach. I'll see if the oats last longer that way. protein powder is a pretty big shelf section. that would be the other thing I could add. I use plain rolled oats, not the sweetened packets.

we are watching an excellent series now called Narcos. Pablo Escobar the Colombian drug lord. . we saw it before, but a second season is coming out soon so decided to rewatch the first. I highly recommend this. definitely adult material, some skin and very intense realistic bloody violence. most is subtitled as a lot is in Spanish. on Netflix streaming.

This morning I did Ice Metabolic Total Body with the blizzard blast, 61 minutes, 335 calories. I did not go as heavy on this this time. Last time I used 12's and 15's a lot. I think that was too heavy. I wanted to do some more Suzanne Bowen since today was the last day so I did the workout of the day which was Fire 2, 47 minutes, 144 calories. I did not do her modification during the tabata jumps. This was okay. A lot like the one I did Saturday. I then did her Advanced Abdominal workout 15 minutes, 40 calories. It was good except I hate superman work.. The move she does with the plank, leg lift, knee in, and up dog reminds me of a move that Brook Benton does on her Cardio Yoga except it is worked in along with tons of tripod triceps push ups. I always dreaded it. Total calories today was 519. It was a long workout.

Deb, I wonder if you could handle a lower acid coffee. I know they sell them. I think cold brew coffee is supposed to have less acid. Maca powder gives you a boost. I can only use it in the mornings otherwise I cannot sleep at night. Yes, how heartrate monitors work is pretty much individual and different companies measure different ways. That is why I go with different stats and use what I know to be the closest when I put it in my agenda book and My Fitness Pal. It might look good to say I burned 1000 calories but it does me no good. I swathe woman that wrote several cookbooks including Paleo OMG post a screen shot of her phone after doing a crossfit workout for a fairly short amount of time that showed over 700 calories. I still think no way is that accurate. The same thing happened on a Beach Body Challenge group with Body Beast. I want to be able to rely on my stats.

Carolyn, I was thinking that the Barre Amped dvd might have shorter workouts that could be attached to another workout. I may be wrong. I put it in my wish list on Amazon yesterday. On the streaming there are longer workouts and shorter ones. Also tutoring shorts on moves. I don't think that I would do a whole subscription myself. I would rather have a few dvds instead. I saw she has some childrens stuff. My 8 year old granddaughter would love those. She has wanted a barre. She has different dance shoes from ballet and Irish dance. She likes to come and workout with me.

Valerie, I like thick cut Bob's Red Mill Oats because they do not have that slimy texture. I used to eat it all of the time with either some nuts and kefir with a drizzle of honey or protein powder and a spoon of peanut butter. I pretty much eat grain free now so I have not had oatmeal in awhile. I rarely eat breakfast. I remember my mother having the orange juice on the table and they would have orange juice and coffee. I have never been a fan of orange juice or any other juice. I would rather have the fruit. Maybe it started as a habit to get some vitamin C in.
I liked this forum a bit better before they switched to Tapatalk . I had my own at one time. I paid for lifetime membership and the company that provided the service went under. We had a recipe section that the ladies put in there and I was sad because I did not get all of them copied off. I am on 3 private facebook groups that were started with women from here. They have all 3 dwindled. I talk to myself half the time and I get a like here and there. I have been with Cathe's from the beginning at 200 participants. I hardly look at her facebook page.

Good afternoon ladies!

What a beautiful day it turned out here. No sign of a storm whatsoever. I did not workout yesterday. My son came to get the treadmill. So after having a huge space and building my Fit Tower I had the urge to rearrange the workout area. I moved my dumbbell rack twice. Took the weights off..moved it, put the weights on then decided I did not like it there. Took the weights off.... And so on. Between this and moving all the equipment around I felt worked. :D

This morning I did a combination of P90x Chest and Back and some Barre. Was awesome to use the Fit Tower for Pullups. I loved it. I also used the Fit Tower for bridge work and tricep dips. Really was great for both of these.

Judy...I thought about the Idea Bootcamp but could not justify the cost. It was a lot for one workout. Glad you are enjoying it as I here it is good. 2 Lazy for the Gym just did a review. I have not read it yet but will check it out later.

Diane Sue...oh I love so many of SB's workouts...some of my favorites are...

Adv Lower Body Fire
Upper Lower Compound Target
Hamstrings on Ball
Lower Body Interval
Strong Back
Lower Body with Band
Total Body Fusion
Lower Body Sculpting

I could go on and on but these come to mind quickly. I like mixing these workouts with Cathe Live. Sometimes I just add on a SB other times I string a few of the above together. Never thought I would switch from heavy weights to Barre with light weights/high reps but I started noticing nice changes in my physiqe. Seems to be working for me. Funny I love the Superman move.

Carolyn...I love to do SB in the morning. I find her to be so calming. Sometimes I string a few targets together or just use one as a finisher. I generally have been using Barre as my leg workout on leg days. I always use 1.5 ankle weights to really feel the burn. SB streaming works well with Cathe Live. Between these two I am very happy. I actually prefer SB streaming over her DVD's. I do the year subscription which works out to $6.65 a month. I am comming up to my renewal 9/12 and do believe this will be my 3rd year with her.

Deb...I would be miserable without my coffee in the morning. I usually have a cup before I workout to get me going. Can't blame you for not working out!

Valerie...I am not a grapefruit fan either. Been so long since I have done Flextrain. We are watching The Black List with James Spader on NetFlix. Very intense.

Enjoy your afternoon!!!

Lori, I made a list of the workouts that you mentioned just in case I go for the free month. I could see using ankle weights for some of it. I use them on some of Cathe's barre work. Now, on the fire workouts I don't see ankle weights unless you plan on removing them and putting them back on. Do you use them just for lower body work? I can do the superman moves but the ones I hate the most are when they go into swimmers or add a lot of arm movement with it. Do you have her ball? It is just a small ball with air, right? After I did abs with the 5# one and saw easily she was moving the ball around, I figured it must just be air filled. I have always felt that floor work with weights and the stability ball made a big difference in the hip area and thigh definition. I know some women do not like the floor work.
I can do without caffeinated coffee and I am still happy. I am reserving caffeine for when I need it. I am sure I will have some before I go to jury duty next week.

Good morning,

No workout yesterday....it almost seems like the medication they have me on is worse than not being on it. I feel great when I get up in the morning, until I take that med...then I feel like crap. Yesterday I stayed on the couch for a few hours, felt horrible. Then in the afternoon, (probably when the stuff gets through my system) I feel good again, all night etc. If this happens again today, I am calling the DR and asking if I should stay on this or not.

Carolyn, I can feel your conundrum! So many workouts, so little time.

Valerie, I am less worried about a bad reaction to the flea meds, as I am putting that toxic stuff on them and having it get into their bloodstream though their skin....but agree, it has to be done. I hope to only have to use it a couple of times, There is one good thing about deep freezes...no fleas! I hear you on the coffee...when I get back to it, I will be limiting myself to 1-maybe one in a half cups...not like the amount I was drinking before. I don't want to go through this again. I have those STOK shots, but I think that is probably way to acidic. I could not eat grapefruit either, and don't like the juice. If you use protein powder in oatmeal, make sure you put it in after it is cooked, stir it well. It thickens it, you may need to add more milk afterwards..

I started watching the movie. Remember last night, one that Lynda recommended. It is kind of sad...but good acting etc.

Diane Sue, great workouts! I have never seen a low acid coffee...I wonder if they sell it around here. I didn;t realize you were on MFP....what is your name over there? I also dislike Tapatalk....never use it. Do you use a desktop or iPad to access this site? I use a desktop, but when I am on the iPad, it wants me to use tapatalk, and I don't...I sign into the browser there and access it that way....I didn't realize you had your own forum! Too bad they closed down.

Lori, moving all that stuff around and the treadmill was definitely a workout on its own. :).

Caitlin, moving day today?

Hi to Judy, Josie, Lynda

Not sure what is up for today, it all depends on how I feel...

Take care,

Hi Everyone,

Sunday I did a 1 hour Spinerval and yesterday I did a 45 minute Spinerval and Muscle Meltdown Triceps. Back to XTrain today.

Deb-I hope you feel better today. I agree, you should call your doctor if it continues. Maybe that medicine doesn't agree with you.

Lori-That IDEA bootcamp DVD was a little expensive but I broke down and got it after reading about it in the Cathe Facebook group. I also purchased a course, "The Gluteals and Their Link to Low-Back Pain". It's a video course, about 90 minutes long, and a pdf of PT exercises to strengthen the glutes and low back muscles.

Diane Sue-Great workout and calorie burn! I always have 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning. I have cut back quite a bit on caffeine and usually have a 1/2 regular and 1/2 decaf mix.

Carolyn-I also subscribe to SB's streaming. I like that she has so many shorter "add on" type of workouts. I usually add them onto other workouts. Sometimes I will use a longer one as my workout of the day.

Valerie-I agree, this is a really nice forum. I do a lot on Facebook too, and it isn't the same at all. I hate to see forums shutting down to switch to Facebook groups. Facebook has it's place but it's not the same as a forum like this one. There is no way to have all the content this site has and have it organized so well on Facebook.

Caitlin-I hope your move is going well!

Josie-Hope you had a nice holiday weekend!

Judy

Hello Everyone,
We didn't get much sleep last night. My husband was watching a game with friends and ended up in the emergency room. He passed out for no apparent reason. They did many tests and referred him to a cardiologist. His blood pressure was low and he stood up too quickly. He is fine now, but I was shocked to get that phone call last night. We plan to follow up with our doctor today.

Today's workout was To the Mat Legs and Glutes. I did BarreAmped thighs after that. I'm finding that I like these workouts very much. I try to plan my workouts for the month, but I am adjusting to add in more variety.

Carolyn that would be scary.. hope all checks out OK. absolutely do the f/up with Cardiology. don't let your DH convince you he's "fine" and doesn't need it. maybe he doesn't.... but you want to be sure.

we did an 18 mile road ride with cousin & wife yesterday. then came back to our place for lunch. so funny. DH and I are not even working and they are maxed out. think it took at least 2 hours. still, better than sitting around doing nothing.

Judy ..so right about fb. I use it barely, mostly to look at family pictures that get posted. I don't enjoy fb and find it annoys me more than anything. The forum that's closing used to be very active but the magazine did a big format change maybe 5 years ago, and a lot of people dropped off after.... less common ground to talk about from the magazine itself. one topic led to another and there were plenty of conversations going on with a lot of thoughtful insights, not a lot of trolls, sniping, and snark. I will miss it. paper magazines are in such decline. I have dropped several already, and a couple more will go after the subscription runs out. no content anymore, ads and more ads, and focus on doing things I have no interest in.

we wanted to mt bike today, but we got rained on the last few days, and it may still be too wet. will wait a bit yet before deciding. will do MTB again if no ride.

Deb, you should look up some of the diseases caused by fleas, ticks and mosquitos that your dogs avoid by using topicals. heartworm is particularly horrid. even things like ear mites. I do worry though that fleas and ticks especially may develop immunity to the meds just like (in people) headlice and bedbugs are getting harder to kill. evolution happening right before our eyes.

It's a bit like vaccinations for children... most of us have never seen the disease that these kind of medications prevent so we forget how unpleasant the disease or problem is.

ETA went mt biking for 2 hours this morning. good ride.

This morning I did Rock em Sock em the main workout, 49 minutes, 353 calories. I felt I really didn't work hard enough so I went back and did the blizzard blast, 14 minutes, 119 calories. I went on to do muscle meltdown triceps. 14 minutes, 57 calories. It was really one of those indecisive days. I had contemplated doing legs with just the main workout, but was not feeling it today. I finished off with Barre Amped Strengthen and Stretch, Lower body and Upper body stretch, 32 minutes, 43 calories. Total time was 1 hour 49 minutes, 572 calories. I need to come up with some sort of rotation so I don't waste so much time thinking about what I want to do. I will wait till after jury duty next week though. I won't get up and workout during jury duty. As it is I will have to get up by 5:30 to be ready when my son in law comes and picks me up. He works by the courthouse and says whenever I am done he can come and get me. So, I guess I will have some extra rest days.

Deb, I have had medications and even over the counter stuff do that to me. Hopefully the doctor can come up with something else of just adjusting the diet will help and you won't need the medicine. I have been on My FItness Pal for a lot of years. I am WD56 there. Folgers make a smooth low acid coffee. I am not fond of Folgers coffee though. Amazon carries some other brands and I think even some organic and some that is Half caffeine and Half decaffeinated. I am sure that you can find some. There is one brand I saw on Amazon called MomMee coffee. Odd name :) The doctor had me stop drinking Perrier water because of the carbonation along with the fact that it leaches phosphorus from the bones. I use Tapatalk on my cell phone and tablet, sometimes though I just use the internet to log on here with my devices. I keep it bookmarked. I find that when I want to edit a post it is easier to just long on to the website.

Carolyn, that must have been frightening having your husband pass out like that. He definitely needs to follow up with the doctor.

Judy, I have made half caffeine half decaf mix a lot. I usually fill my 32 ounce French press in the mornings and it is usually almost gone by the time I go upstairs to workout in the morning. My mug is big so when I say two cups it is most of that pot. That is a lot if I made it all caffeine.
I have read stuff on the link between glutes and low back pain. That is probably a good program.

Valerie, that was nice that you were able to go for a ride with your cousin and wife. I am sure it made a nice way to spend the time. When I get magazines, for the most part I leaf through and look at ads. There is not much worth reading. I pick up ones that have recipes and decorating ideas and that is about it. I check out fitness magazines from the library to read. It is sad. I used to subscribe to Oxygen's Ckean Eating Magazine for years. When we moved this last time I through most of them out and tore out specific recipes that I wanted. I then got a few online purchased. I finally quit. My facebook use is mostly checking on family a bit and some secret groups. I glance through once every day or so on the family stuff. It can be annoying and depressing at times. Sort of like sitting around and watching media all day. I only need to know what's going on once, not repeatedly.
Thinking of fleas and ticks getting immune to the treatments for our pets, my vets office had said there were a lot of people that had been using Frontline who had bought their dogs in with tick born illness and complaints about it not working as well. Gertie is on back on the Frontline. I saw them advertising a better formula called Frontline Gold today. I know it would probably be the same with pets as humans and our products not working as well.

Good evening ladies!

Today was my rest day. I leave tomorrow for Charlotte so needed to go into work early and stay late. I am tired now and really do not feel like working out. Tomorrow we leave the house at 6:15am so hoping I can get in a quick and intense workout in the morning.

Diane Sue....usually if it is a cardio or hiit workout I do not use the ankle weights. I am the same way with needing a rotation. I waste so much time deciding what to do. I love following SB's rotations. She just started one yesterday. Thinking on doing this with my Xtrain rotation when I start next week.

carolyn...wow so scary for him to pass out. Low blood pressure will do that. Glad he is fine.

Deb...hoping you are feeling better soon.

Judy...great workouts! I read that Cathe was producing new advanced tower workouts in the Spring. This makes me soooo happy! Are you still taking online courses for vetenarian assistant I believe. Just curious. For aome reason this popped in my head a couple of days ago and I have been meaning to ask.

Valerie...so nice you went for a ride with your inlaws. Even though it was not as intense as you are used to I agree it is better than sitting around!

Caitlin...hope the move went well.

Well..I really should pack!

Hi to Lynda and Josie!

Hi Everyone,

Today I did XTrain Legs All Sections (Standing + Barre + Ball & Chair + Floor) + Rear Delts. It got up to 94 degrees here today! It was really nice out so I went for a short walk and sat outside and read for awhile. It will probably be freezing in a week or two.

Carolyn- I'm glad your husband is ok. That must have been so scary.

Diane Sue-I usually spend a lot of time trying to figure out what workouts to do. I like having rotations to follow. It's hard to choose when there are so many good workouts to do.

Valerie-I agree about paper magazines too. I only have a couple of subscriptions left. One is Runners World, which is pretty much all ads and I probably won't renew it. The other one is Ultra Running. It's a little more in depth than Runner's World and not as many ads. I will keep that one.

Lori-I did finish up the vet assistant courses. So far I haven't had much luck in finding a job so I am thinking of volunteering at a rescue. I just read about the new tower workouts coming. I am so happy too! I can't wait for them to come out. One of my Facebook friends wants to do STS later this year so I might do that with her. We would be starting around the end of October.

Judy that is so unfortunate... vet assistants seem to do well getting jobs around here. so hard to tell what will work out well. you might get the inside track on job openings plus more experience at a shelter.

I still get Consumers report, Fine Gardening, Backpacker,Sunset and Eating Well. Sunset will go as they seem to focus most issues on expensive travel to places you could not get me to go to. and then restaurants and sightseeing.. that is exactly what I do NOT want to do. If I could go on vacation and not see anyone, that would be my ideal. Backpacker used to be sometimes interesting stories and thoughts, but has deteriorated to silly ridiculous trips without any reason to them. Toast. I will keep CR, EW, and jury still out on FG.

Carolyn, that kind of event is called "unexplained syncope." syncope is the medical word for fainting. if there is not a clear, definite explanation, it should be looked into with testing. I know more about this topic than most....
