Valerie, we don't use the keypad for our garage door because my husband says those are often a way for someone to get in. We tried to make it work when we first moved here and then my husband said he didn't want to buy another. I hadn't really thought about the garage door opener being stolen. It sounds like your area is a real target for theft. I ordered a freezer seal from Appliance Parts Pros. They are really low cost and fast. I have purchased from them before. It was only $ 17 with shipping and should be here in two days. I don't think it will be hard to do. The only other thing it could be would be Freon leaking. I doubt that. I read that if you can put a piece of paper in the door and close the door, pull it out and it slides right out, the seal needs replaced. It came out easy. I remember our old freezer that we had for almost 30 years would sesl so tight after opening that you had to wait a bit to get it back open.
