Good morning,

Just getting the thread started....still feeling awful. I just want to sleep,

Will check back later.....

You must be about over the worst by now. too bad it's probably Monday when you'll start to feel human again.

we had guests yesterday, a young couple with their 3 yr old. wow. Nice kid but just constant motion and constant attention. impossible to converse without a dozen interruptions. and they stayed way longer than we expected. oh well, I totally appreciated my margarita when they left.

Did a bike ride this morning, somewhere in the 22-25 mile range. lovely morning, ride went fast. 2 hours total with a fairly long stop of 15 minutes or so midway.

Good evening ladies!

Ribs felt better this morning. I discovered the little crack I heard was my underwire in my bra. I have a good bruise but that is it.

I ended up doing Cycle max today and felt fine. Errands followed then walked Chester 3 miles.

Deb...I am so sorry you are still not feeling well. I agree with Valerie. Hoping tomorrow you'll start to feel better.

I have several friends that have little ones. So glad I am done with that. can't imagine having a toddler at this point in my life. Good for you with the ride.

I bought a Dyson vacuum cleaner today. Curious if one have you have used one. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. The fur drives me nuts and we constantly go thru vacuum cleaners. The cost was $600 and I think it is just ok. For this kind of $$ thinking I should love it. Would to hear other opinions.

Have a good night!

Deb-sorry you have been so sick :( I hope you feel much better soon.

Lori-I hope your rib is ok

Valerie-great ride! I wish DH and I could have ridden this weekend but he is on a landscaping mission at FIL's house so no such luck..DH took out all the bushes on the side of the house (they were out of control, hadn't been maintained and looked really bad) then he put down fresh dirt and planted grass. He had to rent a tool from Home Depot to get the stumps/roots out of the ground. That was quite a workout for him. When we got home last night he just crashed. SIL is coming Tuesday so we are getting ready for her too. I've been able to run/walk about an hour every day this week as the weather has been great. I did Xtrain bi's and tri's on Friday night.
Take care everyone and have a good week. I'll post when I can. I think this is going to be a bit of a stressful week.

Judy

Lori-I think we posted at the same time. Glad your rib is ok.
I've always wanted a Dyson but haven't gotten one yet. We have 2 cats and they do shed a lot. I agree-for that kind of money, I would expect it to be a great vacuum.

Good morning,

It's back to work...ugh...at least we have a long weekend to look forward to.

Valerie, totally get the frustration with trying to have a conversation with toddlers around. With 4 nephews 5 years and under, it happens all the time.

Lori, glad your rib was not the sound you heard! we got a new vacuum a couple of years ago....totally forgot the name right now but will look at it and report back. We decided against the Dyson at the time, I think it was on the recommendation of the vacuum store we were at. I don't think they had the pet hair special one at that time.

Judy, wow your DH is really fixing up your FIL's place, hope the visit with SIL goes ok this week. At least she is coming around more.

Hi to Josie, and Lynda...( where are you?)...

Take care,

I have a Miele canister that was fairly expensive ...around $1000... it's just okay. maybe it's not possible to love vacuum cleaners? I had an Royal canister that was wonderful but the power head (for carpets) died and at that time Royal wasn't making more. I still use the canister part in the garage and basement. That was a great vacuum.
We have since worked our way toward less carpet which helps make the vacuum less important. the Miele has a long wand and several attachments that make doing corners, bare floors, and high spots for webs etc pretty efficient. we have several skylights and lots of windows and I wanted a canister for that. Our cat sheds but on hard surfaces it's easy to vacuum with the wand.

Yes, a toddler would make me drink....a lot!! Plus, parents are so much more permissive these days.... when I was young we would have been smacked into next week if we'd done anything resembling this. we were in the "seen and not heard" generation which clearly isn't the case anymore. Not sure which way is right but I'm not used to this.

Lori too funny about the underwire... I wear underwires too, and sometimes they are unpleasant.... which reminds me, I need to find a new one. all of mine are old and usually I wear sports bra, but they don't support enough for more fitted clothes. my boobs look like a speed bump.
Lynda, where are you??

Hi Ladies,

Today's workout was muscle max. I will find out about my foot next Tuesday, hoping that I can start spinning soon. It is driving me crazy that I can not do my cardio.

Garance. We are getting worried about you. Hope that everything is ok.

Lori, we bought a Dyson a couple of years ago and I think it's just ok. Not worth the money that we spent in my opinion.

Valerie, I was laughing so hard when I read your speed bump comment ;)

Deb, hope that you are feeling better.

Josie

Hi Everyone,

I had a day off so I did a very long housemax session and plan on doing a core workout tonight.

I hope everything is ok Lynda.

Judy

Good morning all,

Late night last night, I am tired for sure today. I can't wait for this week to be over, looking forward to a 3 day weekend. Here I am, the one that just came back from 7 days off.

Lori, we have a Simplicity upright vacuum cleaner...I like it a lot, but still use an ancient Hoover canister that used to belong to my Mom for the floors ( hardwood and ceramic). Nothing picks up like that old workhorse! It has to be 50+ years old.

Valerie LOL about toddlers and drinking...I feel the same way!

Judy, HouseMax is underrated as a workout :)..

Josie, at least you are able to do weights....how does the foot feel? like you could do cardio if you got the ok?

Garance, yes, worrying about you now....hope all is ok..

Work, then a committee meeting at 7:00 for the upcoming trial...the weekend after Labor day weekend. I am in charge of the workers...fun!

Take care,

Hi Ladies,

No workout today. My Dd and I might go to the beach today and soak in some sun.
We will be visiting several museums and doing yoga on the beach before she gets a full time job. She has been applying everywhere and has had some interviews but nothing yet. So we decided to explore LA while we can :)

Deb, my foot feels fine to me and I feel like I can do cardio, but I don't want to take any chances. I want to see the x-ray to make sure, I'm still wearing the boot every day.

I will be back later.

Josie

Wow, undergarments have changed since my list visit to lingerie at least 10 years ago. I've been buying online mostly sports bras. I ended up buying 2 bras but need to try them on with the dress. also one of those all in one slip/body shaper things. my dress is not tight but it needed a smooth layer under, and this is apparently what we get now. very strange to step into a "slip" with it coming up to the bottom of the bra. felt like a total lingerie novice.

we did a 30 mile ride this morning. I still might do upper body later, not sure about timing since it's getting late. no yoga this week, the studio closes for labor day week.

Josie, hope you can get out of the boot soon. I would not be happy stuck in one of those things for 6 weeks. stay off the heels for a little longer too! I like sports bras because they're not expensive and comfortable, but usually they aren't flattering.... I've heard "uniboob" many times, but to me my chest looks like a speed bump!

Hi ladies!

This morning was T25 dynamic core. I am really not liking this phase at all. It is just not intense enough for me. Tonight I did All Out Low Impact and loved it. Tomorrow is core cardio and if I remember this one is decent. From this point on going to sub where necessary which is ok since I will be doing some workouts I have not done in a while. Hoping the Gamma phase is better.

Deb..very funny on the vacuum cleaner. Now a days no way would anything last that long. I am thinking I am going to return the Dyson and try something else.
I too am worried about Garance. Does anyone know how to get a hold of her to check in?

Valerie...you just crack me up! Lingerie shopping is certainly an experience and expensive! On weekends I mostly live in sports bras. Good job on the 30 miles.

Josie...good that you are waiting for Xray and DRs approval. Very smart. Yoga on the beach sounds really nice.

Hi to Judy! And Hi to Garance..hoping all is well!

Good morning & Happy Hump Day! 3 more days folks and it's a long weekend!

Another late night, ( for me anyway) had to go to a committee meeting for the upcoming dog trial....September is a busy month, every weekend has something going on...I am not used to that kind of activity LOL...

Josie, good that you are not taking chances with your foot....a couple more days and you will be great.

Valerie, I don't know how you can stay in sports bras all day....they drive me crazy. I wear them all the time while doing any workouts, but as soon as that is over.. it comes off. Too restrictive. maybe I have grown out of mine and need larger ones or something. They are years old.

Lori, ask the vacuum people about the Simplicity. It has great reviews...and our guy at the little store we have been going to for years said it is the one that he sees the least for repairs.

Judy, hope all is well with SIL visit etc.

Anyone have plans?

I am searching around for Lynda's e-mail address...I had it in the past, if I find it I will send her an e-mail ...hope all is ok.

Take care,

almost all I wear are sports bras. I've never been able to hook "back hook" bras. just can't reach. I find it insulting to put things on backwards to hook and then turn them around so I wear 'over the head" or front hook styles. any metal hooks don't work for exercise. back hooks dig in and the metal irritates my skin. I have some metal sensitivities, especially when I perspire. I can't wear earrings, metal necklaces. my watch is Velcro/stainless. I can wear rings if I take them off at night. I have some very compressing bras for running and some less snug for other activities. the downside is my chest really does look more like a speed bump than say, Pamela Anderson's.

I'm hoping that Lynda just had a computer failure of some sort rather than anything serious. she is always so reliable. I don't know any other way to contact her. Hope you fuind her email and can reach her but if it's her computer that won't help.
DH just was having issues with his computer... would suddenly turn itself off without warning but I am very basic when it comes to computer problems (I can't fix exotic problems anyway) and said "check your connections". we were lucky, one plug in the back had worked itself loose causing the problem.

we've been having problem with a harassing phone call. it comes in in the evening right when we are going to bed. I've tried call blocking and caller ID but the number is Out of area" and not available. my cable co said the next thing is to call the police and have them do a call trace so I started that process yesterday. no one on the line, no telemarketer or anything, if we pick up no fax tones, just silence for a few seconds, then it cuts off. but the damage is done, it woke us up. I think it's some kind of robocall thing that was miss set but nothing is captures the number. so I need to have police trace it and file a report. seems silly with all the phone options we have so little control over things like this. I hate to turn my phone off at night in case there is something important.

Good afternoon!

Did not work out this morning as I had an early meeting at work. Plan to do T25 core cardio and P90 Ch,SH,Tris tonight when I get home.

Valerie...we still have a home phone and only telemarketers call on it. We never use it and keep it only for emergencies. I would feel uncomfortable turning the ringer off too. hopefully those annoying calls will stop.

I think Garance had email me once for something a while ago. Not sure If I still have it. I will look though.

Deb how are you feeling?

Hi to Judy, Josie and Garance!

I use my land line a lot, prefer it to the cell so not wanting to cancel it. besides, it's bundled with TV /internet, and the phone line doesn't add much to the bill. I think it was almost identical price without. been getting these calls for probably a month now. always between 8:15 and 8:45, never anyone /machine on it and all it shows is "out of area" and no number is available by any usual tactics, and it goes right thru call blocking. We are on the "do not call" list and have had very good results with it overall. so I suspect our number was programmed wrongly because it seems to serve no purpose. I could turn off the ringer at night but then I'd have to get back up to turn it back on if I don't want it unavailable all night. so now I'm entering *57 after the call which supposedly marks it somehow for police to trace. but no one has contacted us back after I called it in yesterday. you would think this would be easier.

we did some mt bike riding this morning, turned out way too easy but did at least 10 miles. might be a useful area in winter when harder trails are too sloppy.

Good morning,

Still sick, I think it's time to call the doctor and get something. It may be a sinus infection...I can usually shake a regular cold in 3 days. it's not been a week. Felt so awful when I got home from work yesterday that I skipped agility class. That makes 2 this week that I didn't attend.

Valerie, what an annoyance on the phone call situation, but at least it appears to not be an actual person targeting you...that would be scary. I didn't know that the police would do something like a trace for that....that's good to hear. I hope it clears up soon.

Lori, We still have a land line and use it exclusively for home. I don't like the cell, it's really my work phone, and I use it when I am out etc, but prefer the land line. Mine too is part of my cable package. I couldn't find Lynda's e-mail...it was among the lost data when my computer crashed...I did send her a PM from here....no response...I hope it's only a computer issue...she does have an iPad too so she would be able to get on her with that as well if it was her desktop computer...:(

Hi to Josie & Judy,

Take care,

Called the sheriff again yesterday to get the details on how to trace this. no one called me back. that's 2 days in a row. I realize this is not on a level with murder/robbery but I need to do this right. the cable people said generally how to do it, but said I needed to file a police report to access the unavailable number, at which point the sheriff would contact the cable people. then last night, I didn't get a mystery call. Arrgh!! maybe the calls will quit by themselves, though not optimistic. not impressed with the sheriff's office either.

I don't spend time on the phone like I used to, but for sound quality the land line is way better. using the smart phone "as a phone" is annoying. I am always touching something I shouldn't. when I get out of cell range ( often) I need to turn it off or it runs the battery down to 0% trying to locate itself without a signal. it gets very hot during the process and finally shuts itself off. so I have no phone until charged when I get back in a service zone. I used the previous plain cell phone more. it would just say "no signal" and not discharge itself, and then when we climbed up high enough, it would usually reconnect with a signal. not thrilled with the smart phone as a phone.

Good Morning,

Deb-it sounds like you do have a sinus infection, they can make you feel horrible. I hope you can get something for it and feel better soon. I am having some bad allergy issues too and am taking a few days off of hard training. I may just walk and do some light strength training until Sunday or Monday.

I hope Lynda is ok :(

Valerie-I hate those kind of calls, good luck and I hope you get it resolved.

I haven't had a land line since 2004  I got my first cell phone for work in the late 90's. As soon as I was able to get cable internet (2004) I cut the landline. DH had one but I convinced him to cut it to save money since we both have cells. FIL still has a landline and we got him a cell phone too.
I do agree about the quality issues with cell service, but I don't really talk on the phone that much. I use Facebook and email/texting more now.

SIL has been staying at FIL's house-we suggested she stay there the first night since she had to take him for a dr. appt early in the morning. She decided to stay there longer and has been getting some things done around the house. DH and I are so happy! I was praying that she would spend more time with him and get some work done and my prayers were answered :)

Hi to Lori, Josie and Lynda
