Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 7/5

Good morning & Happy Weekend!

We had a really nice "girl time" get together yesterday at my nieces. Light lunch and pool time! We all said we need to do these kinds of things more often.

Valerie, I am still amazed at the projects you and your DH take one. That's great. This is not a normal summer here for rain. We are getting way more than normal this year. I have to say it helps with the watering...everything is so green and lush. BTW, I took those dental bones back to the store and got a refund. What is Wayward Pines and what does it have to do with Twin Peaks? I remember watching Twin Peaks when it was first on TV...I really liked it a lot and was sad to see it go off the air.

Dawn, good job on X-Train! Are you starting a new rotation?

Lynda, I will definitely keep the dogs apart if we give them those bones, I was even thinking of putting them in their crates to keep the mess down. :). Keegan also licks the plates etc when I am loading the dishwasher, he is the first dog I have had that did that. When Kelsey was a puppy, she would "steal" a spoon from the dishwasher and go slinking off with it, when she thought I wasn't looking. It was so funny, I wish I had a video of it. She stopped when she got a little older.

Lori, I thought of you and your visit with Madeline when we were having our lunch yesterday, time is short and we should spend more with family, friends etc.

Hi to Josie & Judy,

Agility class today, then a busy day with the dogs tomorrow....a match at a local club, then they are going to be evaluated at the SPCA so we can participate in the "Paws For Love" volunteer program. They better pass! LOL.

Take care,

Deb! I completely forgot about the cable. I have two and neither work with my DH's Ipad 2. I used to stream with my 2 until I upgraded so I find it odd. Could be the input into the TV. I have one more older TV that I am going to try it on later tonight and see what happens. Could also be with all the software updates that have gone thru since I upgraded. I have no clue!

Deb, I didn't watch much of twin peaks. didn't like it at all. seems like it was filmed in a town near here, North Bend. It was very "hokey" sounding, with people speaking in a very exaggerated, theatrical way. sort of like very old movies of the '40's. the main guy, kyle McLachlan, was a detective ? he was fixated on cherry pie. I don't think I lasted much more than one episode. just found it annoying.

Watched another episode of Wayward Pines...not sure this one is going to work for me. I am feeling strong resemblances to "Lost". Anything that makes me think of "Lost" is not likely to win many points. WP seems to be about an isolated town in northern ID. people get in and then aren't allowed to leave. time is messed up relative to the outside world. not sure where they're going with it but people who try to leave get killed.

Doing a bit of a purge of extra stuff. not because of the publicity of this lately, I've been doing it since the bathroom remodel. I have accumulated "stuff" and because there was space, I didn't have to throw away an old frying pan when I got a new one, I'd jyust stack it and forget about it. Lots of things I haven't used in ages.... someone else can have it and maybe use it..... pasta machine for one. I used to use it.... but not in 25 years. goodbye.

Deb, DH's parents were really good about encouraging their kids...... if something was broken, his father would say, "try to fix it. what have you got to lose??" I was not raised that way, I was told "don't touch it, you'll break it!" and punished if I didn't comply. I've learned to be more aggressive in trying to fix things. we just did new outdoor lights. finishing them off today.
