Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 7/22

Good evening ladies...

This morning I ended up doing an advanced SB lower followed up with a Bellicon bounce. Was going to do a Kelly workout but completely forgot! Lol!

Judy...your floors look amazing! Your hard work has paid off.

Deb...oh poor Keegan. Hope he is feeling better soon. we love our pets so much. It is hard to see them ill and not be able to communicate with us. Oh if only they could. The paint for the screen can get unbelievably expensive. We do not need to go high end but want something nice. Do not want to go thru all that and have it look terrible.

Valerie...small house here too. I shared a bedroom with my mom for a while. Then later on she turned the living room into a bedroom for my 2 older brothers. I was about 12 when I finally got my own room. 5 children and my mom shared 1 tiny bathroom and we thought nothing of it. It was just the way it was. My younger brother still lives in the house we grew up in. That is so nice giving your share to your sister. Very very nice of you.

Diane Sue...oh yes I remember that Live workout. I do not mind burbees as long as there are only a few and I prefer to use my platform on my step to give just a little elevation. I find this helps my shoulders. Great combination of workouts. I am liking the looks of the raw workout. Hoping I remember to do one in the morning.

Carolyn...I love working my back. I need to refresh my memory with that RWH workout. Nice job.

Have a great night all!

I did chiseled upper body from Ice . it was fine. I used 5's and 8's and if I don't have any issues, will go heavier. it didn't feel hard except for the bear crawls and push ups because I have not done any in a while. so I did half of them and will see how I feel tomorrow.
my sister thinks if she gets any bit of money, like $3000 from a life insurance settlement, that it will put her Medicaid benefits into question. I don't expect much will be left from our mothers estate, and brother is not ready to sell the house any time soon. sister has been disabled for many years, no question about her disability. she needs those benefits so I have to keep the money for her, and spend it down by paying for things she needs, like basic clothing. I buy stuff for her, have it shipped free via Prime, and she pays me back. Now I will just deduct it from the money from the settlement. she can't drive for years now. can't get to stores to shop. has ticked off everyone who could help her. there are some mental issues here, and because I am via long distance phone only, I can be more tolerant. often it requires a decent glass of chardonnay to get thru a call with her.

there are things there is no 'fix" for. I am angry and sad my mother rolled over for brother. left sister and I completely out of her will, and named brother, his wife and son as only beneficiaries. what kind of parent would do that??? we are not even referred to. it is like being intentionally erased. I have not yet burned her pictures. she didn't listen to DH and myself when we told her not to sign everything over to brother in 2014. we had managed her money for almost 20 years and made a lot of profits for her. I'm sure coercion was part of the process but realizing your own mother would sell out both her daughters, one who is destitute, to cover her own ass is not comforting. she didn't listen and say no..... now I have to try to deal with the mess. I have no idea why she sounded like she was happy to talk to me. Pay attention not to what people say, but what they do.

Please don't feel like you need to comment here. I am extremely angry and disappointed in so many ways. it is a huge betrayal.

Good morning,

No workout yesterday. Keegan was not doing well so I brought him to our regular vet and they admitted him. All blood work came back normal, not sure what it causing this, unless he got into something that we are not aware of. He is also famous for eating mulch...:(. I'll be calling around 9:00 this morning to see how he is doing. He would not eat or drink anything.

Judy, that is really cool that you can see the house you grew up in on line. It looks like it has been kept up and probably remodeled.

Carolyn, good job on R/WHIIT. yes, the Ripped series is a good one. A little tougher than some of the ones that followed like ICE and S&S.

Diane Sue, what is nice about Lori's PDF document for the LIVE workouts is that you can print it and keep notes along the side of each workout. I have this rating system, of 1-5 for them, with notes, so when I look one up to do, I can see what I thought about it. I am sure with how you track your workouts, you are doing something like that too!

Valerie, that is good that you are being included in part the estate processing, and very nice that you are helping your sister.

Lori, I am betting that the "screen" painting turns out great. All your projects are really nice when you are done. Did you sign up for KCM streaming too? or are you referring to her free RAW workouts on YouTube?

Will be calling for an update on Keegan around 9 this morning. If he hasn't eaten, I will go there with some chicken, baby food and applesauce, which is what I had to do when he was hospitalized with pancreatitis last year. :(

Take care,

This morning I did RWH Low Impact HiiT One for 28 minutes and 195 calories burned. My average heart rate was 130 and maximum heart rate was 160.

I am running around this morning taking care of a few things. Hello to everyone and have a great day.

Deb hope Keegan is feeling better today. Sometimes they get dehydrated and some iIV fluid perks them up quickly.

I did ice chiseled upper body and core 1 yesterday

We decided to go to MT for a week and are headed there now. I need a break from my family. My sister gets a dental evaluation today that will likely end with her needing extensive work or extraction. Her teeth are a disaster due to med side effects and poor care. That is where some of the money will get spent.

Today I started with Cathe Live Move It, 39 minutes, 252 calories, heart rate average 138, max 169, 5.9 met, 254 calories, 3,072 steps. Funny before I started my workout I had 666 steps and when I ended my workout I had 4,666 step. I had to laugh at the 666 popping up. That used to happen when I would run on the treadmill and I would look at the calories, so I would go a bit longer LOL
I then did Cathe Live Pumped Up Upper Body 59 minutes, (52 actual because of writing things down) 293 calories (MMF says 348 calories), met 4.5, 822 steps, heart rate average 98, max 140. Total time today 98 minutes, 545 calories.
Live Pumped Up Upper Body

Dips 32 reps

rear delt fly 10# dbs 10/8 reps all 3 sets

lateral raise 5# dbs 32 reps
3 times
abs done on step bicycles, reverse crunch, leg shooters, L crunch, leg chasers, repeat for a shorter set

I will be back in awhile. I need to get ready and run a couple of errands while I do not have grandchildren here.

Good evening ladies,

This morning I did Kelly's Raw Tabata with weights and I liked it a lot. This was my only workout. I slept in a bit and needed to leave early to bring GiGi to daycare.

Deb...hoping Keegan is better this evening. Good they admitted him. He is in great hands. I did sign up for Kelly’s streaming. The price is so good right now. I am finding I perfer these kind of workouts then DVD’s. I love how casual these workouts.

Valerie...oh those dreaded bear crawls. This may be the workout I edited to cut half of them out. Good you can keep the money then send what she needs when she needs it. I am so sorry you are going through all of this. It is all so very sad. Good idea to get away!

Carolyn...good for you bumping out some RWH workouts!

Diane Suee..nice combinations today. Lol on the steps!

My husband had his appt with his surgeon yesterday and he was not happy at all. He is referring him to yet another doctor. My husband is pretty angry at this point being passed around. Don’t blame him. Then, yesterday evening he hopped on his bike for a quick ride and took a spill. Ended up with stitches in his forearm. He can not get a break!! :(

Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for the comments on the flooring. We are very happy that it is done. I tried to do a Live workout yesterday but my streaming wasn't working so I ended up doing the Pyramid bonus combo premix. Today I did an indoor ride, 2 hours and 32 miles.

Deb-I'm sorry that Keegan had to be admitted. I hope he is doing better now. Lori is right, he is in great hands.

Valerie-I'm sorry for what you are going through. I hope you have a good trip to Montana.

Lori-I am really enjoying Kelly's streaming too. I was looking at the Raw Tabata workout. I need to try that one soon. I'm so sorry that your husband took a spill on his bike :( I'm sorry that he is getting referred to another doctor too, that must be very frustrating.

Carolyn-Great job with the RWH workouts!

Diane Sue-Great workouts today!

Judy

Deb, how is Keegan doing? I hope that he starts eating. I know I have had times where I had to cook and shred chicken and put together something other than the dry food when my dogs would not eat or drink. Wet foods help with the fluids more than dry. I need to print up Lori's PDF. I have been printing up my workouts as I post them. I also have a spiral notebook I have written notes in. I started out making notes on the print out I did before of Lori's which went to 2016. I have a lot of catching up to do :) The thing is on some of the workouts I was running out of room for all of my notes and info so I started the notebook. It is definitely helpful on equipment and what all is in the workouts because I have started some without looking only to find they had weight work that was not mentioned on the live description.

Carolyn, I had to run out today and get some things done. My grandson will be here tomorrow. I wanted to hit Sprouts because they are having a 25% off on nutrition and health care items. I got my bone broth collagen with over 10 dollars off.

Valerie, I am sorry that things went so badly on the handling of your mother's money. You are very generous taking care of your sister. I am sure it is hurtful to everyone else. Enjoy your time in MT and getting away from things.

Lori, I really enjoyed the Raw Tabata with weights :) It is a fun way to do weight work. I am sorry that your husband is getting passed around. I don't blame him for being upset. It would be frustrating. That is too bad the spill on the bike happened on top of it all.

Good morning,

Thank you for all the well wishes for Keegan. It was "touch and go" for quite a while yesterday. I called our regular vet where he had spent the night and they said he needed an ultrasound and most likely surgery. They had done an x-ray the he said looked suspicious, maybe he ingested something that was obstructing his intestine. They did not have anyone that could do it, ( our vet is out of town and his father was keeping up with appointments at 2 locations). He recommended that I pick him up and take him to the emergence vet for the ultrasound. I got him to the E-Clinic, where they did the test, said they could not "see" an object etc.
John left work , came to the clinic and at 7:30 last night they did surgery. I won't give you and hour by hour detail, but at one point before they went in, they actually asked us if we wanted to go ahead, or to put him to sleep, he was so bad. I asked what his chances were with the surgery and they said "50/50", so we told them to do it. They found a piece of a lava stone stuck in his intestine, had to actually resect a section where it was stuck as the intestine had begun to die off. Infection was spreading to other parts of him. We are not out of the woods yet, they say the next 5 days are critical. Anything could happen. They suggested we come to the clinic today with some baby food to try to feed him. We did this the last time he was there with the pancreatitis issue. It was how we got him to start eating. Sorry for the long post.

Carolyn, great job on RW/HIIT workouts!

Valerie, have a safe trip.

Judy, having the streaming not work is frustrating, but you picked a great workout to do. I like that Pyramid combo a lot! I call it a "hidden gem" because it is so easy to forget its there.

Lori, oh, that is terrible about Bob, first the "hand off" then a fall on top of that. I hope he is ok. I know he has to be pretty frustrated by this point.

Diane Sue, I had the same thing happen with logging notes on the PDF of LIVE workouts. I ran out of room on the pages, and just stopped. I need to do something more like what you did.

Deb-I think you made the right decision to go ahead with the surgery for Keegan. I'm praying that he has a good recovery. I remember feeding baby food to Tiger when he was so sick.
I really like the Pyramid combo a lot too. It is a hidden gem.

Deb, I agree. what have you got to lose? Give him a chance..... dogs are resilient. something that would keep a human down for a month.... dogs can bounce back in a week. strange how dogs uncontrolled urge to eat "everything" gets them into these problems. My aunt Bettys dog ate drapery and got into the same spot, where surgery was needed to clear the obstruction. a lava rock...geez, not even close to food. Hope he rallies and gets better quickly now that the object is removed. I suppose now you need to look at your landscaping and remove small rocks.

Lori do they have a definite diagnosis? or are they still trying to figure it out? ( I am NOT fishing for that information ) maybe it isn't clear between several possibilities. surgery can't be "walked back "once it's done. caution before deciding, or another opinion is not all bad. usually surgeons like to do surgery.... that's why they're surgeons. if there is hesitation and they need another opinion, it is good to pay attention. bummer on the bike crash! I hope he wears a helmet. you don't have to go fast to get some serious dents.

12 hour drive yesterday. if we leave on a weekday the commute traffic near our house has to be avoided, using a longer route. summer highway road repair is more of an issue than on weekends. if we leave on a weekend, commute traffic is better and there is less road work, but more vacation traffic. no perfect solution.

it is so nice here. quiet, peaceful. we will relax today and maybe do minor grocery shopping. it is pretty warm here like everywhere, but cools off at night.

This morning I did RWH Chest, Triceps, and Shoulders. My time was 47 minutes with 209 calories burned. My average heart rate was 112 and maximum heart rate was 139. The strength workouts in RWH remind me of STS. They are thorough and can work you to failure.

Deb, that’s amazing with Keegan. I’m glad they were able to locate the obstruction.

Lori, your poor husband must feel like he can’t get a break! It seems like a good thing that the surgeon wants him to see another doctor. I hope things get sorted out soon. Great job doing Coffeyfit Raw.

Diane Sue, great job with Cathe Live Move It and Pumped Up Upper Body. I picked up some items from Sprouts too.

Judy, it’s good that you could sub in the Pyramid workout for the Live one. It really throws me off when I have to change my plans at the last minute.

Valerie, I’m glad that you made it to Montana safely. It sounds very peaceful and relaxing there.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Today I did Cathe Live Get Steppin, 52 minutes, met 6.0, 342 calories, 4,826 steps, heart rate average 142, max 173. I then did Live Bun Burners Barre and Ball, 48 minutes, 212 calories met 4.0, 1,767 steps. Total time 1 hour 40 minutes, 554 calories. Bun Burners barre and Ball was standing non weight leg work followed by barre work and ending at 36 minutes with ball . I liked it. I really was wanting to get some lower, but not weights today. I am not sure if I will get a short workout in tomorrow or not. I will be helping my daughter with some things.

Deb, I will be praying for recovery for Keegan. I feel so bad for what you are going through. I hope he eats.

Valerie, I bet the peacefulness is nice. Enjoy your rest.

Carolyn, one of the nice things with Ripped with Hiit is they are not quite as long as STS and work you well :) I almost went back to Sprouts today, but have been their two days in a row and decided to order from Amazon instead some Meriva Curcumin which Chris Kressor says in an article he suggests for his patients as it is assimilated better and works well. I am trying to find help that does not require the Advil. I read his article on RA and wrote down a few suggestions to help.

Good morning,

No change with Keegan. He still won't eat or drink anything. We went there twice yesterday to see him and see if he would eat for us. I keep praying that he will turn around. He has not eaten since Monday morning. No lava rock in our yard. He must have picked that up on a walk.

I will check back later...

Take care,

This morning I did Cathe Live Low Impact Step Bootcamp, 47 minutes, met 5.5, 285 calories, heart rate average 119, max 154, 2,307 steps. I used 5 and 8 # dbs, along with the tubing. I then did Coffey FIt Raw Stretch, 27 minute, 60 calories. Total time 74 minutes, 345 calories. I need to get out to my daughters or she will be wondering where I am at.

This morning I decided that I wanted a change from RWH in the current rotation. Instead I did JS Stride and Step in which she uses the mini step topper. That was 30 minutes and 225 calories burned. My average heart rate was 132 and maximum heart rate was 155. I followed up with Element Yoga with Alanna Zabel. I did the yoga for stress relief for an additional 25 minutes.

Deb, I am thinking of you and your family.

Diane Sue, great job with the Live step workouts the last two days and the Coffeyfit Raw Stretch.

Hello to everyone and have a great day.
