Good morning,

No workout yesterday ( I couldn't do one if I wanted to!)...especially with the toe. It ended up being dislocated, not broken, which is a good thing. Glad I went to get it checked. It is taped, but is hurting less and less.

Diane Sue, maybe it is the variety of collagen that makes them smell stronger, but that is so off putting, I don't think I will be able to use this one.

Valerie, is there a setting in your "internet options" on your PC that has the system wipe out any remembered passwords upon leaving a site? Maybe on the website data setting? I have the full version of Outlook, and never have to enter a PW...Can you just purchase the full version of Outlook without a yearly fee? You might be able to get it in a store like Best Buy or Office Max...Thanks for the movie reviews. I looked at Manchester By the Sea a couple of times but never watched it.

A workout, (if the toe cooperates)...then HouseMax for me today....

Take care,

Good morning ladies,

I did not do Legs and Glutes yesterday since it is the first workout in the FT Rotation. I will start with this one on Monday. I ended up doing a quick BBS upper workout followed up with a new Dance Tramp workout they put up yesterday. It was fun. I finished with a bellicon dance. 50 mins / 300 cal.

Deb...glad your toe is on the mend. I can see how that could mess with a workout. Also hoping you get the Live up and running correctly. I loved seeing Travel Fit too on the rotation. I may sub in the new live one, only because it is new and fresh.

Diane Sue...I checked out the 888 workout and it was a nice surprise to see it was more than 30 mins. I do not know when I will ever fit these in but bookmarking them for the future just in case.

Judy and Valerie....that sounds very fustrating with Outlook. I only have it on my work computer and only sign in once and that is it. I do not use outlook on our personal computer.

Well we finally got our pool up an running. We sent in all the requirements from the defective pool and it was going to take easily 3 weeks by the time we get the replacement pool they are sending us. We decided to just buy another so we can start to enjoy and the summer won't be a complete bust. Now we will have a spare. They are cheap enough and we can enjoy for the long weekend. Bob has tomorrow off too. We are happy. :). My son and his GF are here too and will be hopping in. :) We are seriously thinking about getting a real aboveground pool since we are enjoying these little pools so much.

Not sure what the workout will be today. I did not eat very well yesterday so need a good workout today!

Today is a rest day. We went to the Garage to eat after church. I like their bison taco salad. It is more like I would make at home with actual slices of avocado on it and not covered with corn and beans and the like. Afterward we went to our son's house since they are off on a cruise and trimmed up all of the bottom branches on their huge pine tree and put the branches and trash clean up out for trash day. Our son has been wanting to do it and we thought it would be nice to do something for him, since he is always fixing things and helping us. This tree has always been special to us. It was our live family Christmas tree that we had decorated when we had my father and mother in law for thanksgiving. We lost her to a heart attack a few days after. So, we always had nurtured that tree. Our son bought the house when my husband retired and has raised his two children 18 and 19 there, ours pretty much grew up in that house as well. There was two live Christmas trees we had planted there. The second one a little later, they removed it recently because the two were so huge that they covered the entire front yard.

Deb, I am glad the toe was not broken and is feeling better. I have tried the bone broth protein in plain, chocolate, and vanilla. Vanilla is best. Also, I have generally purchased the collagen powder in vanilla. Now, I need to go back and look at which formulas have which collagen. I know the one has 5 types in one. That was the reason I was curious about mixing collagens. There used to be one that was a joint formula that had some other joint help stuff in it, but I don't see it anymore. That is what I had started with. I understand the smell though. I have had a few that I though smelled like those dog bones you buy that really stink. I won't buy them anymore because I have had my dogs get shards off of them and gag up blood. Not a good thing for a heavy chewing dog.

Lori, I am contemplating doing the 888 workout tomorrow. I saw that it was over 40 minutes. I like that Kelly looks tired and sweay while she is doing some of these and that it is not just me feeling it ;) I am surprised that I have not had much soreness from the workouts I have done this last week, even going heavier with them and doing the premixes. Although to be honest, I can do a heavier workout like X Train or STS and feel like I am pushing the weights and not feel a thing afterward.
That is good that you got a pool and set it up. That would have been a long way into summer to get the replacement one.

I forgot to mention that Cathe's got back with me on the downloads not working. They got with the technicians and said to download again and make sure they are fully downloaded before I try to play. Also they suggested I download overnight? Anyway, I had to email them back because my download code expired. Otherwise I would have tried.

Valerie, I have had the same thing happen with Cathe's log in. I can go for awhile without logging in and all of a sudden I have to log in again. The same happens with my Yahoo account. I have to log in every time on my computer when I get on Pinterest , even when I push remember on this computer. I don't have to log in on my tablet or phone.
Speaking of programs and paying, what happened to them just coming with the computer? We bought my husband a new laptop 3 months ago and it is missing so many things. It is Windows 10 which has been an adjustment from his Windows 7. He said yesterday that there is not a PDF reader on it. I mentioned adobe and he said they charge a monthly fee? We purchased Office for it. That is even different as you have to buy the little card and download from the laptop. I liked it better when you just got a disc , but now that has phased out with the advent of download and streaming.

Deb good you got it checked out. I've never dislocated a toe but it sounds unpleasant. requires being careful until it settles down. that is buddy taping, when they tape it to a toe next to it.

I put in my pw and if this doesn't work well I'll upgrade to the $20 version. I have no use for the more expensive Office set with power point etc.

Ended up not doing much yesterday lunch with cousin. They picked up some brand new books at library sale of some sort and got two for me. Two ina garten books brand new for a dollar each. Wow ! one is her last book,. I don't have any of her books before this but have used some of her things from online and TV. she goes overboard on fatty ingredients but I can adjust that easily enough. her portions are always too big too but that's easily fixed.
the auto correct feature is hard to handle on my phone ......had to retype Ina's name but it kept changing it to something else! Now it is later and I'm finishing this on the desktop. I am having to log in on this site and Outlook every time. I am not happy. Deb, I will look for that you mentioned and see if I can find that setting. it's nothing I would have intentionally changed.

I wanted to say one other thing about Manchester by the Sea.... sometimes I like movies just because of location, so if you are in the Massachusetts area that might add to the appeal with maybe familiar locations. I thought everyone in the movie was pretty much a jerk, and a depressing story.

Hello All,
Things have been crazy busy around here. I did not work out yesterday or today, but I hope to get back on schedule tomorrow. We are having a wonderful time with the daughters and grandchildren.

Deb, I'm glad that your toe is not broken.

Take care Everyone and I will try to catch up soon.

Carolyn, just enjoy the family. Workouts are secondary for sure.

Valerie, that is great that they found a new book by an author you like. My husband came home with books that were brand new and Harry Potter last book. I am not interested in Harry Potter, but my dil took them home. I imagine her and my granddaughter will be reading them.

Hi Everyone,

I haven't done any workouts since last week. Today is the first day that my back has felt significantly better. I'm going to start back this week with easier workouts and hopefully will be able to start the Fit Tower rotation next Monday. I might try starting later this week if things go well.
I started using ice and I took some Advil yesterday and that seemed to help. I also did some gentle stretching.

Deb-I'm glad your toe isn't broken.

Lori-I really like seeing Travel Fit and Turbo Barre in the rotation too! I think it will be good for me to get away from heavier weights for a while so this rotation should work out well.

Diane Sue-I've been having to login to the Cathe app on my ipad and on Apple TV more than I would expect. It seems like every few days I'll open the app and find that I am logged out and have to log back in. It usually doesn't happen on my desktop pc unless I log out.

Carolyn-I'm glad that you are having a nice time with your family! It's good to take a break from working out sometimes.

Hi to Valerie & Caitlin!

Judy

Deb I wanted to get this in tonight .. thank you... I think you were right..... there was a setting checked about erasing pws after visiting sites. I have no idea how that got checked, this is not anything I ever looked at before. anyway, I unchecked it, and it looks like my pw's will now stay. if this happens while clearing cache, it never happened before and I don't know why it happened this time. I absolutely did not want to change email address etc... It is working better now that I unchecked it. I hope this fixed it! it has been so annoying to re enter pws over and over.

we rode 25 miles road ride today, 2 hrs 10 min. nice break in the middle. quiet considering holiday.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Fit Tower Legs, Glutes & Core...50 minutes, 188 calories. This one was a killer for me...I almost quit half way, there are some moves I cannot even do. :(. I liked the core work though.

Lori, I started the FT rotation yesterday, since my weeks for workouts always start on Sunday so I can take Saturday off for agility class. I agree, if I get to the week with Travel Fit, I will sub the new Live one, since I haven't tried it yet. Good thinking on the pool situation...no sense wasting most of the summer waiting for a replacement. Won't they give you a refund?

Diane Sue, that was really thoughtful doing the trimming for your son while he is away. YES!! that is what the collagen smells like...an old chewed rawhide bone...ugh... That's too bad about the downloads. I hope you get them to work today.

Valerie, did you say that the $20 version of Outlook is $20 a month, or is it a one time charge? Good deal on the books! I love the library. I hope all the e-reading does not do away with them. Glad you found that setting. Once it is changed, make sure you reboot your PC ( or if you turn it off after using that is ok too!).

Carolyn, have fun with the family :)

Judy, I hope your back continues to feel better...glad you were able to get some relief with ice and Advil.

A workout, then John and I might go to the outlet mall for a bit....

Take care,

Deb as soon as I changed that setting, the promotion for upgrading Outlook went away too. Did something like this happen to you before? DH's desktop has worked fine thru all of this, so it is definitely a setting that got somehow changed on mine. we went thru all the disk clean up, cache, emptying, defrag, all that stuff. more than once. that one checked box was causing all the problems. I never noticed it before. there are as you know more than one way to access things and I had not seen this screen before. I think it was a 1 time charge of $20 but when Outlook was working so badly, I was reluctant to pay for an "upgrade". Microsoft Office is a big program and most of it I would not use so the other choices were a lot more costly.
It seems I have to log back in once or twice a month under normal conditions, but this was making me log back in every time I visited plus the log in to Outlook itself.

we are doing shopping today. plan on going to MT next week. taking our truck so we have room to carry some bulky things. this all hinges on whether the blinds and furniture arrive on time. we have appts for next week but want to confirm all these things before.

Judy do you have an idea of what kind of workout is causing back problems? since I've had problems with hip bursitis, I take advil or other anti inflammatory before I hike and it helps.

Today I decided to try Kelly Coffey's You Tube 888 workout. I substituted kettle bell swings for the ball slams after first trying it and since I am upstairs it sounded like loose boards under the carpet :0 . This was 41 minutes, 272 calories, heart rate 127 average/ 151 max. I then did Ice Metabolic Total Body timesaver mish mosh 32 minutes, 182 calories. Total time was 73 minutes, 454 calories. I am tired today and it took awhile to even get started. I tried to lie back down and read but it did not help.
888 went like this, 8 moves, 8 reps, 8times Kelly uses 10# dumbbells and a 10# medicine ball
punches straight, hook, upper, jack, squat thrust
hammer curl strike out right hammer curl strike out left
side lunge with dumbbells drop and pick up side to side
lunge mountain climbers
med ball slam (Kelly uses a 10# ball) I used kettle bell swings, I think you could just use a dumbbell and not hit the floor with anything though
side to side kicks
split lunge jumps
bicycles

Valerie, I am glad that setting worked for you. I looked at mine today but did not see anything like that. When I clear the history it is supposed to remember my passwords. I also went to Google Chrome and saw which sites had my password save. It only happens to me once in awhile though. Have fun collecting more things for your new home.

Today I did Ramped Up Upper Body. I decided to start the July rotation this week while we have family here. I had to get up early to get the workout in before everyone came down or it becomes more difficult and disruptive. I will not get back to the new FT workouts until next week.

Valerie I'm glad that you were able to fix the password problem. I have not upgraded my MS Office program yet and I frequently get reminders to do so.

Judy, my lower back was tight after doing the FT Legs and Core, but I just needed to stretch it out. Superman exercises and deadlifts with heavy weights sometimes bother me.

Hello to everyone and have a great day.

I forgot to mention that i saw Amy Bento Ross has a 15 minute test rebounding workout up. Maybe soon there will be a full workout.

diane sue, that is what it's supposed to do. I know I said to save passwords. but something happened and it didn't. so glad I got this straightened out. I've done this before so I didn't suspect.
Carolyn that is so disciplined of you. I would never be able to get up and do a workout early like that.

Good evening ladies!

Yesterday was Lift It Hiit It Live followed up with a BBS jumprope on the trampoline. Today I started the 30 Day FT Rotation. First up was Legs, Glute and Core. I used 1.5# Ankle weights and the blue fireloop and band whenever Jen used them and the group. I liked this workout, but because I do so much barre, when the lower portion was done and she said let's move on I immediatetly said "that's it?" The core, however, was a different story and I realized 1/2 thru I still had my ankle weights on so I went with it. Wow. Now that was tough. I followed up with a SB bounce that has some deep barre intervals and a short bellicon hiit bounce. My legs were tired after this. Total time today was 66 mins / 374 cal. Yesterdays was 53 mins /397 cal.

Deb...how was your toe doing the leg workout? When I first started barre I thought I was going to die. It really uses your muscles in a completely different way than we are used to. I am so addicted to it now. I am actually into my 3rd year of SB's streaming if you can believe that. Love it. Today she posted a new streaming bounce so this will be one of my cardios of choice tomorrow. Love that she alternates bounce and barre. How did the measurements work for you with the tower? Hoping it helped.

Diane Sue...very nice doing that for your son. I can see how the tree is special to your family. Nice to remember your MIL this way. Thanks for mentioning Amy's rebounding. I checked it out and liked what I saw. Even though this one is short and seems to have been abruptly cut at the end I think I am going to try it out after the new SB bounce I do tomorrow. It will be a good combination. That's a great substitute for the ball drops. I did not know how I felt about those. We are very happy with our decision to just get another pool. We have spent the past 2 days in it and plan to do so once again tomorrow. ‍♀️

Valerie...sounds like things are ok now with outlook? Your new home sounds so exciting! How far is it from where you live now? I know you have mentioned it previously. Are you planning to completely move that way some day? I did not care for Manchester by the Sea at all. I found it such a sad movie. And I thought he did a great job acting but really thought Denzel Washington was better in Fences. The diaolgue he had to remember was insane! Was very surprised that Casey Affleck won the Oscar. I have not seen Lion and it is on my list. Thanks for reminding me. I still have not seen Wonder Woman! I need to get out more. Lol!

Judy...wise to go easy this week and stretch. I love that the BootCamp workout uses only bands and body weight. I think this may be my favorite of the 3 with the TB coming a close second. I rate the Legs and Glutes 3rd only because I felt it left me wanting more leg work. Love love love the core work in this one but not something you want to do if your back is not 100%. I have not previewed the bonus abs and I am curious how it compares to the BC core.

Carolyn...I am that way too...get up early for your workout before everyone else is up and moving Otherwise, it is just too much going on.

Have a great night all!

Lori , yes.... Manchester was dismal. I thought it might be better if the locale was familiar, but that would not have made it "upbeat". I haven't seen Fences yet. On the list. I was not too great on Casey Affleck but I haven't seen most of the other 'best actor" nominees. I don't think we will want to live there full time, but we will work this out as it happens.
I did Chiseled Upper body today. Not that hard but it works everything reasonably. DH didn't care that much for lion but I thought it was a lovely movie. I think India looks like an awful place but regardless, it was a lovely and reasonable and uplifting story.

Hi Everyone,

I did a 50 minute Spinerval this morning and it didn't bother my back. It felt so good to work out!

Deb-the ice really seemed to help my back this time. I used it a few times today too. I stopped the Advil yesterday. I hate to take that for more than a day or two.

Valerie-I think the Cathe Live and some of the faster moving workouts aggravated my low back. Specifically, the deadlifts and lunges and cross back lunges. Probably squats too. I had been increasing my weight on squats and deadlifts so that probably had something to do with it.

Carolyn-Supermans sometimes bother my low back too. I tend to modify and not go too far with that move. I prefer early morning workouts too.

Lori-Great job with the workouts! I'm looking forward to getting back into some barre work. I think I will like the Fit Tower core work, but you are right, I don't want to do that until my back is 100%. I previewed the bonus abs and thought it looked pretty good.

Diane Sue-Great job with Kelly's new workout! That one sounds like fun!

Have a happy 4th of July!

Judy

Good morning,

Yesterday I did a Cardio Coach workout using the treadmill.

Valerie, I used to have it so that I had to key in my PW's for any site, even if I used it regularly. When I got tired of typing it in everyday, I checked that block so it would remain. I know if you do a clean up of your computer, there are options that clean temp files, etc, but let you keep your PW's. Even though this is the setting I have, every once in a while, like on Yahoo mail ( which is one of the emails for the dog club) it makes me sigh in with a PW...maybe every couple of months. I really like the regular version of Outlook. We used it at work and I was so used to it, I had to have it at home too. I use Excel and Word a lot too, and when I was working, Microsoft had a deal with FedEx employees that you could get the whole Microsoft Office Pro program for $10. It is the one that has the full version of Outlook, so I jumped on it.

Diane Sue, I don't think I would do those ball slams if I was not in the basement! The kettle bell swings sound like a good substitute, even if you are in a basement. :)

Carolyn, good that you got that workout in before everyone got up.

Lori, wow, doing that workout with ankle weights is pretty humbling for me to hear...There is one set of leg exercises that she does kneeling...that at the end she says, "you can do these standing if you'd like"...sure, now you tell me!! LOL...The measurements are great, (thanks again!), but I have not figured out a way to mark the upright yet. I tried taping a little piece of paper, but it came off in the tube, and then it was hard to move. I'm thinking maybe a grease pen, so I could wipe off and adjust if necessary.

Judy, glad you were able to do that workout and it was okay for your back. I find that cross back lunges hurt my right hip, where I have had some pain in the past.

A workout, then later we are going to my cousins for dinner…

Have a great day!

Deb I never had the "full deal" Outlook ....always the lesser version. I used Wordperfect for work , not Word. I used to "know" WP really well. but they lost the word processor war, and Word didn't work for me. I've never learned it, and never had Office, and without it the full Outlook doesn't work. I did medical transcription and I could not adapt it to Word! But I lost the job ( along with everyone else) so didn't ever have to make the transition. I don't think any transcription is done anymore as docs need to do their own keyboarding now or use voice recognition software.
I usually don't store passwords although doing it more often lately. Seems like I need to re sign in most sites every few weeks.
Yesterday afternoon it was frantic in the grocery stores but Lowes was fine so will do a little shopping this morning and get ready for the onslaught this evening. I HATE this holiday!!! the noise and fire risk is beyond acceptable to me. it's like a war zone. I wish WISH we had some control over the chaos. our next door neighbor has been setting up "explosives" for days already. we always stay home to put out any fires. it is dry and has been for a while, and grass and brush fires can cause so much damage.
